I am a Bon Voy gold member, so I spend most of my hotel stays in Marriott properties. All staff including the engineers were pleasant, helpful, and professional. However, This Courtyard needs to be updated and soon. I have stayed here during multiple industrial Fire schools and the last time was great. However there were plenty of facility issues. All of our team stayed here and each noted odd odors like moldy. wet dog smells I their rooms and I had the same issue. Engineering cleans my AC and the odor improved, but never vacated fully. Hallways smelled fabulous, but our 6 rooms were earthy at best. Many of us had internet connection issues on the room TVs. Most were corrected by the second day. In my case the engineers were in my room (152) for 1.75 hours working on hardware and conversing with IT. The unit functioned when they left and failed again within minutes. As stated, the second the TV issues were corrected . Some room bathroom tubs and thresholds need replaced or repaired. Tubs have caulking missing, etc. some staff noted that planned renovations are pushed due to the frequent in flux of patrons due schools, camps concerts, sporting events and others. Issues noted here are also present at all the Marriott properties in the area that are not "luxury" facilities. Kudos to the staff from the front desk, engineers and cleaning professionals. You DID NOT DISAPPOINT! POSITIVES: 1) Walking distance to Luge's Italian, McAlesters, Sushi and a Starbucks. 2) Staff as noted above. 3) convenience to highway and other restaurants like Stella's Cafe, Gringos, Cooper's, Walk-On's and Saltgrass. May be back next July. Marriott you need to look over your facilities nationwide. My travels reveal a similar trend to those noted on the review in locations across TX, OK, WY, KY, WV, VA, SD, NE and MO. read more

I'll start by saying that I am a Marriott fan. However, last month's stay, was not fun. But, I will say the front desk clerk was very friendly. In my first room, the valve handle for the tub/shower spun 360 degrees. Makes you wonder when the room was cleaned last??? Packed up everything to move to another room. The floor in 232 was very unlevel. The a/c made a "knocking" noise all night. Their site says this property was recently renovated. Apparently, they did not mean the 2nd floor. read more

As far as Courtyards go, this one is pretty low on the totem pole for me. It starts and stops with my room smelling like a wet dog, an A/C not running the fan when you set it to, a shower thats either room temp or piping hot (other reviews have noted the same thing) and a door that would either not close or not scan my key card. And while the hotel is cheap, it was an annoying visit for me. read more

Everything from customer service to rooms to their kindness. Tara and Paige on Night Shift well amazingly great with greetings, and very inviting to the facility. This hotel is clean, roomy, at a very nice location and in a very well lit area. I have been to many Marriotts courtyard, but this one beats all of them, including great customer service. Office. This is likely one of the worst Marriott''s I've ever stayed in. We usually only stay in Marriotts. I'm only giving two stars (and not one) because it's relatively clean and the staff is kind from what we experienced. While the hotel looks nice on the surface that's about where it stops. It feels like it might have been a different brand that was remodeled to a Marriott (but I can't be sure) The rooms have absolutely no light... when you're here for a wedding and need to get ready this is just extra frustrating. The shower knob gives you either all cold or all hot. It doesn't stay in between literally it won't stay... it slips. Now the sink in the bathroom--this is baffling to me--is so far back with lots of counter in front of it that washing your face becomes some sort of Olympic work out. The bathroom door also doesn't even shut, so that's fun. The door to the room also doesn't close completely unless you strong arm it. The sheets and towels are a little scratchy but that I can live with. The plugs next to the beds are unusable as they are set up vertically and no plugs stay in them at all as they just fall out in these particular ones, so don't even think about charging your phone on the nightstand. Additionally, we requested more towels for our room in our app. They marked it as they brought them, and they never actually did... we were in the room the whole time. I'm not sure we had many options, looks to be a couple other Marriott options though in the area and next time we will likely head to those instead... We are pretty frequent Marriott guests so this is disappointing for me and I would hope in the future locations would try to be up to the standards of the brand overall. read more

A nice looking hotel that has some deep flaws! Checking in was a process... not for me but the clerk sure seemed to have some issues! Question after question... type this in type that in... ask a Another question... ask what floor I want to be on just to say they don't have rooms on that floor... hint for the future... when someone comes in late at night... just give them a room! A check in process that takes 15 to 20 mins is not what anyone needs! The room itself looked nice! The bed was good! But even though it was 45 outside I could not get the air conditioning to stop blowing. I like to sleep when it's cold but the next morning it's hard to get out of bed when it's that cold! The shower was blistering hot or barely warm... the sink would only get luke warm at best. And the lights in the room sucked... nothing but dim light in the room itself. Then the plugs by the side of the bed were so loose that the plug for my charger would not stay in it... it just kept falling out! Lastly... what is this pay for breakfast thing they have going on?!? Really! Nothing included with the room... not even the coffee! Yep... I'll find another place to stay when I come up this way again. read more

Stayed here the weekend before Christmas and the bartender Hanna and the front desk lady Anastasia were just absolutely amazing!!!! We set in the lobby and watched Christmas movies and had the most amazing time. It was such a great time with our family and having such amazing staff made it even better. This is a warning! I am currently working with Marriott because my credit card is being continuously hit by this particular courtyard with charges. They are denying that they are doing this, but I believe they are purposely doing low amounts to see if the card is still active in order to Charge larger fraudulent amounts. If you have stayed at this courtyard within the last couple of weeks, you may want to check your credit card statements. I am a titanium member who used points for a one night stay and they have already racked up several small charges on my credit card. read more

Serves Starbucks coffee but evening attendant said and I quote "I only have espresso and they didn't train us on how to make specialty drinks because coffee is a morning drink, though if you tell me how to make it I'll try". No lights in room, called down to front desk they had to check the breaker box, ended up being a blown breaker. The bar had enough Woodford reserve to do one drink, enough crown royal for one drink. No blow dryer in the room, called the front desk, they brought one down and stated they assumed the last occupant stole the blow dryer. Took a shower and the drain was so slow ended up standing in water up past our ankles. Breakfast is NOT included in your stay. To enjoy the courtyard you had to knock on the door to be let back in as the door fob was broke. Too many other hotels across the street and down the road for anyone to stay at this one. read more

I really enjoyed our weekend at the Courtyard Marriott. My husband and I usually stay at the Hilton Garden Inn when we travel, but my in-laws are Marriott people and they booked the rooms. First, this hotel is HUGE. It is deceptively large. The bar area is huge and the business center has more than one computer. It is nice to be able to spread out and not be super close to strangers. Second, when we walked into our rooms we were shocked to find a Jacuzzi tub! What?! Can you say second honeymoon?! This was such a nice surprise and made us feel pampered. Third, I was impressed with the dining staff. The first night we had nightcaps and we took advantage of the Starbucks, as well. Both morning and night, the employees went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. If we come back to Tyler in the future, this is definitely where we will stay! read more

Without a doubt, one of the best Courtyard Marriott properties that I've ever stayed at. The property is located in an area that you can access fast food places and restaurant venues on foot, as well as entertainment venues such as a Carmicke Cinema across the street. It is also off of Highway 69, which has easy access southbound toward Jacksonville, TX, as well as a couple miles from the heavier traffic on Loop 323 in Tyler. This alone is a huge deal, considering if you want an alternative to eating at the Courtyard's bistro (which is also good, yet pricey). Now, to the hotel. What can I say? This hotel has the look, feel and smell of a new property. In addition, there are certain touches within the room and property that give it a feeling of being slightly more upscale than its fellow Courtyard properties nationwide. There is just a bit something extra that was given to this property that you can just feel from the moment that you enter it. My room this time had a double bed, and I had a certain Marriott expectation on how it would look like prior to entering. Upon entering, the first words out of my mouth were "Holy moly, this room is nice!" I may not have said moly, but whatever. The bathroom was standard, as well as the fridge, microwave, television, and coffee maker. Yet the artistry and comforts of the room, with the large desk + extended table (a Courtyard staple) & comfortable easy chair) + armoire was clearly noticeable. The bed itself was not too hard, and not too soft, so I was good. I even heard that there was some rooms that have jacuzzis in within them as well. The amenities were of expected good quality: hot tub, small wading pool area, reasonably-sized gym and two sets of washers & dryers. The WiFi was pretty good, and the bistro's Starbucks-quality coffee was delicious. The bistro lobby + lobby on the opposite side seemed to be occupied with business folks at all hours, which is actually a good thing when it comes down to networking. Yet if I wanted some space and didn't want to go to my room first, I would step outside on the patio area. There was an exceptionally large quantity of chairs and sofas outside, in addition to a fire pit. Surprised that this area wasn't used more often by others during my stay. Customer service? Quite good. In fact, very good, in my opinion. It certainly shows whenever you have employees bend over backwards for you. This is one of those properties that if you have a little discomfort with anything, they will work hard to make it right for you. I didn't have that myself, yet I witnessed a couple of business folks that needed pampering. And of course, they got it from the wonderful front desk staff here. The bed was nice, clean, and comfortable. The room was nice and I love how the AC worked fairly well. This particulate hotel could use some renovation, especially in the bathroom. The shower dial was loose and was not attached to the wall. The water from the shower did run well. There were yellow stains on the walls in the bathroom. The hotel was a little loud. There were multiple times each day around night time where I heard people talking and laughing loudly. Overall, this was not a bad stay but not worth the price. This is my go-to hotel when I travel to Tyler. The rooms are always very clean and well-appointed, the staff exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and I like the location as it is near plenty of places to eat. There is a small bar in the lobby that pours drinks strong enough to cold cock you and the seating areas in the lobby are very comfortable. Parking is ample and well lit. They have some of the more comfy beds I have encountered while traveling, and the clientele are not scruffy so there's not a lot of late night door slamming. All this for a very reasonable price. read more

I stayed their from July 29th to August 1st. From the front desk staff that checked me in, Kenzi in the Bistro/ Lounge (she had the sweetest smile and could make a good drink), the GM, Victoria that served me breakfast, and the housekeeper, Amanda. They went above and beyond to make sure I had the best stay possible. I was running late this morning, and Carmen couldn't fix me breakfast, I know I would have been very happy with it. The room was VERY clean, it had everything I needed as far as electric outlets for my Laptop, Oxygen Concentrator, Phone charger, and battery charger for my Oxygen machine. Although the menu is limited in the Bistro, there is something for everyone. The food was great and it was presented well. They have a nice gym, a beautiful pool, and guest laundry services. I would recommend the Courtyard by Marriott / Tyler to anyone. I plan on staying there again when I go back around Christmas time. Thank you to all the staff. read more

I don't know if she had a bad day or I'm an Asian and speak with my own accent make her feel not comfortable. She didn't even say hi or smile. I travel a LOT, mainly all around Texas and stay in Marriott properties exclusively. I am sadly all to familiar with Fairfield and Courtyard standards. This property is clearly renovated and has the new style lobby. It's laid out a bit different than most and while it isn't the same shock value as the Hammond in Allen, Tx or the downtown Amarillo Courtyard it is very nice. Located in the newer safe part of Tyler across from a movie theater and a wing stop. What more could you want?? Plenty of space inside to relax and have some personal space to use a computer while getting a snack or watching the game, go Spurs?! Sign up for Marriott Rewards, it's free and pays off big if you travel even mildly. The suites are HUGE, like probably the biggest room I've had in a Courtyard huge. Big kitchenette, living room with sofa sleeper, side table with chairs and a TV on a full size desk. Bedroom attached is spacious with nice bathroom and detached sink area. The bed is typical top quality Marriott. Side note for travel junkies: the rooms get pitch black dark (awesome curtains), there are plugs close to the bed for technology and TWO TVs (one for someone else). read more

Stayed here while visiting family over Christmas as was pleasantly surprised. I grew up in the area, so I knew to not expect much from a Tyler hotel, but honestly I had no complaints. It's an obviously very new property, but the room was clean, comfortable, and had a great bed (I've stayed at much more expensive hotels with much worse mattresses). The staff were all friendly and helpful, and it's a convenient location on the south end of town (the end of town that you want to stay at if you're not familiar with Tyler). I would stay my experience here was good enough to sell me on the Courtyard by Mariott brand, and I'll consider them as an option the next time I'm traveling and want a cheap place to stay. read more

Very clean, nice brand-new hotel. Opened about a month ago in June 2010. This was my first time in Tyler, TX - - so I really can't compare it to any other property here, only to other properties I have stayed at. But being brand-new of course everything is going to be clean. I really like the decor throughout the whole property and the rooms. It's a nice simple and contemporary decor. (No more ugly green carpets in a Marriott - - yay!!!!) Indoor pool... 24/7 gym... spacious lobby area to chill and relax. Plus there's a great outdoor lounge area with a bunch of comfy chairs and chaises. It's a little bit south of the 323 loop, but I would definitely stay here again. Friendly staff! read more

She was very nice, and was regretful when she had to inform us that only one night of our trip was available at the Tyler property. At the time, I was disappointed but figured my husband and I would wing it and find another place for the 2nd night, or just go home early. I asked Lexi if we could do a late checkout then, and she promptly accommodated our needs. The front desk was aware of the late checkout request, and made mention of it upon check in, so it was comforting to know we were not in a huge rush after our 1st night, and to know that the staff was coordinating information so well! We were there for my husbands' mothers' funeral, as well as a football game in which my son was playing. I didn't account for how tired and emotionally drained we would be after the services, so when we got back to the room, the late checkout was really appreciated! I want to get back to the check in process. We were helped by the nicest, most courteous young man by the name of Sa-Dal. His interpersonal skills were just great! He looked us directly in the eye, and spoke professionally and with great charm about the area. He made us feel at home and welcomed in a fashion not commonly encountered among service staff. Super nice kid! Our room was just gorgeous! Beautifully appointed, clean as if just remodeled, luxurious linens and tons of cozy towels and pillows! The Paul Mitchell products were a nice touch as was the tastefully understated décor. I felt like I had won the lottery in terms of value satisfaction. I loved it! After the funeral, we were so drained. We wished we could stay another night, although we knew they couldn't accommodate us. My husband wandered to the lobby to get a drink for me, and mentioned our exhaustion to the desk clerk. Sa-Dal found out about the funeral of my mother in law, and immediately found a way for us to stay. What a surprise, and a kind and generous effort they made on our behalf! We were so grateful! (And still are!) One more mention I feel needs to be made; as I was getting some fresh air, a young man approached me in his Marriott uniform, and shook hands with me introducing himself as a maintenance guy there. He asked me if all was satisfactory with our room. He urged me to let him know if there were any problems with anything in the room, a drippy faucet, a heat or ac issue, and he would attend to it personally. His name was Nathan. All that being said, I want you folks to know that I was an executive Chef for 25 years and I worked for some of your competitors during that time. I know the service industry as well as any professional I can think of. I know what training and good management look like, and this property and staff epitomized the highest of industry standards. I have been utterly won over as a lifetime Marriott guest as a direct result from the wonderful experience we had at Tyler. I stay at hotels weekly and travel to Tyler regularly. The new concept Courtyards in theory should be fabulous. Unfortunately this one is NOT. Yes this hotel is less than a year old, so the rooms are nice. But plan on eating elsewhere. The Bistro is not run the Marriott way as this hotel is a franchise owned by Image Hospitality. This hotel is poorly run and understaffed. I stayed at this location twice, two weeks in a row. The hotel had limited menu choices. As they were out of many food items on both visits. The salad that I ordered took 45 mins on the first stay and 40 minutes on the second stay to come to my table. In addition the, salad was missing crucial items that were listed on the menu. I felt so sorry on both visits for the young men working the Bistro. As they were taking the orders, working the register, making food and making drinks for the packed Bistro. This was the case on both my visits. I did contact the manager my first visit, but there was no improvement or additional staff during my second visit, so the Bistro is obviously not a priority. They must make their money with bodies in beds. If you are looking for a newish hotel in Tyler, you can stay here. But just beware. Since the Bistro is so poorly managed, makes me wonder how the housekeeping staff is managed too! read more

The hotel itself is fine. The room was mostly clean and the bed was comfortable. Minus 1 star for the coffee maker in the room missing some critical pieces and not being usable. Minus another star for the Bistro. After pulling an all nighter at work my co-worker and I came in and sat at the bar around 9AM to get some food and a beer. They were advertising beer sales and it was a Saturday morning so we figured no problem. When we asked for a Sierra Nevada the girl behind the bar just shook her head at us. She didn't say a word. When we repeated our request she just said "no." I am not sure if they weren't allowed to sell alcohol or what, but we were confused. If she would have offered some sort of explanation that would have been much better. We ended up going down the street and giving our business to the Rusty Taco, which I highly recommend. read more

All I am looking for in a hotel is good service, cleanliness, a good nights sleep, a good shower and a good cup of coffee in the morning. The Courtyard by Marriott seems clean and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel was overrun with noisy teenagers this visit. There was loud talking and yelling in the hall, slamming doors and even knocking on our door by "mistake" after 11 PM. My hubby and I both found the bed uncomfortable and neither of us got a good nights sleep. The shower: If you are a fan of water pressure, stay elsewhere. Since we didn't see a complimentary coffee station (or weren't directed to it) we tried the in room coffee maker. Mistake. I have never tasted a worse cup of coffee. So, to sum it all up +2 stars for cleanliness and friendly service. -3 stars for terrible nights sleep, bad shower and horrrrrible coffee. read more

I have stayed at many Marriott hotels, and have always been pleased in the past. But this experience with their Sales and Event staff was completely unacceptable. Communication was horrible- we always had to attempt several calls, emails and even in-person contact before getting any response. We were told in word and action that we were not important, even though we held 20 rooms, a double meeting space, and bar service-- all equaling several thousand dollars. Then, after OUR initiation of contact on a separate issue, we were told they were not honoring the bar service promised. It took multiple firm conversations before we got them to honor that- we thought. Then, once again in another conversation we initiated, they told us that they were taking away our contracted meeting space-giving it to another group whose contract came months after ours was signed. They had no help except to offer another hotel. After two days of scrambling, calling, we decided to leave Courtyard behind and moved all of our rooms and plans to a different hotel. These contractual breaches were unwarranted, unacceptable, and NOT tied to COVID. These happened because the staff was inept in keeping promises and making clients feel valued. read more

This is a hotel to avoid. In fact run from it. The smell from the deodorizer in the room was burning my throat, nose and eyes. Tried to air out but no success. If you want coffee and are an early riser...forget it. No coffee till 6:30. Used the gym today. Machines we filthy. The tv's barely worked, in fact I thought I was in a foreign country watching the machine TVs. No sanitizer and no towels. Marriott could and should do better read more

I recently stayed here over the Labor Day Holiday. We reserved rooms far in advance as we were here for a wedding. The rooms were blocked for the wedding party. It took a few attempts to make the reservations as the staff seemed unfamiliar with the way rooms were blocked. Nearly everyone in the wedding party had issues with check-in, rooms, the so called Bistro etc. Mother of the bride checked into her room and upon entering her room she opened the door to find a man standing naked. A double booked room? Unacceptable. The bride came back to her room after the wedding, and let me add this was THE honeymoon night and they decided to spend it at the "luxury" hotel they were already checked into...walked into an Empty room that had been previously set up by bridesmaids and groom men's for a honeymoon celebration. All tbe champaign, flowers, lingerie and everything GONE. Your first wedding night only comes once and you cant get it back. Poor newly married couples night ruined. The next morning we all decided to eat at the Bistro - food subpar, ordered items that were clearly stated on the small menu and were told sorry we dont have that. Kitchen closed and orders were not out had to ask where our food was and was told kitchen closed all orders were out when clearly there were several of us with receipts but NO food. The Bistro is over priced for the quality. The restroom reeked of sewer and in the stall was the sewer drain covered by a cardboard cut out with a large rock placed over it...quick fix? Unacceptable again. The manager was never there to address any issues. My overall point is for the price we paid at over $109/night the quality and service we received was desperately lacking. Marriott has an image out there that reads LUXURY....which is not what we experienced. A continental breakfast would be nice...even your low class hotels offer that. There are two mid-range hotels in Tyler, TX: this Courtyard Marriott, and a Hilton Garden Inn about a quarter mile away. Everything else in the area is of lesser brands/quality. As a business traveler in the area, they are the only two I would entertain staying at. I've stayed at both the HGI and this Courtyard and I wanted to voice my unequivocal preference for the Courtyard Marriott Tyler. For reference, I have top-tier status with both Hilton and Marriott, and typically log over 200 hotel nights per year across both brands. Comparing these two hotels from one week to the next, there was absolutely no comparison. The Courtyard feels much newer/fresher. The beds were both comfortable and clearly clean. The HGI on the other hand felt both tired and dusty: for example, I could see through the sheets and the duvet covers were mildly stained. The wireless internet connection was also superior at the Courtyard. My only criticism with this Courtyard property has more to do with the Courtyard brand - there is no complimentary breakfast option for Marriott Platinum Elite members. Compared to the HGI complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast for Hilton Diamond members, it's a bit of a let down. But on purely location-based criteria (the hotel itself, not the brand) the Courtyard is the clear winner. I also like that the Courtyard shares a parking lot with a handful of fast food restaurants (Wing Stop, Subway, etc.), which made grabbing a quick meal much easier. read more

I was staying alone so the cockroaches were great company and the stains on the sheets really brought me back to my foster home days.

I previously panned Courtyards, but this one is a good example of improvement made to their image. Many Courtyards are rehabbed and refits of other hotels. However, this one is brand new and improves Courtyard's image. Rooms were clean and nearly everything still seemed new. They even mistakenly recognized me as a Platinum member. Sorry I'm only Gold, but I'll take the free snack. Unfortunately where the hotel misses is the food options. I don't expect Courtyard to have room service or top notch meal options, but business travelers need a good breakfast. While the cafe does offer mostly full-service breakfasts, the quality isn't where I would like it. I would rather hit up Starbucks down the street or even a McDonalds. 4 stars for being the best Courtyard I have ever stayed in, but better breakfast is a must. Just wanted to start out by saying this review has nothing (mostly) to do with Covid. I booked a room through hotwire, which I've done for years without issues. We arrived to the hotel late one evening and the room we were placed in (not to mention the whole floor, really) had no A/C. It is summertime in TX, so it was HOTTTT, even at night. I went back downstairs to alert the front desk person, who was a very nice young girl, who initially said that they were "all booked, " but that they would figure something out when she called her GM. She said she would do that and also try to reset the breaker to see if that maybe made it work. Well, about 5-10 min later, she comes to our room (without a mask on, which i thought was strange because she had one on at the front desk. My husband noticed it in her back pocket. I think she may have just been nervous, as she seemed new. She was on the phone with the GM, who instructed her to move us to the same number room, just on a different floor. I noted this bc I thought it was interesting that that were rooms 240 and 340. Well, we get up to 340, and the A/C works. Yay! Very large room, too (just like the 1st). Was happy we were "taken care of." Well, a day or so later, while attempting to shower, the water would not get hot. Waited 15 min and went downstairs to the front desk to complain. While I was explaining, my husband called my cell and said it had FINALLY gotten "tolerable." Went back to the room and the water was ok and got a bit hotter, which was fine. I was like ok, no big deal, just have to wait for it to warm up. Well fast forward 2 days later, we waited straight up 30 min and it got barely close to Luke- warm. I was pissed, to say the least. Went BACK down to the front desk and explained. The front desk girl was very polite just like the first two. She explained that "they don't normally use those rooms" and that they used to be "jacuzzi " rooms and have had off plumbing since. Cool. That's probably why the girl the first night said they were "booked, " bc those are rooms that aren't used! Wtf? She moved us AGAIN to another room, which we had no complaints. Customer service at this place was pretty good, which is why I decided to give 2 stars. I am currently at a holiday inn Express that is apparently a 2.5 star hotel while this one was 3 and it is extremely better. In all 3 rooms I was in at Courtyard Marriott, the shower curtains did not reach the floor, either, which caused water to get everywhere. A couple of the front desk employees were also wearing their masks under their noses which is pointless and counterproductive. This place needs some training and remodeling. It also felt really sneaky to me that they were also trying to book rooms that were routinely not used. I realize times are hard and people are trying to make money, but c'mon, Courtyard, I thought ya'll were better than this? I will never forget this experience and will doubtfully stay in another facility of yours again. read more

The location was perfect for finding a place close by to have dinner.

This is by far one of my most favorite hotel stays. Not only is the facilities nice and clean but the staff goes beyond to be hospitable. They accommodated the needs of my elderly parents and showed compassion in a tough moment for me. I'm grateful this is where we stayed and will be returning to this location anytime I'm in Tyler. I'm thankful for Kandice and Heather. They are amazing. read more

I travel often for business. I usually stay at Hilton brands with Marriott running a close second. The Hilton Garden Inn was $295 - what? So I chose the Courtyard Marriott at $164. I booked online and requested the first floor and foam pillows. When I checked in and asked if I had been given a first floor room, I had to wait a few minutes while somebody went to see if I could have this room.?? Once in my room I looked everywhere for the TV remote. Called the front desk and they brought me one. It only worked part of the time so I went back to the front desk to ask if they would replace the batteries. She looked everywhere and could not find batteries. In the meantime another guest came to the desk to say one of the beds in his room had the covers pulled down and ruffled and he wasn't sure if they forgot to finish making it or what. The two front desk people discussed quietly and then asked him what he wanted? He was very polite and asked if they could move him. They said no they were sold out. The female asked the guest if he wanted her to come change the sheets. Not wanting to be a problem he said no he guesses it could just stay that way. The front desk said they would make sure it got changed tomorrow. Then she turns to me and says she will need to go get a remote out of another room and bring it to me. So somebody checking in to the sold out hotel is not going to have a remote. This is a good location and in this small town the choices are limited but there are too many issues here. When you travel you want things to go smoothly once you check in to your hotel. The staff is very friendly and they are trying to accommodate. ***Now I know why they had to check the room before giving it to me. There is a strong smell of sewer gas! A bad stain on the floor too. I won't return to this hotel. read more
