Didn't see anything else interesting, but as another Yelper stated, the Romance section was pretty extensive. On a side note, they had the music cranked up REALLY loud. Decent tunes, but I still found it a bit annoying. Jumped back in the vehicle and Hit the road again !

This is a great used bookstore. It is almost a literal hole in the wall, located in an old factory…read moredown a long hallway. The books are used but all in fantastic condition. The aisles are narrow so only one person can occupy the space at a time, but it just means you have to look at other books waiting your turn. The prices have a range depending on type, age, and genre but are pretty easy to figure out. Those that do have special pricing are also clearly marked. The shop doesn't have set hours so definitely follow on social media. Not only is it fun to see all the new books that come in, they're very clear about when a sale will come along.

We were making our way through West Hartford when we stumbled across the River Bend Bookshop and just had to check it out. This shop is super cool looking because it's basically just inside of a small apartment. The shop itself has a cozy New England vibe and has a small to large section of pretty much every genre. Sadly, the horror section seems to be one of the smaller sections but hey, I don't live here, so clearly they know what their customers are looking for. Near the cash registers they have a nice selection of merch for the shop (sadly, no River Bend Bookshop Magnet) and a cool section dedicated to local authors and stuff like that. Overall, River Bend Bookshop is a super nice little book shop for the area and definitely a place worth checking out. Sadly, I didn't make a purchase on this trip because I can only fly back to LA with so much stuff, but I very much enjoyed checking this place out.

I got the chance to visit with him this past weekend and it was a cool experience. The store is small and a bit tucked away from the street, but there is plenty of parking behind the building and another entrance. The owner Wayne is super friendly! While waiting for my friend to search, I had a conversation with him about the book I picked up and started reading. Definitely a cool hobby to have and now that I've discovered a few comics that I like, I definitely see myself coming back.

It's not going to be discounted, so don't expect it to by cheap, but the things that have are nice. It's never crowded and usually quiet. There are students to help if you have a question but usually you have to approach them. They aren't going around checking on you. They have an ok selection of books including kids books- but I don't have much experience with that. Definitely a nice addition to downtown Hartford!

So they have textbooks and UCONN gear (including law school stuff if you're looking!). But!! They are also a regular B&N. This place isn't large; but somehow when I went I spent about a half hour browsing the shelves (and I could have stayed longer but I was on my lunch break). They have a really nice selection of hardcover and paperback books, journals and other stuff for creative types. There's a Starbucks attached to the store so I think they designed it with people staying and browsing in mind. You know what I love most about this place though? That's it's downtown!! Buck-A-Book and Walden Books left probably close to two decades ago so it's great to have a Barnes and Noble!

Not the place if you want lame romance paperbacks or 100's of Harry Potter novels. Looked like they had some earlier or 1st edition novels, and books for people who want to research or read more thoughtful subjects. Worth a look if you're in the area, but again, it's not strands in NYC with aisles and aisles of books. It's a small, intimate, dead quite place with the true book lover in mind.

Its sad that it had to come to this but here's what happened. I contacted their comic store after I…read moresaw that they made a post about buying Funko Pop collections. I asked if they are buying all categories of pops since I know for a while they weren't buying Marvel, DC, Star Wars etc.. He responded and I quote "Yes, We will buy it all". I was glad to hear that and I responded that I would make it there in a week or so since I needed to make arrangements for babysitter & vehicle for transporting the pops. They next responded to call before I show up just to make sure they are still purchasing Funko pops , which I said that I understood. I called a few days ahead, and then called again a day after to remind them I was bringing a 500 piece collection on Saturday morning at 10am. They said that's fine and we will make sure someone is there to help you. I spent hours packing the pops into several boxes and getting them into the van. I was able to borrow a van from someone and find a babysitter last minute so I could do this on my only day off since it was a 4 hour round trip. I drive to their store and tell them I'm the one who called several times and messaged them about my pop collection for sale. The says okay but we are not buying marvel, DC, Star Wars, etc.& that they were not buying any pops over 4" which nobody told me before that moment. I was so baffled that I couldn't believe I heard what he just said to me after all of the communication we had for several days. He said they recently purchased too many pops and are only looking for certain ones. which is fine but why didn't they tell me that in the first place? They obviously have every right to buy whatever they want but to do this to people is just wrong. Then the worker (who was rude in my opinion) made negative remark about every pop that I decided to bring in. I only brought in 2 small boxes at first just to give them an idea of what I had. The guy actually wanted me to lug in all 500 pops so he could cherry pick what he wanted after everything they did to me that morning. After I left I messaged their Facebook account to express my displeasure and all he said was that he was sorry for the mixup. he didnt try to rectify it in anyway or make good on what happened (which I would have respected greatly). I never write reviews like this ever and I'm mad I even have to write it since it seems like a cool place but it just wasn't right what they did, that's bad business.
