Here's a polished review that highlights the entire experience: I had an incredible experience with Kynleigh at Cove51 Salon from start to finish. The entire appointment felt luxurious and personalized. The consultation was thorough, and Kynleigh took the time to really listen to what I wanted while also offering professional recommendations that fit my hair and goals. I never felt rushed, and I appreciated how she explained everything throughout the process. The shampoo experience was absolutely amazing--more like a relaxing spa treatment than a typical salon visit. It was the perfect way to unwind and made the entire appointment feel extra special. Kynleigh did a beautiful job with my full/partial highlights, creating the perfect blonde that looks natural, bright, and dimensional. She also gave me a fantastic haircut and finished everything with a gorgeous style that left me feeling confident and refreshed. Her attention to detail, talent, and genuine care for her clients truly set her apart. Cove51 has such a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere, and the level of service was exceptional from beginning to end. If you're looking for a stylist who is knowledgeable, talented, and passionate about what she does, I highly recommend Kynleigh. I left feeling absolutely beautiful and can't wait for my next appointment! read more

This salon saved my wedding day! I had went to another salon that didn't do a great job on the highlights. They fixed it and made my hair color so pretty just days before my wedding day literally 4 days before. The hairstylists even asked who does my hair color because it's the perfect honey highlight brown that they want to do next. They got me in on a whim right away and understood that a bride should feel good about her hair on her wedding day. This means so much to me! Thank you!!! read more

Based on recommendation from my friend Scott F., I scheduled a cut with Meredith. She was absolutely fabulous! She's very friendly, listens, and most importantly, does a great job with the styling! I'm not a difficult cut, but still, she made it look great and gave great conversation, too. I particularly liked getting washed out in the Cove, it's got low lighting and is very zen like, plus I got a quick hot towel treatment at the end. Bottom line, this was a great cut, by a great stylist, at a great price. I'd recommend Meredith and Cove51 highly! read more

I'm of the opinion that when you go to get your hair done, you should walk out feeling like a million bucks. When I went to Christopher at Cove51 Salon, that happened. I was delighted. He's not only very talented, but he's an amazing human, too. Highly recommend Christopher. read more

Haleigh does my highlights and I love them more more every time, I've gotten my hair done by almost everyone at the salon and they are all so great!!! Every wash, color and/or cut I've gotten I've left very very happy. Will always be back. The shampoo room is extremely nice and quiet, they offer refreshments and to book out. They do everything they can to make me feel beautiful and taken care of. 10 out of 10 for me. read more

Haircut problems before it was fixed for the cut at least: - Not enough length cut of in certain places. - Not enough choppy layering added in to the haircut. - Not enough texture was added to the hair cut. - Not enough thinning out of the hair thickness. - The bangs in the picture were not even done on my haircut at all that were in the picture shown. read more

Cove 51 is outstanding. I'd trust anyone working there with my hair. I primarily see Caleb, who I appreciate for his skills, friendliness, and professionalism. One of my daughters has seen Christopher and so I saw him when Caleb was on a sabbatical. He was fantastic. Julia has done my hair once when my stylist had to call in sick and was also amazing. I've been going there for years and I've never had a bad experience. They hire quality people (and nice people, too). read more

I went in with my botched impulsive hair cut hoping to somewhat salvage some length, and Caleb did that and exponentially more!! Such a talented stylist, with an incredibly kind & uplifting spirit. I cannot say enough good things about him, I would definitely recommend everyone to get their hair cut with Caleb :) read more

Brittany was great. I needed a hair makeover and she nailed it. Plus she's so personable and sweet.

I love this salon! I have to say Kylie is a wonderful professional! She's always attentive, makes sure I am pleased with the result, and just a joy to chat with. I've gone to her three times, the first time was for a blowout. I did not even know she could make my hair look that amazing, I love her blowouts! Second time I went for a trim and again she did an amazing job, she had to also trim my layers that had some split ends and damage. Last week I went for hair coloring and it looks absolutely beautiful! She did exactly what I wanted and I've been getting compliments since. Amazing stylist and salon! read more

Moved to town somewhat recently and was in desperate need of a refresh. I was about to book with no issue a week out. Of course, I was never out at first to have a new stylist but everything came out great (and at a really reasonable price!). I had 8 inches cut and a full balayage done for $260 before tax and tip. Staff was all inviting and the space was very clean. I plan on using them for the foreseeable future! read more

Well, well, well ... after complaining that there walk-in system seemed to be non-existent - after two visits, one with an online appointment that " didn't go through" I watched the receptionist scrape off the "walk-ins welcome" sign (I was sitting in my car trying to find another salon) Thank you Cove 51 even though I will not be trying a third time read more

I've been putting off getting a haircut because finding a new hairstylist is such a PITA!! I would go back and forth on recommendations I've seen on some local Facebook groups. Finally after 3 months of living here, I made the appointment. I heard about this place from said FB group, though the stylist they mentioned wasn't available on the day/time I was looking for. I was trying to get a haircut for date night with my husband, we would be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. The online reservation was easy, I selected a long haircut with Mary Lu on Saturday the 24th of August at 5:15PM. I arrived exactly on time and Mary Lu greeted me at the counter. She sat me down and I showed her two pictures that I wanted my hair to look like. One picture was of me about two years ago with a long bob after it was curled. The second picture was a picture of a long bob but straightened and the caption said "soft layers." I also wanted to donate my hair so she went ahead and chopped off about 10 inches of my hair. After she went ahead and washed it and the cut began. She was very friendly throughout the appointment. Engaging in conversation here and there. She started blow drying my hair and cut it again a couple more times. I wasn't facing the mirror when I realized she already started to curl my hair! I thought the cutting part was really fast! I found it odd that she didn't show me what my hair looked like before she started curling. Other hair stylists I've been to always did this. So it was too late to say anything. The appointment ended exactly at 6PM. The curls looked great and I was happy. It wasn't until the next day when I washed my hair and tried to style it myself, I noticed that the layers she cut were SOO choppy! Nothing like the soft layers I wanted. Also looked like one side of my hair had shorter layers than the other side. She really did not take the time to look at the work she had done. I would have done so, if given the opportunity. I think that being the last appointment on a Saturday could have been a factor. Not cool to be rushing just to get out of work. She took a total of 45 minutes including the wash. A few days later I noticed I received an automated email on the day of my appointment: "Thank you so much for your visit with us on Sat, 8/24. Your feedback matters! Please take a moment to rate the services that you received." I immediately rated the experience 2 stars, just like this review. It's been over two weeks and I haven't received any feedback from the owner or hairstylist. I'm NOT coming back here and will share my experience with that FB group that recommended this place. read more

This was the 1st time to come to this salon. I brought my little one to have a fancy wash, head massage, cut and style. I made an appointment with Caroline and she was so patient with my active 6 y/o. She was the best!! This will be Ofelia's salon from now on and only with Caroline. The haircut was very stylish yet appropriate for a 6 year old. The place is located off eldorado in one of the new little shoppings and has plenty of parking. Inside is decorated with modern motif. It even has a glass/water/fountain? To relax you while you are having your hair washed and massaged. The prices are excellent. I only paid $25 for a girl's wash, massage, cut and style. I think that was fantastic!! Definitely check this place out! read more

I have been blonde for about 10 years and I'm naturally very dark chocolate brown. I moved to Texas about two years ago and finding a hair stylist has been so hard. I have seen Chris a handful of times and he is the nicest soul. I was driving into Dallas for a fancy salon and decided to give him a try. I finally feel like I found someone who listens to what I am wanting, sets reasonable expectations and actually produces what he says. For the first time in about two years, my hair is how I want it. I am very particular on the outcome of my hair and he truly does an amazing job. Sitting in his chair is a great experience. read more

One of the best experiences I've had the place is so relaxing and beautiful. I was serviced by Kylie and I will say she made the experience even better , amazing at the shampoo bowl and a good eyes to detail.I would highly recommend coming here and I will most definitely be coming back. 1000/10 read more

Picky lady alert! I did my research and decided to visit Cove 51. When I walked in, I could tell it was cool and hip, and well, I'm not. So Kylie was my stylist, and she was an absolute angel. She has magic in her hands. I was appropriately pampered, and I strutted out blonde and 10 years younger. I'll be back soon! read more

Meredith is absolutely wonderful. She's an amazing stylist (my hair has never looked this good) and she's awesome to talk to and tell stories with. I've gone to many other salons, including SportClips and the like, and the service and cut you get here is way above what you'd get there, and worth the extra $10. Plus, they're all VERY good with the mask policy, unlike places like SportClips where my last cut the guy had his nose out. Highly recommend this place. Support local McKinney businesses. read more

Love this place!!! Was looking for a good place to cut and color my hair and I found it. Julia is amazing and she really knows what she is doing. Plus, were they wash your hair is like a mini relaxation room. Have been a customer now for about a year. Highly recommend. read more

I recently got my hair colored at this salon. The stylist botched my hair, although she attempted to fix my hair I was not satisfied. On top of this I was passed off to two others employees to help both wash and dry my hair. By the time I left the salon you could visibly see the difference in color from my roots to my pre existing hair color. While I the stylist acknowledged the failed attempt to color match I was not met with any accommodations or attempts to discount or have another more experienced stylist attempt to color correct the mishap. I spent a total of 3-4 hrs to have my roots alone (no cut) done. My overall experience was subpar and disappointing. read more

5 Stars for my stylist- Meredith. However, on Nov. 30th, 1:30pm stylist at booth front right of salon did not enforce clear mask requirement for her male client. And they were chatting up a storm right next to sitting area for guests. I waited outside until he left. All staff had masks on & note on door said masks required. When I addressed the issue with girl at reception desk, she shrugged her shoulders. read more

I have found the one...yes ladies you know you move and have to blind date off of other recommendations and well it just doesn't work out. Well yesterday I finally found Julia! I had been recommended to try Cove51 and went online immediately to book my appointment which was super easy and has tons of options with so many stylists! Leading up to my appointment I received two reminder texts which is wonderful as I hate wondering if I am going to show up and be waiting for hours because they forgot to write me in! I showed up to Cove51 where there is plenty of parking and inside is welcoming and feels so calm. Julia listened to what I wanted and got right to work. The whole experience was amazing and I cannot wait to go back. If your looking for a new hairstylist she is the one...stop reading and go make an appointment!! read more

Ashley did my highlights and cut. I was super happy with results. She listens and takes her time to make sure you're happy with result. Vibe is welcoming . I will say that prices are on the higher spectrum in comparing them to Manhattan, NY salon prices. I would advise anyone using this fine salon to discuss exactly what you want with your stylist so that you are totally happy with results. Ashley is great! Thank you. See you guys in August. read more

I came to cove51 on Friday to just get a quick 1 inch trim and freshen up my layers. I've never gotten a worse haircut. I came with a nice shape and waist length hair, and I left with a completely different hair shape and 4 inches off. I called and they said I could come to get it fixed.. it was very nice of them to fix it for free and at first it looked good but when I went home and showered it just looked choppy and short. I'm so upset and regret ever going here in the first place. I came for 1 inch off and now some parts of my hair are about 6 inches shorter. I wish I would've spent my $70 dollars somewhere else because now I'm even more self conscious and going to have to wear clip in extensions for the next year until my hair grows back. read more

I had been here once before and the hair cut was okay nothing to rave about. However I went in again to see if they can schedule me a hair cut as walk in. The way the stylist and front desk handled you would have thought I asked for something completely absurd. 1000% as excellent as expected, based on the buckets of 5-star reviews this place has. The owner has designed the space not just for beauty & serenity, but for the comfort of clients & stylists. It's very spacious here, with high ceilings & a pleasantly dim/semi-private area where your hair is washed. I loved that detail! Music is at a reasonable volume & the place smells fantastic (but not coated in candles/perfume/incense). I booked online (I value this option greatly) & took whomever was available at my desired time. Counting my lucky stars that I got ASHLEY. What a lovely person to spend an hour with - knowledgeable, confident, she skillfully transformed my boring stacked bob - which never felt right - into something more chic that I adore. I have found my new forever-stylist & it just made my week. read more

LOVE my hair again thanks to Caleb!! Not only is he truly talented, but he takes his time and makes sure you walk out of the salon with the perfect hair!! Did not give the cut that I asked for and showed a picture of. Requested to go 1 1/2 to 2 inches shorter "be generous and do not be afraid of taking to much off".
