It's a must stop if you are doing the trail or if you just need a quick bathroom break off the interstate. Will was working behind the desk during our stop and was extremely enthusiastic about the trail and culture of the area and was very helpful in providing info. I was very entertained by the interactive displays;) My favorite was the music station ....yes I was a big kid "playing" the instruments but I enjoyed every minute. It's an exhibit with different musical instruments with a choice of Zydeco or Cajun music . Once you choose which genre you want to hear, background music starts playing. It's up to you to bring the song to life by "playing" the different instruments: mandolin, washboard, accordion etc. Kids or adults, it's fun ;) Here you can also smell popular Cajun spices , peek inside a pelican's mouth, hear how common Cajun words and phrases are pronounced , take home a recipe and even try on clothes for a photo opp. Several exhibits also cover the wildlife and plants you will likely see on the trail. I was in a hurry for lunch between appointments, so I stopped in to get a salad, since these types of buffets usually have a salad bar. I picked through the bad spinach leaves and the brown lettuce to make a salad, but I made it work. The employees were very nice and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. For a quick lunch, that's all I need. If I am in town again around lunchtime, I will probably go back.

Seats were GREAT, and so was the concert. Plenty of free parking. Entry to the event was easy and quick with TicketMaster app. Lines moved quickly and seats were easy to find with the help of the ushers. However, the Event Center needs to step a few things up. A. SECURITY!! As soon as Whiskey Myers took the stage, there was a rush of people to the stage front, completely blocking my view! Now, I understand that people like to get as close to the band as possible, but I paid for good seats so I could be close to the band; I could have bought $5.00 tickets and then just rushed the stage! They certainly had a better view than I did. People with seats around us were just as frustrated, and finally had to go get security to clear the aisle, but they were back in no time. Security tried to reason with the crashes instead of focusing on clearing the aisle. It was dangerous because when the people with seats around ours would try to make the gate-crashes clear out, some of them became belligerent and there were some heated exchanges. Luckily, it did not devolve into pushing/shoving, but it came close. I watched most of the concert on the screens above the stage because I could not see the stage at all. B. Acoustics could be much better. C. Drink menu was limited. NO WHITE WINE?? WTH?!? As I said, I will probably not attend any more concerts here unless these issues are addressed, which is a pity because I grew up attending many concerts and event at the Civic Center.

You walk in for a snack and next thing you know you're sittin' at a penny slot, holdin' a beer you don't remember ordering, wonderin' where your gas money went. And then... the bathroom. Cowboy, I walked into that stall and froze like I saw a rattlesnake wearin' boots. Right there in the wall was a random hole, just starin' at me. Not patched. Not explained. Not small enough to ignore. Just sittin' there like part of the experience. I didn't know whether to: * report it, * inspect it, * or get the hell out before someone on the other side blinked at me. Five stars for chaos. Five stars for entertainment. Five stars because any place bold enough to name itself Lucky Longhorn without a single livestock in sight deserves respect.
