His teacher, Ms Ashley really accelerated his learning with colors, crafts, numbers and vocabulary. The school is very economical for what they offer and my son enjoyed his time here. My main suggestion for the facility would be to add an auto locking door for security, or to lock the doors after drop off time. Still, they do have front staff checking parents and students coming and goings . Phelma and Marla are the two directors who took a big interest in our son and we greatly appreciate all they did for our family. I would not hesitate to bring my next child here until they are eligible for preschool.

The people who bought them are located in Garland and are no where to be found or reached. They kept the teachers thankfully cause they are amazing, but switched up a lot of rules and things that were very inconsiderate and inconsistent to the families they have had there for years. As much as we hated to do it we pulled our kid out after many dealings with them. These teachers here are the best but the company that runs it has made it drown quickly. I know they lost more kids than just ours in the following weeks after corporate started changing rules.

I will start off by saying I am a first responder so I am extremely picky and very protective when it comes to my children. If I didn't have total confidence in ALFK Academy I would not be leaving this review or entrusting them with my child's care and education. When we moved to the area a year and a half ago we needed to find child care/early education for our youngest. We searched around the Sherman/Denison area and zeroed in on ALFK Academy after checking with other centers because of their focus on teaching children in a Christ centered atmosphere. The class sizes are great and allow for more one-on-one time if needed. The entire staff is wonderful and communicate with us on a daily basis whether at drop off or pick up, or via phone if there is a need to do so. My son is excited every morning to go to school and see his teachers and friends. Sometimes he can be quite a handful, but the staff know exactly how to bring him down a level in a calm and caring manner and have done a wonderful job in helping us prepare him for kindergarten. In fact, he is at a higher level now than our other children were at the same time in their lives, and I have no doubt it is due to the curriculum and teachers he has at ALFK Academy. I really could go on and on regarding the positives of ALFK Academy, but I worry this could become so long many won't read the entire review and just keep scrolling, so I will close by saying.... If you are looking for a Christ centered education and child care that is very affordable in these often difficult economic times, a place that takes wonderful care of your child, has top notch audio/visual security and secure check-in/check-out, and a wonderful staff that TRULY cares about each child under their care then stop in or give them a call.

Not happy with Terrell elementary policies. I had car…read moretrouble this morning and I have 3 kids at 2 different elementary schools in the district. I have have trouble with Lamar elementary, but with Terrell it's always one little thing after the next. This year they have implemented a new thing that just to sign your child in to school for being late you have to scan your ID, take a picture of your face through their camera for their database and get a visitor pass. School starts at 8:30 and we arrived at 8:32. I didn't not come in with my ID because why would I need an ID so that my CHILD can go to class? I had to walk back to my car just so I can get on the computer in the hallway outside of the school just to have to take my picture AGAIN and scan my card for a visitor pass so I can walk to the front desk that I can see from where I was standing. To sign in on a pice of paper so my son could walk to his class. I don't think I should have the do such tedious little things just so my kid can go to class 2 Minutes late. And not only that. If he is tardy 2 more times, whether it is by 2 Minutes or an hour, it counts as a full day of absence.. how can 3 separate times or being 2 Minutes late equate to a full day of absence?! It makes me feel like on the 3rd day I should just keep him home since it will be counted as an absence anyway. Why can't they just have a sign in sheet in the front hallway? Wouldn't that be so simple?
