This coffee shop is what Tombstone needed: a shop that is open every day from 0800 to 1400 hours and that caters to both tourists and locals. I walked in on a Monday at 0930am as a group of six just left. "They are storm chasers from Kansas" said owner Jay. "They came by yesterday as well. Where are you from?" I was a little humbled to admit that I am a local person from nearby Sierra Vista, east side. Twenty miles away. Stepping into this old building is stepping into seven generations of a family. Jay and his four siblings lived in this building before they moved to a larger ranch house off MiddleMarch Road. There's even a painting on the wall of his family home. The adobe section was built in 1880 and the brick addition in 1883. The old dining room is now the main room of the coffee shop. I ordered an iced white chocolate latte with whipped cream. It was very smooth. The coffee beans are sent to him from a family friend in Panama and roasted locally. The pastries are made by a baker friend in Benson. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit but I didn't want to keep Jay from his chores. He opened this shop because he saw a need and business is doing well. (The coyboy coffee is the top seller.) Thoughts of extending operating hours and adding a taco truck in the lot next door are in the future. Friendly dogs are welcome. They even have water bowls for them inside and outside. read more

We arrived in Tombstone, on the way south to Bisbee, too early for any of the stores to be open. We had some extra time and walked a bit and just by happenstance, found the Cowboy Coffee Bar, at 316 Toughnut, in Tombstone. It is owned by a fifth generation Tombstone native. The coffee was excellent, and the owner explained the process of how it is made and it was my wife's favorite coffee stop of the trip. However, what made it really special was the owner. Since it was early, he joined us on the porch and answered questions about the history of Tombstone and it's transition to a tourist attraction. He was joined by a woman who he grew up with who now lives in New Orleans. Between the two of them, we learned more about the "real" Tombstone than we otherwise could. It was one of those travel magic moments. Interestingly, I've now read other Yelp reviews of Cowboy Coffee and I discovered how many people have been impressed with the family that owns this place. They do not seem to have a website, but you can find them on FaceBook. I do recommend sitting on their welcoming porch and enjoy the non-tourist side of town. Well done, Cowboy Coffee! read more

This is the perfect place for coffee in tombstone! We were greeted by the cowboys before we even made it through the door. They explained their brewing process and helped us decide what drink would be best for each of our pallets. The decor and cowboy hats of the employees was a great setting for a coffee shop in Tombstone. I will definitely be coming back next time I make it out here! read more

Very cute little local coffee shop! The (I assume) owner greeted us right as we walked in the door and helped us pick something off the menu. He was super friendly and talked with us a little about his great grandma who planted the famous rose tree in town. They had several different kinds of coffee, some teas, sodas and pastries. Our drinks came out quickly and the prices were reasonable. The vibe is very Tombstone. Old fashioned furniture/wild west charm. Saw this coffee shop and had to try them out! Less than a month open, they are off to a great start! Enjoyed a cowboy coffee on ice and it was smooth and dark, just like I like! Hubby tried their Despacio "espresso" and it was smoother than a normal espresso, but alsp a little less strong. The brothers behind the bar were equal parts friendly and knowledgeable. They even gave us a little of their family history in Tombstone. The shop itself has plenty of indoor seating, with a separate dining area, and even a small table and chairs out front! read more

Two brothers, longtime Tombstone residents, opened this coffee shop in October 2025. They create slow-brewed coffee. They said they are able to brew very strong coffee. Personally, I like weak coffee, so I had a mild latte. My sister-in-law likes strong coffee, and she enjoyed the Red Eye My husband had normal cowboy coffee and liked it a lot. When we visited 11 days after their opening, they didn't offer a lot of syrup to add to coffee. The three of us sampled four different bakery items, and all were very good: chewy empanada, zucchini bread, coffee cake and a brownie. The bakery is made for them by a friend in Benson. The Kearney brothers are fifth generation Tombstone residents. They grew up in the house in which they now operate Cowboy Coffee. They have beautifully restored the interior. They are connected to the family that own and run the Rose Tree Museum, which had also been in their family from the beginning. The brothers' family also had a ranch outside town. The sign outside says cowboy coffee bar, but the official name of the business is Cowboy Coffee of Tombstone. The shop has indoor and outdoor seating. They opened in mid October 2025. read more

My daughter and I absolutely loved this place. I needed a pick-me-up in the afternoon and accidentally walked upon one of the brothers calling out "Last call". I was reluctant to go in because I'm picky about my coffee and with a little bit of banter decided that they had what needed. A perfect iced white mocha with coconut milk, no whip. Cowboy Coffee was my first stop in Tombstone. Owner Tim called out to me from across the street and greeted me with a handshake. He welcomed me to town before giving me a rundown on the cowboy coffee making process, asking me my preferences and suggesting some flavors. When I returned with my wallet I ordered a large cup of white mocha. My drink was ready in no more than three minutes, and was the best cup of coffee I have ever purchased.
