This was my second time visiting this clinic, and I would have to say it was the worst. The medical assistant seemed to not know how to do what he needed to do asked me two times what pharmacy I wanted the prescription sent to and it was still sent to the wrong pharmacy. The doctor was talking to the medical assistant outside our room door very loudly telling him what can she prescribe my son if he's too young that there was nothing to prescribe as she seemed annoyed. Won't be taking him here anymore. read more

First of all , the waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to even get brought into the office . The tracker kept saying that I wnext and I wasnt . They kept extending the time to be seen . I went to Covenant Clinic in Las Cruces this morning because I tested positive for the COVID virus. All my paperwork was filled out quickly and I was seen withing minutes. The doctor explained the current status of COVID and gave me a prescription for Paxlovid. The doctor also answered all my questions. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of care I received at the clinic and would recommend the clinic to anyone seeking medical care. read more

I was greeted by William who saw I was in pain so got me a wheelchair so I would not have to get up and down before being seen. I had severe back pain for the first time in my life. I was seen by PA Barney who was kind and took her time explaining everything she was doing and why, then later out a treatment plan for me to feel better as quick as possible. My only recommendation is for them to get name tags with their title on them. The person who come in and took my temperature and blood pressure never identified herself so no clue who she is or what her job title is ‍ she was not so friendly but at least my time with her was short. Cracker jack degree doctors. I do not like to go the doctors, I do not have time to go to the doctors, and when I do it is because there is a good reason. My kids had pink eye this past week, they picked up from day care. They got there medicine at a different clinic. Well my kids passed it on to me. I go to covenant clinics and this doctor, in his late or mid 60's; is determined on saying it's allergies because I get it you get patients that don't know much and your a doctor, and it's also gusty outside. He didn't take culture and he dismissed that conjunctivitis is very contagious. He didn't prescribe my much needed antibiotics, and stuck with his idea that it was allergies. So now I have to go waste more time I don't have, to see a different doctor and get the correct medicine. Cruces is terrible in health care. read more

At a minimum, their employees need training in providing customer service. When I came out from the exam room to inquire as to how much longer we would be waiting, the receptionist ignored the question and proceeded to direct me back to the room. When I said, "excuse me, I asked you a question," she became angry and, in for too many words, told me that they were busy, and she didn't know. After 3.5 hours invested, and some unwarranted attitude, I decided to cut my losses. read more

I went for urgent care for a problem with my left ear; I had no problems with my right ear and was not seeking any care for that ear. The nurse practitioner first examined my right ear then looked at my left ear, which she said was inflamed and she prescribed ear drops but did nothing else for the left ear but tell me to come back in a couple of days. Then she had the nurse wash out my right ear without first asking me whether I wanted this (I did not - there was nothing wrong with my right ear and in fact, the nurse did not appear to ever get any ear wax out of the ear.) nor did they inform me that this was going to be an extra charge ($60) for care that I did not request. They did not even ask me if i wanted this service, they just did it. Avoid going to this clinic! And if for some reason, you have no real choice, question everything they do - they use someone coming in with an urgent care need as an opportunity to provide services not urgently needed so they can pack your bill with fees for services you don't need or want, did not request, and that have nothing to do with your having gone to an urgent care clinic. And they do this at inflated urgent care clinic rates when, if the non-urgent service were needed, an ethical urgent care practice would advise you to go to your own PCP for the service. Because this was in-network for me, this does not fall under the NM Surprise Billing Protection Act but there needs to be a Bill Packing Protection Act to protect people from financially predatory medical business that pile on 'services' that either do not benefit the patient (and may even harm the patient) or should be performed in a different setting (e.g., by your own PCP) just so they can pack fees onto the bill. read more

Beware. This place, which calls itself an urgent care, "closes" at 8:00pm; HOWEVER, I walked in at 6:30pm this evening to be told they had "stopped taking patients." Wait what. An hour and a half before closing? My bad for not scheduling my urgent care need (which came on urgently - thus why I went to URGENT care) around their schedule. SIDE NOTE - I wonder if they're hiring. I'd love to work at a job where I can coast for the last three hours of the day...but I digress. The front desk folks were beyond unhelpful, as was the medical assistant who said they had actually stopped taking patients at 5:00pm. It's laughable. So I've had to come back to this clinic because this was the only urgent care in Las Cruces that my insurance would cover. I have to say, in the year or so that I have gone without visiting, things have changed and I would have to retract my previous comment. I have come to this clinic about 3-4 times in the past 6 months and the wait times are what you would see in a typical doctors office. I've been seen by the doctor himself who is very personable, told me that his goal is to not have this clinic like an ER where patients are waiting for hours before being seen. read more

Fast service, detailed exam, quick diagnosis and back on the road! My wife and I flew in from NJ and both started having some cold/flu symptoms. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and after checking in we were taken straight to the back. Very friendly medical assistant started taking our medical history when doctor arrived and started his exam. Very friendly and took his time with the exam. Was able to diagnose my wife with a sinus infection that has long gone undiagnosed. I had none of the negative experiences listed in some of the reviews. read more

I would have rated them more but I've had lots of bad experiences here. I went to covenant with my husband for urgent care and the service was so bad that we left and went to another place instead. The sign in was almost impossible and sadly very frustrating. After this experience I Ended up screwed by a doctor and needed a new Pcp quickly. I went back and saw a doctor there. My doctor did ok but didn't seem to know what was going on most of the time and was always praying which is pretty frustrating for me. After I got a surgery in December 2014 I went to schedule a follow up and was told my doctor left the clinic. I was not told that my doctor was leaving or sent a letter ever. He just vanished. I was not able to get a refill on my medication which caused me to get sick and have bad side effects from not having the medication. The staff was not professional and I had a terrible time getting records and things done when I switched doctors again. Good luck. read more

I was there early this week after suffering a fall. I was bleeding from the face and knee. The staff was quite understanding and got medical attention immediately. The doctor that saw me was quite competent and understanding. Check in procedures were somewhat show but no different than any other medical place. Insurance processing was fast and efficient. I had an amazing experience that I just feel moved to share. Sunday night my daughter dropped a glass bottle on her leg, which resulted in a huge gash. I knew she'd need stitches. It was 7:45 as we jumped in the car googling Urgent Cares Clinics. Only one was open: Covenant Clinic. We arrived right as they were closing, the place was empty. I asked the staff to please consider taking us in. I didn't want to take her to the ER (she's immune suppressed and I did't want to risk COVID exposure). Without hesitation, everyone put their purses down and the doctor came out and so kindly greeted my daughter. She required 6 stitches and screamed bloody murder (thankful there were no other people in the lobby to bare witness). Doctor Robbert's bedside manner was incredible. As we left I thanked him. He said it was his pleasure to serve..and I believed him! We've had a lot of experience with doctors in this house and it was sincerely one of the best interactions we've ever had. He is a privately owned clinic. If people are wanting to support local, think of this place. read more

STAY AWAY! Son has the flu. We went to Covenant, it was nearby. One person was in the waiting room. We started to check in, fill out all the forms, etc. It took 3 staff members to figure out how to enter the data on their computer, and took 15 minutes to do it. So now we start to wait. And wait. And wait.... The guy who was in the waiting room before us left without ever being seen. And while we were waiting, the staff were talking, telling stories and laughing EXTREMELY loudly. They were totally unprofessional. Their behavior was more appropriate for a bar, not a physician's office. I can't comment about the quality of care, because after over TWO HOURS of waiting, we left also. Just atrocious. There are a lot of walk-in clinics in Las Cruces, we will certainly try a different on next time. read more

They advertise they are open until 8pm. This is a lie. They want everyone out of the building at 8pm. Why can't they be honest and state a true closing time? It is deceptive to state a business is open until a certain time, and then close the door to customers before the stated time. I should have known better just from reading the reviews - but we traveling and from out of town My 13 year old daughter had fever and a severe sore throat - I had to chance it. It was a bad decision...an epic fail. The clerk did not acknowledge us when we walked in. We stood at the counter not three feet apart and I believe she would have continued with her menial task had we not had said something first. The clerk was attending to some inconsequential issue, in my opinion, and could have at least started us on filling out forms, you know, making us feel welcome (if you had been there, you would have sensed this was not going to go well, too). But, the place was clean and looked welcoming. It just opened for the day and there was no one waiting. So, I decided to wait patiently to see if things would change. 15 minutes of being ignored and I was done. No compassion. No concern medically for the purpose of our visit. No friendly customer service, a dying value in my opinion. Yes, the decision was mine and I made it. Bad decisions tend to breed good experience and once again I learned from one of my bad decisions. While you experience may have been or may be better than, mine was not good. There are other options in Las Cruces! read more

Don't be like me and ignore the reviews. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but this place is a fake urgent care center. The staff was rude and did not show any empathy. If you have any further problems they cannot even answer simple medical questions over the phone and they simply want you to go back and pay more for another medical visit. It's sad that Las cruces does not have many urgent care centers. So do the research and try to find a actual medical facility with real doctors on staff. Went in for a moderate cut on my finger that i thought needed stitches. Had an overall negative experience with one exception--the doctor herself was good. PROS: - Doctor was quick in mending my finger, took time to explain my injury and what she was doing to fix it, and was very knowledgeable. CONS: - WAITED over 1 hour in the lobby... then they took me back to a exam room where I waited another 1.5 hours without anyone ever coming to check on me, update me on wait time, etc. - THEY "NICKEL & DIME YOU". I asked for a copy of the medical report so I can have it for insurance purposes and the lady at front desk said, "Sure... that'll be $10.99." Dumbfounded, I said, "are you kidding? I just paid a $75 copay, paid for my care, and you're telling me I have to pay for my flipping receipt, too?" Yes... they make you pay for every little thing. CONCLUSION: You will probably get good care here, but it will take FOREVER and you will be NICKEL and DIMED even for getting the paperwork for insurance. read more

Covenant was very convient when I didn't want to wait in the ER or have to wait a week to get into my primary care physician. Docotors were very thorough and took time with me to help me with my condition. They had an x-ray machine on site along with a labatory. I give them a high thumbs up! read more

I've read all of the bad reviews of Covenant. I've had to go there on 3 or 4 separate occasions. I've always been treated quickly and professionally. I've only seen Dr. Peterson on one visit, but he was very thorough. The PAs and/or NPs I've seen on the other occasions have been very concerned, and they have always taken the time to discuss my situations with me. read more

The doctor's and staff are great. The billing is absolutely horrible. Their is zero communication between the clinic and their billing. If you pay the bill at Covenant, you still get bills from Axis billing. If you call one they cant tell you anything about clearing it up with the other. It has been this way for years. We were willing to put up with this until they decided to bill us for an appointment for January of 2012, in July of 2013. I am always on top of my bills and they had never billed us for these services before. Again, we try and find out what the services were even for since they were over a year old and no one could answer our questions. While we are attempting to get answers from anybody that is willing to assist, they turn the bill over to collections, in the name of a minor. That should tell you how disconnected they are. Very very disappointed that it has come to this. I will never use or recommend Covenant again. I would rather sit in an emergency room and pay the extra money than to have to deal with this. read more

We were visiting from out of town and my daughter got an eye infection from flying debris. Sign in was easy, front office was friendly. We were seen quickly (wait time maybe 7 minutes?). Doctor Patterson promptly came into the examination room and had great bedside manner. He was thorough and explained everything. Not sure why all the other reviewers had such bad experiences but perhaps they went on very busy days or on an off day. Everyone -and every business- has them. Went there for a lingering ear infection. Only one other person in Lobby but still waited over 45 minutes before being called into a room. Then waited another 15 minutes after a nurse took my vitals. Saw the doctor for 3 minutes after a very brief exam, prescribed some antibiotics I didn't bother filling, ended up with a $125 (after insurance adjustments). Doctor was friendly enough but didn't seem to care about symptoms (recently had the flu, so chances it was viral not bacterial). read more
