While my optician is first class in every respect, this disparaging rating concerns the unhelpful attitude of a staff member. Upon returning a pair of expensive sunglasses for repair, I was advised most emphatically that the "damage on the temple joint was irreparable" and based upon this advice I purchased another expensive pair. A friend suggested I obtain "Lenscrafters" opinion. The lab manager there, Ron Herbert, not only repaired the glasses to my complete satisfaction but he did this marvelous service without charge. South Cowichan Eyecare was less than friendly when briefed and offered a perfunctory apology and a refund. While this was in general satisfactory, I had hoped that they would acknowledge that their so called repair analysis was totally unacceptable and would cause unsuspecting customers to purchase glasses they otherwise would not need. My point was not acknowledged and this unprofessional attitude and the resulting awkward and most uncomfortable exchange with the staff member have caused me to take my business elsewhere as their integrity is in question and should be above suspicion. read more
