We had a nice stay here over the summer while visiting some cousins in the area. The hotel was clean, our room was as well. Front desk staff was beyond accommodating with me traveling alone with my two littles. They even hooked us up with a joining room once my parents arrived. The pool was mostly empty so we took a nice swim the morning of check out. The fitness center has a couple of treadmills, bicycles and just a few strength training machines/accessories. Enough to get the job done for a short stay. The bistro for breakfast was a little pricey and the staff was not as accommodating as the front desk but the food was standard. We'd definitely consider this spot again if coming back. read more

Overall you know what you're getting when you check into a Marriott, and this place didn't disappoint! Super comfy beds, nice sized rooms, and upgrades for Marriott Bonvoy members. Marriott always treats us super well and we appreciate being able to rely on them for a comfortable stay. The room was clean where it needed to be (the bed, the bathroom) but the carpet wasn't as clean as it should have been and there were some dicey mystery crumbs all over the floor. The elevators were also breaking down quite a bit but thankfully there were other elevators available not too far away and if you're able, the stairs were pretty quick. read more

Our stay at Courtyard Norwalk was terrible. I travel quite a bit both for business and personally and this was the worst experience I have had. We had no hot water for two of the four nights. Worse, even though the hotel was fully aware of the issue, they chose not to notify the guests in any way, despite the fact that they have all of our contact information (text, email, etc.) or they even could have put up a simple sign anywhere in the lobby. We were unable to shower for three days. Worse than camping. The GM, John Agabey, was condescending, rude and dismissive. Not what I would expect at a Marriott, especially in a first world country. read more

This is your typical Courtyard hotel. It's located near office buildings, seemingly used primarily by business travelers. I stayed here for a business trip a few weeks ago and my stay was fine! The room was clean and fairly spacious, and it was pretty quiet. There's a small market with snacks and a restaurant that is only open for breakfast and dinner. I missed the breakfast hours one day on my way out, but the front desk associate was nice enough to still get me coffee. I very much appreciated this! Still, wish they had longer options or offered lunch, as there isn't much else within walking distance. read more

Located across from some of the office parks and apartments, this location is obviously used by business travelers and others passing through Norwalk. They have clean rooms, reasonable rates for April, service is slower but they have few staffers, and parking free around the building. Some room bookings come with meals, others don't so check. Check-in was smooth online and picked up cards and left a deposit card of $20. Nice and easy. Basic amenities if you need them like a toothbrush. Bring your own water though, they charge $7 for each of the bottles in the room. Some of the furniture is a little bit old and doesn't quite close properly, and the mini fridge was completely empty and off so you have to turn it on and make it cold. However the room was facing a nice and quiet side and not the street, and they have a courtyard between the rooms with green space. They are eco friendly with bigger bottles of shampoo and soap, so this is not a place where you get little sample bottles to take home. Elevators are on the old side and very slow, but they work. It's clear they've done some renovation here to make it look nicer, but there's still some areas like in the bathroom where you can see some patches that need to be cleaned up (towel rack falling off the wall and some moldy areas by the tub that need some re caulking). Check out was easy, called the front desk and they checked me out remotely. Overall a great deal, and a clean bed to stay the night in is all we needed and what we received! read more

Stayed here for several days. My room was clean and spacious. The lobby is also clean and has a Bistro with a bar which is convenient if you need to grab a bite or if you need a late snack without leaving the premises. I ordered from the Bistro twice but only ate my food once. My French fries had a hair in them and so definitely not fit for consumption. I ordered tots a couple of days later, and was glad I did bc they were both hair free and delicious Customer service is friendly and cordial majority of the time but not consistent. I also liked that housekeeping is daily without having to request it. Things are back to pre pandemic times There is a beautiful courtyard outside that has a fire pit table for those chilly days or evenings. The pool is indoors and heated to enjoy year round. There are quiet hours from 10p to 8a which is super family friendly if you are traveling with kiddos. During my stay, it was nice and quiet during the weekdays. I really liked the option to use my phone as a remote by scanning a code on the tv. This is a great perk for anyone (me) that doesn't like to touch the hotel remote. read more

Stayed at the Courtyard Norwalk numerous times since moving from Fairfield County three years ago, and our experience has always been top notch. The location, renovated rooms, ample parking, small but well-appointed fitness center, spacious lobby with Bistro and breakfast bar are all wonderful. By it is the well trained, polite and accommodating front desk staff that sets this Marriott apart from other options in the area. They have a positive, can-do attitude and seem genuinely happy to worth there. I look forward to our next visit. read more

I stayed here, less than a mile from my home, after a long night that was filled with issues (at my home, not the hotel). I came in extremely tired, needing a room and hoping to finally get some rest. This hotel is currently under renovations, but the work they have done is impressive. My room was completely updated, fresh and modern. You could tell there was careful thought and consideration put into the updates and it wasn't just thrown together. Impressive. My room was spacious with a lovely view out to the courtyard, which was lively. They have a beautiful outdoor space that you can take full advantage of on a nice day. I loved my perfect black out shades, and not a hint of light got in my room until I woke up and opened them. Sometimes it's the little things that mean a lot. Parking is ample, but due to construction, it's hard to figure out where to enter. I'm sure this will be corrected soon. Downside, while they had a mini-Starbucks for breakfast food, everything was for purchase and there were no perks for Titanium status. How hard would it be to let us have a bagel or muffin on-the-house? Overall, I would recommend staying here to any of my family and friends who are coming to visit. read more

We stayed here twice in the last month, while visiting nearby relatives. We've stayed in others nearby on Main Av in the past. This is a clean comfortable hotel. The staff is great, especially Juanita at the front desk who handled our checkin both times. She is very welcoming and helpful, even when we caught her once just 5 minutes before her shift change! In fact, her great attitude was one of the reasons we came back to this hotel another time so soon! We also enjoyed the clean pool. A few things worth knowing: - There is a section of first floor rooms that allow pets. We stayed near them, and there was no noise or other problems. The grassy areas near there were clean, too. - They are building a fire pit area in the courtyard that looks like it will be really nice! Our room was on the courtyard, and work they were doing never impacted our stay. - The on-site bar wasnt open part of the time. I am unsure of the hours they are keeping right now. - The main entrance is being updated, so drive to the ramp facing Main Av, towards the south end. We will be happy to stay here again on our next trip to Norwalk! read more

Don't expect much from this hotel. They put lipstick on a pig for their renovation. Rooms are dingy and outdated. This hotel DOES NOT include breakfast which is shocking for a suburban Courtyard. Their snack bar and restaurant prices are outrageous as well. Additionally, they don't provide coffee in the lobby for guests and you have to pay out the wazoo for it. The final straw was the billing and points. They incorrectly placed food charges on my account and those still have not been rectified. I also have not received any points for my stay. Not a hotel that lives up to the Marriott standard. Pass on this one and at least find a hotel that will provide coffee and breakfast. read more

This was sadly my worst hotel experience ever. The AC in my room was broken and either was on extremely cold high blast or not on at all. So I had to sleep in the very humid heat or the freezing tundra. The repair person tried to fix it but just pressed buttons over and over but nothing was actually remedied. He also mentioned "you're lucky, your tv is working, a lot of others aren't working so at least you have that!" The phone lines didn't work in the ENTIRE hotel apparently...which also makes no sense? So if I ever had a question or request I had to go down to the other side of the hotel to the front desk. The single use waste in this hotel is also absolutely out of hand. Everything is wrapped in plastic and I asked for a mug of hot water and the woman at the bistro was extremely irritated that I would ask her such a request. She was blatantly annoyed with me asking for a regular mug and not a throw away mug. I expressed that I didn't want to accumulate more waste than I already had and wanted a reusable mug and she had zero interest in helping me and was obviously angry I would ask such a question. The cleaning service also threw away my food in my room, which was left overs I intended to eat for dinner. I told the lady at the front desk and she didn't seem even remotely phased either and simply said I could have some chips and soda from the snack shop to replace it. It honestly seems like the majority of people working here have no interest in helping customers. read more

I stayed back in March in one of his stash in Orlando Florida office service. The pool is almost in the parking lot now relaxing at all front desk when I first got there they were really nice young Opry people the next day the woman was awful my sister wanted to pay for one night, they didn't tell her she had to email her credit card didn't give us any information. I'm trying to cash out they gave us attitude. I was two hours waiting for them to get my sister's information because one person locked one other person at the end oh yeah, it's been here all her information she did pre-pay for you already after two hours. I stayed an extra night, awful room service never came the next day. I asked room service they were right next-door to me if they could give me towels, so I'm going to Daisy's in the same towels. Oh yes, I asked again at 1 o'clock in the afternoon or you're here I say yes still no towels I try to cash out another problem a Parking they want to charge you $20, there's no parking when you get there. If you do you have to park in the back of the building no security no nothing and walk. It was awful experience the bed was comfortable. The room was pretty but it's just for adults sleep and get out. breakfast is good if you're in a special diet, nothing to fill you up Coffee was wrapped up by 1030 am I asked for coffee for the machine in my room they only had decaf they ran out of the regular Well that's not going to do anything Does an offer experience $400 later nothing special read more

The hotel itself appears like an older Courtyard (judging from the exterior and interior) but is still clean and with easy check in and check out. The hotel was pretty quiet when I stayed there. I do see that others have had issues with noise and service. I would recommend this place especially for someone just looking for a place to sleep during a road trip! read more

So for the quality of my room, I'd have to agree with the existing 3/5 Star rating - but having worked in the industry I feel a hotel is so much more than that. It's service, and this place has quality staff. Attentive, positive, and efficient. Enjoyed engaging with them. Also, the courtyard and lobby are very nice! The room just had a few nicks here and there (gap where the carpet meets the threshold to bathroom tile, mounted night stands ripped from wall and pushed back in leaving noticeable marks). Water pressure could've been better as well but not terrible. Again, great hotel and seeing as a 5 start hotel goes for a good sum of $$$ I believe this review is fair! read more

This was base camp for our Babymoon weekend away. The person at the desk who checked us in, Matt, was a very nice guy and did his best to be helpful. Our room was on the first floor since I mentioned being pregnant when I made the reservation, which we appreciated. They do have a gym and a pool. We did not get around to using either tho. The room was nice and clean. A single serve coffee maker, extra bedding, and a blow dryer were in the room. Our bathroom had the vanity outside the toilet/shower area so 2 people can do different things at once. There was a nice chair for sitting and a desk built into the dresser area. I was a bit confused as to why the tv and bed didn't face each other, but that may be a personal quirk. Our final morning, I decided to try the in hotel cafe called "The Bistro" for breakfast. As you can see from my pictures, the food looks appetizing enough and they serve Starbucks coffee 24/7 I'm told. What bothers me is the cost. I'd accept coffee with a name brand costs more, cuz it does everywhere, but a breakfast sandwich/french toast/and side of bacon costing $20 +/-??? Nope. That (massive) flaw aside, it was a nice 2 nights stay. Though our second night, the people in the next room sounded as if they were engaged in an exorcism. Drawer banging, wood hitting something, a child crying, a loud male voice...it was ridiculous! It wasn't the tv either. read more

I stayed here regularly (weekly for a matter of months) back in 2012/2013, and found my experience to be mediocre. Positives: - nice, big TVs - sliding glass balconies ensure fresh air (a nice rarity) Negatives: - checked-in on one occasion to be greeted by an unflushed toilet, complete with contents; front desk seemed unfazed when I called to report it, asking only if I'd like to move rooms - flimsy, thin mattresses that seem to cave-in (some of the worst, ever!) - mattress covers don't fit the bed nor stay on - pillows: either foam or down "knots"/clumps (lumpy) - no earplugs available, for purchase or otherwise (there's a Walmart nearby, if needed) - wake-up calls contained advertising messages (strange & atypical) - only processed food items available for breakfast at the bistro All in all, I'd recommend finding an alternative if possible. read more

We are Marriott Platinum Elite members who travel quite a bit. We usually have stayed at a full service Marriott but we were in Norwalk, CT and were none in this area so we gave this a try. Let me start by saying this Marriott property is by far the worst we have ever been to. When you walk in, it has a very bad smell. They gave us a room on the fourth floor and when we stepped out of the elevator it was so hot and there's was such a bad smell in the hallway and in our room. We called downstairs and they gave us a new room on the 3rd floor. She said that she was going to have someone bring the key. We waited and waited but no one came. So we had to drag all of our bags and venture again outside in their smelly and HOT hallway and go downstairs to check on the hold up. NOTE: The whole first floor has the AC on but the rest of the hotel doesn't. We asked her for the key and she said that she was doing it right now (I guess she must have forgot about us). We get the key and then went to the 3rd floor but it was still HOT with no AC in the hallways. (Must be so they don't have to pay more money for putting AC on the other floors). They gave us a large suite but the AC was very loud and not working very well. The inside was very dated but we choose to stay since it was very late and there was no other Marriott nearby. We would not recommend this Marriott...try another place instead. read more

I've stayed at several different Courtyards, and this is probably one of my favorites. It's situated in a pretty quiet town, but if you drive less than 5 minutes, there is a plaza with a Walmart, Marshalls, Home Goods, etc.. Parking was a little hard to find, since the lot is smaller than usual, but we managed. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and assured that we would be taken care of immediately, since there was a customer ahead of us. We noticed immediately the 'signature' Courtyard furniture and 'look'. Despite the usual, this hotel was kept very, very clean and organized. The dining area (where the hotel restaurant is) was clean and inviting. We were taken care of pretty quickly! The receptionist was attentive and talkative (in a good way!). She also gave us a room with a balcony, which was much appreciated! Our room was bigger than others we've used. It was also thoroughly clean and neat. The beds were comfy, and the pillows were like clouds. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, but I did use the gym! Obviously, it was small (like most hotel gyms), but I got my **** done. It was also organized, so no complaints there. We ate at this restaurant for breakfast (since it was included) and we were not disappointed! It was so yummy, cooked fresh and to order, and easy to get. It was so much better than your standard buffet, where the food sits and lingers. Definitely a cozy, clean hotel and worth the visit. read more

I was recently working locally and needed to stay over for a night, and considering this hotel was close to my destination the following day it seemed logical to stay here. The lobby is nice, modern and basically the standard layout for the Marriott by Courtyards across the country (I've stayed in a few of them). The staff at the desk is friendly as you might expect them to be and they offer the standard round' the clock coffee in the lobby, a fireplace and plenty of places to sit, relax or catch up on some work. The room I had wasn't anything terribly special and is beginning to show its age, although it did have a balcony and overlooked the courtyard which looked pretty, well lit and enjoyable if I were staying for any length of time. The room was clean and all, but seemed like the mattress might be due for replacement soon and maybe some of the furnishings as well. It's a worthwhile place to stay . . . despite the need for updates, you generally get a consistently nice place to stay when it comes to Marriott properties. read more

I have to give them credit for service. While the lobby is spacious, the overall hotel itself is only okay. In terms of service, it was excellent! The front desk (I believe it was Brittany) was super friendly and I asked her if they sold pre-packed oatmeal since I wanted to eat something hearty before a 6 am workout. She actually went in and gave me her own oatmeal, which was excellent. The hotel itself is also very clean and I slept very well. However, a few things that could be improved on are: a) Limited food options for vegans at the lounge/restaurant. I don't even think they had a veggie burger or a veggie wrap. b) The gym was quite small c) Location is great for businesses in the area, but unfortunately, there isn't much else in the area. Don't let the lobby fool you, this hotel is not updated. I was in town for work for training so I was stuck here for a week, which was about 6 days too long. The hotel is relatively clean, but outdated. My thermostat's battery was dying so the temperature would not regulate, but when I called to have it fixed they responded promptly. Also, my tv remote didn't work the whole time I was there even though I alerted the front desk to the issue a few times. I didn't have a rental car while I was in town, so I was stuck using the free shuttle to get to and from work every day. The concept of the free shuttle is nice, but sometimes I would have to wait 30 mins even though they advertise a small radius that they operate in. Despite all my unfortunate experiences, they staff was very friendly. read more

Lobby/Food: Lobby has a great look to it- very large, open, tons of seating and lounge areas. Starbucks in lobby, but only 1 roast. Happy Hour available but several items on list unavailable. Drinks my coworkers got were made from mixes. Breakfast was great, not included though (chose via menu and pay per item). Good oatmeal. Amenities: Wifi available. A small gym with about 5 machines. Pool. Room: Bathroom was great and clean; shower head nice. Beds were nothing fancy, nothing special, I didn't get that 'woohoo i'm in a hotel' feeling... my sheets had what looked like blood stains on them. TV access to movies under $10, tv channels. A/C worked properly. About $200 a night but I've seen similar-class rooms for half of that. read more

We are here in town for a funeral, booked online through hotels dot com, so I can't speak to their reservation services. We normally stay at a different hotel but they had no king/queen bed rooms left, do we chose this to be close to family. Room is ..o.k., nothing spectacular, king size bed decent, mattress a little older but still holding up well. Only issue with our room is the outside patio door to parking lot is sealed off, no big deal, but huge leaker of cold air from outside. They have a bistro in the lobby with "for purchase" breakfast, $60 for today's breakfast of 2 adults, 2 kids & baby. Had to search for help to order, but then it was very quick & accurate. Most hotels in this price point include breakfast, this alone will probably have us not stay again. Desk staff very friendly & helpful! read more

Went to check in to find out the pool is closed. So there is construction and no pool canceled and left to go to another hotel. I've stayed at the Courtyard many times for business trips. It's a pretty basic hotel, with nothing particularly noteworthy. The staff is really great though, always friendly and recognizes me when I come back even after a decently long time. Gym is just the basics but in good working condition. Haven't used the pool. I discovered recently that their hotel shuttle is pretty flexible. I asked about a good way to get to South Norwalk, where all the good restaurants tend to be, and they offered to just drive me in the shuttle. Definitely nice not to have to drive all over the place. Only downside I've found is that the Wifi is TERRIBLE. I would love it if I could pay money to get a decent network connection. As is, the network is barely serviceable for even basic email. If you're going to need to get some work done and be online, you'll definitely want to bring your own wireless service. read more

Stayed one night this past weekend with my son. Overall, the hotel was very good. The front desk staff went above and beyond our entire stay to help us. Check-in was great, and they took the time to explain everything about the hotel and what was covered in our rate. The hotel definitely has everything one would need for a quick weekend getaway. The market has things available 24 hours, the Bistro had good hours and the lobby/restaurant areas were very nicely decorated, new and comfortable. The Bistro customer service was lacking a bit, however. There wasn't any formal ordering process and it seemed chaotic during breakfast time. I had a free starbucks "beverage" coupon and they said it was good for coffee only. Have the coupon say Free Starbucks Coffee instead, or train your staff on how coupons can be redeemed. Prices were definitely on the high side. The location is very convenient to the Merritt Pkwy, and if I had a reason to stay within 20 miles of this hotel again, I would definitely return. read more

I am getting married in Westport with a number of people coming from out of town we contacted this hotel to do a hotel block. A normal occurrence and the hotel said they could. However, they do not respond. Despite signing a contract weeks ago, our guests can't book under the code they gave us. No one is returning our calls or emails. It's incredibly unprofessional. We also contacted another hotel because this one wouldn't even give us the number of rooms we would need when someone did answer, and the Hilton garden inn in Norwalk has been a dream. read more

I am a heavy Marriott and I typically really like Courtyards due to their consistency and familiarity. I struggled with this review since I know Courtyard is a no frills business option. Our last visit was fine, but it amazed me how every TV was not working. The TV in the lobby lounge, cafe stations and in the room all had remote control issues where it was basically no viewable. I am not sure if it was a battery issue or technology issue. Either way, these places need to pay attention to details since there are so many choices. read more

I have been waiting to write this review for quite a long time now. I think that people deserve to know what to expect and how to be treated. I stayed at this hotel for two nights for my birthday with my partner. We are a very down to earth couple that like to keep to ourselves. On the second night of our stay we were in our room watching a movie and we heard some noises coming from what sounded like the neighbors door. We disregarded the noise and continue to watch the movie. A moment later the lights turned on in our room and I leaped out of bed, only to find that a family of 4 was trying to walk through our door. The father of the family looked at me in shocked and asked what the room number was. I said the room number and I said this is my room and shut the door in the family's face. It was not my intention to be rude to the family, I myself was caught in a moment of shock. Had they arrived sooner they would have caught my partner and in middle of an adult romantic moment. I was infuriated by the idea of that happening. I was also scared of the alternative, such a someone with malicious intent coming into our room and harming us. I called down to the front desk and explained what just happened and they said they would resolve the issue. I decide to check both of my room keycards and they were no longer working. I waited for a phone call and when I didn't receive one I called again and explained my keycards were not working. The front desk told me they would send somebody up. A few minutes later a man came up and brought the new keycards and asked me how I locked myself out of my room. This was just another disappointment. I explained to him as I have explained to 2 different people from the front desk that a family walked into our room and that my keycard got deactivated without any communication or consent. The man did not seem very empathic but offered water or juice for our troubles. I kid you not. Water or juice. Never mind that high secuirty risk/ threat involved in what happened. We asked only for a bottle of water that the man never came back with. About 20 minutes passed and we get a phone call from the Manager names Jorge. He said that he was aware of what happened and that we are all human and everyone makes a mistake and at some point in my life I can relate to that. Once again no empathy whatsoever. I told him it was a security issue and that I at least deserve to be refunded for the night and he said " that is not going to happen." The worst part of it all is that he spoke to another Marriott employee and told them that I was cursing and screaming on the phone. I wanted to try to enjoy the rest of my night and for fear of actually doing what he described me to have been doing I stood in my room. In the morning I went downstairs and spoke to a different manager. I calmly explained everything. He apologized and gave us complementary breakfast although I told him I did not want anything for free. I told him after my experience I felt that the Manager Jorge had to spoke to about how he treats his customers so that no one has to go through what I went through again. The other manager took down my number and said he would follow up with me and never did. So that was awful experience on my birthday in the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Norwalk. read more

(Long post alrert) I'm giving two stars for the simple fact that my checking in experience was horrible. I was in town for the Janet Jackson concert but finding a place to stay was almost impossible. I drove around for two hours from hotel to hotel looking for a place to rest. I decided to call before I drove to the Courtyard due to my many failed attempts. I spoke with Ms. Juanita over the phone and she assured me that they had plenty of rooms and even though I was checking in at 7am(will be charged an extra fee $158 for room+tax= $217) it was ok. Once I arrived Juanita whole attitude change drastically. She was so rude. I explained to her that I just spoke with her over the phone and she told me that a room was available (she said no rooms were available) after I drove all the way there. Then i explained to her that i was extremely tired and i would've never drove here if she would have told me that over the phone. Juanita then said "well I have a room but its extra for an early check in" $240 I explained to her that she didn't tell me over the phone but ok. I just need some rest I'm too tired to drive. She then asked for my ID and a card for incidentals. I explained to her that I will pay cash at checkout but she said no "I need to charge your card now for the full price of the room in order for me to give you a room". I explained to her that I've never heard of such...she then went on to imply that I didnt have the money for the room. After I pulled out my cash and explained to her that I only use that card for bills and petty cash but I can give her two cards to hold if that will get me a room so i can get some rest. Or I will pay extra just to get a room. At this point I didn't care how much the room cost. I was tired of looking for a room and very sleepy. She said "no I cant do it" I asked for a manager but no one was on duty. I couldn't believe she was treating me like this. I had the money but she didnt want to give me a room until I got teary eyed. She then had a change of heart. She rented me the room and handed me the keys with an attitude. I'll never go back to this established. The next day at checkout I played cash and Chiky pleasant customer service made up for all the bad that Juanita had done. The older lady that was there overnight as well and the young lady working the bar, housekeeping staff was very pleasant. Juanita need to find a new job working behind the scene. She shouldn't be allowed to work with the public EVER AGAIN. read more

I regularly stay at the Courtyard Marriott Norwalk on business. Recently several events were organized at a nearby hotel, so my colleagues opted to stay there. Based on the excellent service and the wonderful coffee bar on the lobby, I chose to return to the reliable, comfortable and affordable Marriott, and walk the 3/4 mile trip to my meetings. It was worth the walk (though Marriott has a shuttle if you need to get around Norwalk and don't have a car).
