I was told the system would be evacuated and recharged, and that a leak check would be performed. I was later informed no leaks were found, and I was charged for the service. The A/C worked initially. Roughly 2-3 weeks later, the cooling performance declined again. I returned and was told the issue was a leaking evaporator, with an estimate of about $1,800. Because the leak had not been identified during the initial visit, I decided to get a second opinion. Another shop performed a full diagnostic with UV dye and showed clear visual evidence of a leak at the condenser (front of the vehicle), including visible dye on the condenser core and signs of physical damage. They also found no indication of an evaporator leak. The repair was completed for significantly less than the original estimate, and the issue has been properly identified. I'm sharing this so others understand the importance of confirming the exact source of an A/C leak before committing to major repairs.

I was referred to Charlie's by my regular repair shop (ice cold air) to have my transmission…read morerepaired. Apparently when putting everything back together they left wires lose going to the starter. Which resulted in the wires to short out and damage not only the starter but the wires as well. Not even driving it for two weeks I lost all my power. The wires shorted out my alternator as well. I found this out because I took my car. That was totally dead back to ICE COLD AIR. THEY videoed the lose wires and the burnt area on the starter. I've been with Ice Cold Air Force close to 10 years. NEVER had a problem with them. They are surprised that Charlie's is not taking responsibility for their mistake. Now, Dave at Charlie's Transmission said they aren't responsible in any way (although admitting the video showed lose wires) and that I was being taken. And he would not allow ICA to be taken as well. I'll be the first to admit, when it comes to mechanics, I can't change a spark plug. So in my non-mechanic opinion, CHARLIES TRANSMISSION HAS COST ME CLISE TO ANOTHER 1,000$. TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT THEY CAUSED. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CHARLIES TO CHANGE ANYBODYS OIL! DAVE IS REFUSING TO OWN UP TO THE MISTAKE HIS MECHANIC DID TO MY CAR. IN the length of time I've been going to ICE COLD AIR, not once have they EVER tried to upsell me even one service I did not need. And they have honored EVERY WARRANTY that I eventually used. So. Jim called the scrap yard up the road for me to get a battery. When I arrived there, they already knew what I need thanks to his call. Jim told me to bring the new battery to install. what I thought was going to be a costly repair (alternator) turned out to be a simple fix. I would recommend this shop to anyone. My first thought as I pulled up and saw how busy it was, was oh boy I wonder how long this is going to take. We walked up and were immediately greeted by one of the the mechanics. I told him why we were there and he sent the boss right out. The boss stopped what he was working on and inspected both cars in less than 15 minutes. They were friendly, helpful, and accommodating even though they get paid next to nothing for the inspections. I will go back for service anytime and highly recommend to anyone. I took it in in the morning and John diagnosed the problem based on what the car's computer told him was wrong. He told me what he expected to repair and two scenario's and both of their corresponding prices. He also said it should be no problem to be done by the time I was off of work. True to his word, the price was as expected, the work was as expected, and the timing was perfect. You really can't ask for much more. I was very happy with my experience (even though car fixes are never fun or happy moments with unexpected expenses). Nonetheless I would definitely go there again. Sase is a great guy and can seem a little distant until you get to talking with him. He is very knowledgeable even with my jeep which can be a challenge. He found the issue and fixed it even though he could not get the part. He just fixed the one I had. It was pricey but I have confidence in the work and if I have issues related to the fix I am sure he will take care of it.
