We loved how quiet it was, and the outdoor space especially. We played by the lake, swung in the hammocks, made s'mores, made dinner every night in the small but very well stocked kitchen and we watched Netflix on the big TV in the living room together as a family. I didn't get a picture of it but the outdoor soaking tub is hidden on the lower deck and I had some of the most peaceful moments of my life out there. Seriously. I really only booked this place because it looked so stylish and I needed to visit my brother who is stationed at Fort Bragg but the unexpected gift of Bluemoon is that you feel like you are tucked away in some enchanted forest or something. It felt like a true vacation. I wish I had gotten pictures but honestly I was so in the moment. I took these pictures from their Airbnb listing. All this to say if you are looking for a very very clean and comfortable place to stay (that looks like an interior designer decorated it) as a couple or as a family you have found it. Our assigned Suite, Room 235 seemed recently renovated. The carpet in the hall smelled brand new, and most of the floor was closed off because of renovations. No problem! The room was clean and comfortable. Easily a 4 star stay. After our second night we decided we wanted to extend for one more night. Unfortunately, our last night wasn't that great. The IHG ARMY website indicated at least 5 Suite rooms available! I called the front desk and inquired about extending a night. The clerk indicated no Suites were available but she could put me in a regular room. I explained the website had at least 5 suites bookable! She said "ok well you can try that then..." Umm ok, so I immediately hung up and booked a suite online. Within a few minutes I got a call back to my room and the clerk said "oh we have a room available but you will have to move". I was disappointed and explained I understand there might be things im not aware of but asked if they could keep us in the room so it didn't have to be cleaned etc. Nope, new room it was. Ok, go with the flow. Sadly, the second room (108) was musty, had only one fully functioning A/C unit (the other wasn't working properly) and there was a huge roach greeting us at the door! (photo attached). Lastly the shower floor was like a waterbed! They had placed a bath-fitter in the shower but somehow water was leaking underneath (probably explains the musty smell in the room) and the floor of the shower was squishy like a waterbed. Very strange. All in All, I would absolutely consider coming back if my travels ever bring me back here (probably won't) BUT I would call in advance and ensure ALL rooms have been brought up to proper standards. Also I'm curious if my experience on having to change rooms might be a training opportunity for hotel staff.

If I stay here again, I will ask to be on another floor (not 1st) because my room was near the restaurant and pretty loud as people were watching football. I texted the front desk and then closed the restaurant doors which helped some. I grabbed a cup of coffee and Pop Tart from their lobby desk before leaving. Since I left so early there wasn't anyone up there yet.

What a great sandwich, one of the best turkey sandwiches I've ever had. I got the sweet potato fries for my side, they were hot and crispy. With the side of honey mustard (which I also poured on my sandwich), it took everything over the top. Oh and it included a big pickle spear, always a plus!
