Guest room King bed

Stayed in this hotel during my recent visit to Myrtle Beach. Usually people stay at the beachfront, but if you want a quieter place, or if you are gonna race in the Myrtle Beach Marathon and Half Marathon like me, this hotel is excellent. Less than 0.5 mi from the start line. Friendly front desk. Guest room was spacious and newly decored. Very quiet fridge and air conditioner (at least for "low" mode). In fact, many runners seem to stayed in this hotel during the race weekend lol. The hotel is of course a bit far from the beach front, about 1.75mi but it's not too far. I will stay in this hotel again if I do the race next year.

Stayed here on a biz trip last night on the 4th floor end of hall. It was relatively quiet. Bed was a little stiff, but nice big room and place was clean. Good water pressure and air conditioning. Close to many places to eat and free parking. Small pool. I had a nice salad last night and a huge glass of wine. This morning I had eggs your way breakfast. Employees are nice and it's pretty quiet except for done unruly kids running the halls. All in all it's not as fancy as other Marriott's but it served its purpose. Could use some updated rooms.

This hotel is conveniently located along Hwy 17 in North Myrtle Beach between Barefoot Landing and Tanger Outlets making it a perfect homebase for shopping and dining in the area. Our group traveled to town and checked in very late Thanksgiving night to be in the area to shop the sales the next day. The hotel was accommodating of our late check in request (nearly midnight) and our room was available upon arrival despite the hotel being sold out of rooms otherwise. The lobby seems to have been updated in recent years and is very clean and inviting. There is a large lounge area with fireplace and TV that is decorated thoughtfully with local books and truly felt like someone's living room. The rooms were also clean and modern, but overall basic and nothing extraordinary. Our group agreed that the mattresses were quite hard, but some people prefer firm beds so that's just a matter of preference. The hotel does not provide breakfast with every room reservation but you can opt into a package that includes 2 breakfast tickets per room per night. Instead of a typical continental breakfast the hotel actually has a bar/cafe area called the Bistro that is like a mini Starbucks. Each breakfast ticket could be redeemed for various combinations of offerings which included bakery items, fruit and yogurt, as well as hot cooked meals. This breakfast service was a little on the slow side but we at least felt as though the items were being prepared fresh versus premade and popped in the microwave.

Fridge

Take your money elsewhere. After arriving I thought initially, "Nice, looks like it was just renovated". Later I would equate this hotel to lipstick on a pig. The rooms are small, with poorly laid out bathrooms, and already breaking. The fridge needs to be opened every two hours and a button must be pressed or it will shut off. The TV and remote need what seems like an eternity to figure out what you're asking them to do. The shower door opens on the wrong side in relation to the towel rack. There's towels in the shower room, no wash cloths. Our glass shower door broke the first night. Beds are uncomfortable (to me) and the pillows for the king bed are tiny little things. And the breakfast is, really no other way to say it, trash. For close to $40, I expected more. The attempt to make it one off is severely lacking. Its a complementary breakfast that costs too much. We ate better, and for less mind you, at one of the local breakfast diners nearby. The only good thing I can say is about that the front desk service. They were very helpful. Would I stay here again, not likely.

I find Myrtle Beach loathsome and unfortunately I find myself here for business from time to time. Whilst stuck here I try to find things to distract me from my surroundings. One of the best things to do for this is to put yourself up in Marriott property. By doing this I am guaranteed to feel like I am in any town in America. The Marriott chain does a great job of creating consistency within their properties. The Courtyard at Broadway on the beach is no exception. They have an updated lobby with the Bistro experience and they even have a happy hour from 5-7pm. And thank the holy lord they serve Sierra Nevada. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and I have already forgotten about all of the cheap touristy crap outside my door. Thank you Marriott for being so predictable.

If the beach front hotels are sold out, this is a great property to stay. It's convenient to shopping and other beach attractions.

We stayed here for 4 nights right before Memorial Day weekend with my husband, our 19-month-old…read moreson, and my sister (who helped with occasional babysitting). We ended up loving it so much that we decided to extend our stay for an extra night. The location was honestly perfect. There was a Walmart nearby, the boardwalk and boardwalk mall were close, and there were plenty of restaurants within a short distance. The beach access was in a great spot, and the entire area felt very clean and safe. The outside pool area was modern, well maintained, and very inviting. The breakfast advertised in the lobby definitely lived up to expectations. Every morning there was a fresh breakfast along with a fun waffle-making station, which we really enjoyed. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly and welcoming. There was also a restaurant on the main floor with a great atmosphere, and the food was very good. There were only two downsides during our stay. The kids' splash pad -- one of the main reasons we booked this hotel -- was unfortunately out of service the entire time due to needing a new pump. We understood that these things happen. The other issue was that the rugs in the room did not seem very clean. We ended up keeping our shoes on in the room, so it wasn't a huge issue for us personally. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely book this hotel again

Lots of seating, fun accommodations for children, and pool towel rentals are also available. Direct access from the pool to the beach. Loved there was a spot to rinse off the sand from beach upon entering the pool area. One of the staff members gave great restaurant recommendations. Now, the bad. You have to pay for parking. It was additional $60 for 2 nights, but through a QRC code, not on your hotel bill. There was an extra $100 (exact) tacked onto my bill after checking in. Nobody told me where this $100 came from. So, I'm now assuming a security deposit? Will it be refunded when I check out? I asked 2 different representatives, and nobody directly told me what it was for. (Edit: it was refunded, but I wished somebody said so) I would have cancelled, but was not in a position to find another hotel. The a/c unit barely worked. We were sweating during the night. The paint on the ceiling above my shower was peeling off. That's in the video I posted. We were on the 4th floor, and had to go to the 3rd for ice. It would have been nice to know that as well. We were given a wristband to wear for use of the amenities, but nobody was wearing them, and nobody was checking for them either. Overall, I won't be staying here again.

What an amazing stay at the Double Tree Oceanfront Resort in Myrtle Beach…read more Oceanfront beach and pier access with a balcony overlooking the property. All equipped with a lazy river, adult and kiddie pools, water slides, a pool bar and restaurant on site with free pier access with your wrist band!! Amazing for those early sunrise morning and sea collection escapade's There is also a free mini golf course on site, but it was pretty dilapidated and run down. There is free coffee in the morning but being part of the Ellie, we had to walk over to the main building. Wish this was a little bit more convenient. There was only one elevator in the area where we were booked, and this took a while. Loading and unloading took some time. There is plenty of parking as well as a parking garage on site There is an airport that is right next to the property so you can hear it. However, it wasn't really noticeable during sleep and didn't bother us. It is pretty cool to watch the planes takeoff from behind the hotel.

It was very busy but you could not hear lot of noise except for planes.. be aware the airport is close by so there's planes close overhead.. I don't mind at all but some will.. it's just about last hotel south end Myrtle beach ! We enjoyed our stay overnight. Beds were comfortable. There's an ice cream shop directly attached beside the hotel next to valet parking. The bad: the valet line is extremely unorganized. We waited in the line for a long time to get loaded and checked in due to the valet line and the same as when we checked out the hotel. Cars were sitting in the streets trying to get in. Unoccupied cars just parked. No urgency at all. Housekeeping could do a better job at cleaning the rooms. Touch up painting is needed in the rooms. The outside tables/chairs for our room had to be cleaned. Leftovers from food were dried up on the tables/chairs on the balcony. The carpet in the room needs vacuuming. They didn't give us enough towels for 3 occupants. The indoor sauna and pool area needs deep cleaning. It's dirty.
