That is not what we want." That level of customer service and attention is rare today and one of the reasons I will continue to use this dental office. However, I do stand by my previous review that the best people at this practice are Dr. McPhee and Helen. If you have a bad experience here, let them know before you leave. The Treatment…read moreCoordinator/Manager formed a treatment plan with an invalid code (D9248) and unnecessary code (D7953) for a wisdom tooth removal which resulted in an extremely high treatment plan bill. The invalid code (D9248) has been deleted from the American Dental Association (ADA) since December 2025. On the phone, the Treatment Manager repeatedly told me "it's the code we use at our office and it's a valid code and I will need to pay out of pocket for it and I should contact my insurance company if I have concerns about codes and billing. My insurance company let me know the code is invalid per the ADA. Additionally, the (D7953) is a rarely required procedure for wisdom tooth removal. In all, I am very leery of the integrity, honesty, and due diligence at Ballard Family Dentistry and I highly recommend all current and prospective clients to thoroughly review their insurance coverage prior to paying for dental work outside of routine cleanings at Ballard Family Dentistry.

BEWARE! Conner was an older child that Dr Ashcroft kept until age 19. My son had been going to Dr…read moreAshcroft for years in Northlake before moving to Haslet. I noticed in 2025 there was only one oral exam and xrays in March and GEHA allows for 2 x-rays and 3 cleanings per annual year. Conner continually complain of pain and sensitivity and in September was told he would need to have the one tooth worked on. However, we changed dentist because of the move to Haslet and in November, a few months later it was determined Conner had 22 cavities. That is a far cry from one. After contacting Dr Ashcroft, he stated he is conservative on treatments and his x-ray did not show that. However, the x-ray he did was in March of 2025 and the other dentist was in November 2025. There should have been xrays done in September not just cleaning. I asked for the cleaning to be reimbursed to me because I feel that the oral exams and x- rays were not done on visits since March 2025, which clearly you will see in the photos promoted the cavities. I thought and expected Dr Ashcroft to resolve this matter by reimbursing the $86 for the cleaning even if it was done because of the over abundance of cavities that were missed. I have GEHA dental insurance over 10 years and will file a complaint. I had to pay for a 4th cleaning and normus bill for the repair of 22 cavities. The photos are from the new dentist on the 22 cavities. Dr Ashcroft stated that the new dentist over reacted and they are not cavities or needed, which I disagree. See for yourself! Besides these photos were sent to GEHA who approved the treatments.
