The decor and the art is fun and unique. They even have a martini punch card to work up to a free one. Gotta check out this spot then make it your go to bar- wish we had one where we live. Cocktails are $9-11. Beer is $5-6.

I don't live in Hastings anymore, but I did grow up here and was back visiting family. We were looking for a place near my nieces' hotel and happened upon this place. Now there were definitely no places like this in Hastings when I was making the rounds. But then, back in the day I probably wasn't looking for martini bars either. What a fun, friendly, and fantastic place. I think we came in four or five nights in a row and the owners couldn't have been friendlier. That's right, I said "the owners". They may have other staff as well but while we were there it was the owners who were bartending and serving, and they couldn't have been more welcoming. The drink menu was amazing from start to finish, (definitely have the (Blueberry Mojito) and the prices reasonable. I'm sure it's a Midwest thing but I appreciate being able to go out and enjoy myself without having to spend about a day's wages like when I go out on the East Coast. They really made it a great place to relax and have a cocktail or two at the end of the day . . . . obviously, since we kept coming back night after night . . . . and will definitely stop again on my next visit to Hastings. A couple other quick things before I end this. First, there is a bar menu where you can order from a nearby restaurant. Second, the artwork on the wall is fantastic. Something interesting to look at in every direction . . . . and you can buy it if you really like it. Usually in places where restaurants or bars double as gallery space the artwork is small and mismatched by multiple artists. Nothing wrong with that, but I find it distracting. Here the artwork was all by a single artist I believe, and larger enough that it seems part of the decor. And at least the ones near me seemed reasonable priced. (We sat at the same table every night, so I only saw a few up close.) There's one was one funk one that I might have bought if it weren't for the fact that I had driven here from DC and still had to drive back and had already spent more than I planned on the trip here . . . . and still had several stops planned for the return trip. (Graceland, Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Mammoth Cave . . . etc.) Final words, C'mon Hastings (and people just visiting), show this place the support it deserves . . . . and have a cocktail for me.

It has booths lining the walls that have been lovingly repaired many times over the years using the tried and true duct tape method. It has a pool table, fun and friendly locals (mixed in with the occasional bar fight) , a Touch Tunes juke box, beer signs that have been there for who knows how long, Sunshine Wheat Beer in a frosty mug for $1.50, and a wonderful owner named Virginia. This was my college gang's bar, and it could just be nostalgia talking but I love this place. Virginia, the owner, is a hardworking, sweet yet tough woman. She watched over us like a protective Grandmother, and even checked to see if we had finished our homework for the day before she brought us a pitcher of Sunshine. If you like dives and find yourself in Hastings, NE-go to The Olive, and say hi to Virginia for the gang and I. Things to know: Bring cash! No card machine here! There's a small parking lot and also plenty of meter free spots on the street. This place is pretty much a beer and simple mixed drink place. Don't expect to get any martinis, wine or fancy cocktails. Rum and Coke? Definitely. Cosmopolitan? Definitely not. The crowd in here can get a bit drunk and rowdy, but for the most part they are very nice and friendly. If you're looking for a quiet night out, I wouldn't suggest this place.

The salads were nice, good homemade dressing and they serve lovely bread and butter-I'd give those a Nebraska 4-4.5. The truffle potatoes were super dry, tasted nothing like truffle and almost impossible to swallow without a swig of water in your mouth. The prime rib was smoked so long there was almost no flavor except smoke. Perhaps some people like that but I just felt like I was getting colon cancer with every bite, plus they were full of fat too. I'd say at least 1/3 of the meat was fat in everybody's and you saw lots of picking and spitting. That makes a meal really annoying and a bit embarrassing. The baked potatoes were ok. Nothing to write home to mom about. The cocktails were ok, standard and a very light pour. Nothing fancy, no big ice cubes (lots of little melting ones making it hard to drink the cocktail) or higher quality garnish which one might expect for the price. Decent wine list. The environment is fine. It appeared clean in the restaurant, the bathroom and outside. Love the lower level lighting and tablecloths. Be careful walking in the second front door, there's a pretty big slope down. Fun history and very genuine, friendly, informative wait staff. Small town feel and quite busy. You can tell folks in the area love it.

So first time ever being here and since it was a cold, rainy night in Grand Island, I thought,…read more"What the heck, it's time for a cocktail." Upon entering the place, you can tell that it's a newer, more-hip bar in the downtown area. After all, a lot of coworkers have praised it for it's novelty. It was a small, younger crowd (probably makes sense, since it was 8:00pm) with most of the patrons close friends of the serving staff. So I sat up to the bar, and asked for the drink menu. This is where it went a little weird. There was debate among the bartenders as to which menu I needed. Thinking all I wanted was a drink a... drink menu should suffice but I guess Infuse takes it one step further and offers multiple drink menus. Benefit of the doubt. Being that this place is considered a cocktail bar, I discussed options with the bartender and finally thought nothing better than the classic: an Old fashioned. besides, there well bourbon is Bulleit: Now we're rolling. I ordered one up, excited for the outcome, and here came the friendly banter between the bartenders. Only this time, I couldn't tell if the observer was putting in his two cents or if he was actually trying to tell my gal how to make the drink which left an awkward atmosphere for a few moments. Oh well, it was easy to forget when the drink came but once more I was puzzled! It came in a snifter glass. Ok, I like to consider myself as a purist (but I'll take an orange peel and cherry over lemon any day) so I just thought this was totally absurd but in the end, it's just a drink so I'll finish it and move on. Overall, I think this is what Grand Island needed: a newer, trendy bar to draw in a younger crowd, downtown. Although, I would describe it as "growing pains" in one word (well two... the old fashioned was strong so bonus points to that). Look, a bar shouldn't be like a hair salon. I don't want each person's take on a drink. The bar tenders should be consistent with the standards set by the bar unless custom orders are requested. Also, keep it simple. Drink menus for drinks. Food menus for food. With small fixes, Infuse could be the busiest, happening place in downtown GI.

I'd recommend Nathan Detroit if you're in the down town area.
