I came into their office because I was finally experiencing enough discomfort to just get it over with. Upon first impression, the receptionist I interacted with on my consult day was super friendly, and the assistant that took my x-rays and everything was very personable. I really liked Dr. Haynie as he was down to earth and made me feel pretty relaxed about the situation. They even gave me a neat "goodie bag" type thing full of useful things like a coffee mug, mints and headphones, which I thought was sweet. A few days prior to my appointment however, I had some last minute concerns and questions. When I called to speak to the receptionist (different one that who I had spoken with before), she seemed like she couldn't be bothered and my questions were cutting into her lunch break or something. She was in such a hurry to get off the phone, that my questions weren't answered and I was just brushed off. This was pretty disappointing, after my initial positive experience with them. I ended up searching out answers to my concerns from a primary care physician. The day of the surgery went pretty well, though. I explained to the nurse/assistant gal my fears, and I didn't even have time to panic about the IV. Seemed like she was putting it in one second and the next I was waking up in the recovery area. They even had a neat room for my husband to sit while waiting, where he could watch Netflix and eat snacks, he thought it was a nice touch. Later that afternoon, I was concerned with how much and how long I was bleeding, so I contacted the office, and once again spoke with the receptionist who brushed me off and failed to answer my questions. I really liked Dr. Haynie and the surgical assistants, but I do wish that the receptionist I dealt with was more attentive, it definitely would have resulted in a 5/5 experience.

From the reception staff to the Hygienist staff and all the way to the top, the dentist...they care about you and your needs. This dental practice is top notch! Each person treats me with kid gloves, yet, manages to get the job done well. I've been going there about 3 years now, ever since I move East from Seattle. Dr. Martinssen has done repair of fillings and cleanings. The Front office staff is friendly and very helpful. Dr M even brought in other well qualified and competent dentists when he was out in an emergency. I really appreciated that so I didn't have the burden of looking elsewhere. The doors were locked due to everyone being on lunch so my kids were playing in the grass outside and they went to play in the bushes/trees on the side of the building where apparently they decided that they had to go potty so they went in the bushes (they have been raised on a farm and going potty in the bushes is generally better than going in your pants). When the doors were unlocked I went inside to check my daughter in where I was informed that they would no longer see my family for dental work because my kids peed in the bushes and that I needed to leave the premises.

I have never had…read morea dentist -- and I've had many -- who took so much time getting familiar with my dental history, and who, on subsequent visits, really took the time check and explain what he was seeing. I appreciated that he took a wait-and-see approach before rushing to fill a cavity (alas, it needed to be filled), and was so kind when we called with a scary, after-hours dental emergency. And the dental hygienists are fantastic! I have VERY sensitive teeth, and getting my teeth cleaned is traumatic. They are so careful and so patient. Finally, all my kids love Dr. Kirk and his friendly staff. Highly, highly recommended!
