The only thing Marriott about this hotel is that it's clean. The pool was hella smaller then website pics The bed was like sleeping on bricks. The food service was bland and horrible. They triple charge you as a tourist you're better off with Uber eats. It's almost impossible to get the shuttle from the airport. My Husband waited almost 3 hours before taking a cab worst mistake ever if you don't have something reserved before you get there. They will try to charge $60-$80. I finally got someone to offer me $35 w' uber $10 but I think is contracted out because they will not pick you up. Only drop you off . The hotel shuttle was the main reason for choosing this hotel and you're a unicorn if they actually pick you up however they do drop off. Besides the worst sleep of my life the hotel was nice and clean, but I will definitely never stay here again. read more

Stayed here for one night and was impressed with how amazing this hotel is for being an airport hotel! The Pool - Wow, I was so impressed with this pool and hot tub. The pool is huge and gets a lot of sun. The area is really nice and would be a great place to stay for a few days. The Room - Rooms were nice and come with two water bottles and two free coffee packets - Room was clean and comes with 2 wipes to clean germs Airport Shuttle - When you land in Cancun you will have to call the hotel to have them pick you up from the hotel. They will ask for your name and tell you where to meet them once you exit the airport. They have a big bus that can fit 11 people, but we did have to wait for 45 minutes. The Food There is a restaurant on the property right by where you check in which has indoor and outdoor seating. Dinner - Dinner was great, we had tacos outside with great service. Breakfast - Breakfast was included and was delicious. They have eggs, fruit and croissants. My favorite was the Mexican coffee. read more

Stayed here for the night and at first I thought this is good will be able to sleep good tonight before a very long day tomorrow. The room was clean, the bathroom is large and the water pressure is just the way I like it. I ordered room service since I was a bit hungry but I don't want anything heavy so I ordered there bbq wings--- disappointed. It was 6 little pieces with old welted carrots, so that was a waste of money. When I finally laid in bed I thought hmmm this seems to be stiff it's almost as if I'm laying on a lobby sofa. The pillows were also soggy, it looks fluffy yet when you placed your head you just sunk. I can't possibly have a big, heavy head. Woke up in the morning with housekeepers banging things, laughing, talking in the hallway now that really just infuriates me. I hate being woken up with noise especially before my alarm wakes me. I tried to ignore but it kept getting louder and louder so I got out of bed and I opened the door and told them to lower it down -- that helped. I was able to sleep for another hour even though the bed was hard and pillows are just horrible. Needless to say this stay was not good at all. I'll probably pick a different place next time. Very pleasantly surprised by this airport Marriott. Some standouts include the helpful bellhop and large pool area and beautiful grounds. Upon arrival, the bellhop was extremely helpful with our bags and made sure we were comfortable. We had a lot of luggage so we appreciated his help. The pool was a highlight of our stay - it was clean, well-maintained, and a great place to relax and unwind. The hot tub was HUGE and not overly hot. Our room was also very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The only downside was that the check-in process was a bit slow, but it wasn't a major issue for us. We were also Marriott Platinum members, but didn't get an upgrade, which was a bit of bummer but we also didn't ask so not a huge deal. It's nice though when they're proactive about that :) Overall, our stay was as expected, and we were very happy with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were great, and the room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. read more

Stayed one night in between flights and enjoyed my stay here. Checkin was easy. I did utilize the shuttle service which you have to call the hotel for: due to road construction it could be 30-35 mins to pickup and then the 2.8km journey becomes around 20-30 mins for detour. To checkout the hotel shuttle is every half an hour on the dot so make sure you are downstairs 15 minutes ahead of the hour or half hour to catch it on time. NOTE: elevator does not seem to work due to construction which presents major accessibility challenges. Request ground floor if stair access does not work for you. Suite upgrade for Marriott bonvoy was very nice and spacious. Plenty of room for family or to spread out. Appreciated room service after a long flight too. A simple call takes care of it. First, I appreciate the airport pickup, it is very convenient and easy to find outside the airport. The staff is very friendly, and it seems genuine. The lobby is very modern, and clean. There is a bar and plenty of seating to just lounge around with your drink or food. I booked my room through Hotels.com and made an error in my booking. While checking in this error was easily resolved. We were only here for a night before moving onto our resort stay, but I am pleased with our accommodations. The restaurant inside is moderately priced for dinner and drinks. The food is good, it just lacked Mexican seasoning. The best thing I ate were the shrimp tacos. The drinks were good, and they didn't skimp on the alcohol. The beds are very comfortable and the shower was great! There is water in your room...please do not drink water from the sink, you will get sick. The only reason I have not given this Marriott 5 stars is because of the smell upstairs and the tattered carpet on our floor. They seriously need to replace the carpet for something that doesn't shed. That carpet was all over my shoes...we even had some in our shower before using it, because it was on the shoes of housekeeping. Also, there weren't fitted sheets on the beds, just flats. All in all it was a good night and I'd book again if I'm in need of a hotel in that area of Cancun. read more

This is a no frills, near the Airport, convenient one night stay on the front or back end of your trip. Not much else to report. At least the rooms have tile floors...since the hall carpets need a solid cleaning. Bathrooms are small and inefficient. read more

I've stayed here a few times before having to catch a morning flight out of Cancun. I live in Merida so I have taken the ADO bus to the airport and then used their shuttle pickup for a quick ride back to the hotel. When I drive, they allow me to leave my car for upto a week for no extra charge. Check in is always quick and easy, the rooms are clean with a comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. The restaurant was decent although the food was expensive for Mexico. It is a decent place to stay and easy to get to and from the airport. read more

Stayed here a few nights with my boyfriend. The hotel was very clean and modern. I got a delicious frozen margarita from the front bar. There is a restaurant in the hotel that is open until 10 p.m. The food was okay. However the restaurant staff was accommodating with a little push, and I appreciate it. I want to shout out John at the front desk. He was kind and made sure our needs were met. We hung out at the pool and in the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was cold and needed a light cleaning. Our room was cozy and I liked the layout. It was perfect for two people. There were ample body mirrors which I really like. I have no complaints about the room. On our last day there, work was being done on the elevator so we had to take the stairs. The free airport shuttle is a lifesaver but the driver is serious about his tip! It's been over a week since my stay at this Marriott location. My family and I had planned a trip to stay at a resort in Cancun but our flight wasn't going to land until the afternoon so we didn't see the point of paying over $200 when we could just pay a quarter of that at the Marriott of one night. As soon as we landed in Cancun we called the hotel to ensure the complimentary shuttle bus was going to be there once we got out to the parking lot, then we called again when we were getting our luggage. The location where they told us to wait was so confusing to find. A huge hassle! Luckily we found some other people where were looking for the exact same bus as us. The had us waiting for 20 minutes saying the driver is on his way. We see the bus drive right passed as if he was avoiding us. Other taxis I was talking to agreed with us saying they hotel employees seem to not care if they pick up guests or not as they're getting paid regardless. So basically had to call the hotel again asking where the shuttle was and they said they're on their way, when I mentioned we saw the bus drive right passed us she tried to defend the driver saying it wasn't the correct bus... yet us had the name on the hotel on the side. At that point we all just waited for over 45mins. read more

Worst experience ever. Had a later flight so stayed here to rest before heading to the island in the morning. The shuttle took TWO HOURS to pick us up from the airport and no cabs would take us, either. Tons of ppl waiting and calling the hotel. They were rude or didn't pick up the phone. Kept saying "a few minutes". I only picked this hotel because I'm a gold member and travel and use for work in the states. After this, I may switch my whole company to Hilton. Don't use this hotel or trust the shuttle system. It's hell. Landed at 8:30 and they didn't pick us up until 11pm. Bar was closed. Food was closed. Shitty start to a trip. Avoid. Also, their internet is broken. Can't wait to leave. Also, Fairfield uses same shuttle system so don't expect to get there any earlier. read more

Solid place to stay near the airport. But no shuttles to the beach as advertised and the jets in the jacuzzi don't work at all. For the price I would expect to have a continental breakfast. Although not included, they did offer a buffet for 17 dollars. Drinks at the lobby are well made and the bartender was super sweet. The gym is well equipped for a hotel. Avoid this hotel if you want to sleep. Expect inconsiderate people at the start and end of a party trip. My partner and I were awoken by screaming and slamming doors at midnight, loud knocking for "room service" at 3am, more yelling at 6am. We then phoned in to security and received no answer. We were shortly after woken yet again by the hotel staff telling us they're received complaints about our room (this was of course supposed to be directed to a nearby room). After a sleepless night we asked if anything could be offered from the hotel. They offered us what they considered a great deal; less than $5 off breakfast. They also accused us of trying to extort them. Allegedly they would have offered more if we called in more times. Don't expect any level of care if you have a poor stay. Convenient to the airport, the shuttle runs every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour and is only a few minutes away. But other than before a flight, I'm not sure the airport that I would stay here. The rooms aren't cheap (for Mexico, but maybe for Cancun) and they are very basic/dated, but have everything that you need. My room was FREEZING and never quite warmed up even though I turned the air off as soon as I got there. I ordered room service which came fairly quickly (quesadilla - okay) but there was some confusion because I couldn't pay for it on the room so they came back 15 minutes later to get a credit card payment from me. I just completed a stay at the Courtyard Cancun. Stay was January 10-11, 2018. Here are my concerns: - no comforter on the bed actually a brown blanket - sheets on bed were extra thin. - no fitted sheet on the bed mattress, a flat sheet was actually used which during the night kept coming off the bed - bed was hard - shower drainage did not work, when showering water raised up to above my ankles - brown stain below the toilet paper holder - two towels had holes, very thin and threads were coming out of the towel. - no tea option in the room. Just coffee. Very dissapointed of this stay specially since I was using a certificate for it. I emailed Marriott customer service and there was no resolution outside of an empty apology a week later my concerned email. Stay away! read more

Got picked up from the airport in a brand new Marriott shuttle!! It was pretty luxurious and the driver was really friendly and good at making conversation. Checking in was easy and the people at the front desk were all really friendly and glad to help or answer any questions that we had. The bar was closing when we checked in, but the front desk told us that as long as we ordered before they closed, they could make the drinks and we could take them to go. They also sell beer by the bottle at the front desk! The lobby and restaurant area are super nice and everything is pretty modern... so when I got into my room I was surprised to see a very outdated room. I don't know what it was, but I really didn't like the feel of the room... it just felt kind of dingy I guess. I will say that the room definitely has a better feeling in the day time! The room I had was spacious and appeared to be pretty clean. The bathroom was very spacious, but there were a few strands of hair in the shower tub, which was kind of a gross thing to see. The shower liner was that plastic like material so it looked really gross because it was obviously older and had soap scum and stuff on it. It was also kind of broken so it was just unappealing. The staff and hotel seem to be pretty chill. My friends and I hung out at the jacuzzi way past the time that it was closed and the staff didn't say anything. My stay here wasn't great or terrible. It's a decent place to stay if you're looking for something near the airport. read more

Front desk is like a 3 Stoogies movie. 20 minutes to checkin with no reason to be complicated. Because they were so slow the line developed of 10 people. Front desk has 4 incompetents. Then the room they gave me at 11 pm had ready a guest in it -- Big surprise for me and worse surprise for the existing occupant !! No a single apology or word from the front desk. THIS hotel is run by losers. Room is all sharp edges. Front desk wouldn't take my marriott membership-- and i was just a walk-in because the marriott online wasn't working. Then they wouldn't accept a reservation for the shuttle to the airport although marriott website said to make a reservation as the bus is limited in passengers. read more

Pros: Shuttle service is very convenient for early/late flights, safe location(wall surrounding entire property), friendly restaurant service staff, 20+ lounge chairs around pool, lots of English speaking tourists from US/Canada. Cons: Springbreakers running and yelling in 2nd floor hallway all night, Hot Tub was not working, Room#209 needs maintenance on showerhead(single stream, very dated), bathroom door wouldn't close, only gave us two towels, very old school smoke detector that flashes all night like a strobe-light at a sh*t discotheque... I explained all these issues to evening and early morning employees in my broken*ss spanglish and both looked totally puzzled. It's not a JW and it's not a resort, so yes, you're going to see particle board furniture and the carpet may have a few stains, as well as the walls and light fixtures. But you'll also find a very comfortable hotel that is 5 minutes from the airport. There is nothing to walk to and not much to do off of the hotel property. The check in was slow because our clerk was the same. He couldn't handle two tasks at once, so everything had to wait. We checked in just before midnight and the bar was closed. The person in front of us had just bought 2 beers, but there were no more in the cooler, so we asked if he had more. He told us he'd have to check. Then, as a line formed, he suddenly told us there were no more, without going to check. The lobby was nice and looks into the restaurant, that had a breakfast and lunch buffet, but I didn't eat here. There was citrus water available both upon check in and out. Nice sized room with large and modern bathroom. There is a small closet and 3 drawers. The night stand has power and an MP3 dock radio clock. The clock was 45 minutes slow. Nice shower pressure and clean bathroom. Large desk area with flat-screen TV and about 35 channels. I loved the pillows, which were fairly firm. I had a great quality of sleep. The air conditioner worked great and had a remote. There is a coffee maker, no tea, and there is a small fridge. My room was on the 4th floor and had high ceilings. The resorts could be seen a few miles aways. Hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle every 15 minutes. The pool/whirlpool is open 7a-10p and the workout room is open 24 hours. WiFi is free. read more

Omar told me each time that the driver was three minutes away. An hour and 10 minutes later the driver, Hector arrives tells I'm in the wrong area. He told me in a condescending tone he would make an exception and take me who the hotel. The rooms are mediocre at best and not what I would expect from Marriott. I was looking forward to a bit of mexican food in my short stay to Cancun; because of the holidays it wasn't an option, or was it? They had a christmas buffet being served for dinner the evening I stayed. The front desk staff informed us of the Buffet, but told us we could still order from the regular menu. At dinner we were told it was only the buffet unless we ordered room service, but it was the same kitchen? Confused but hungry I just decided on the buffet, because I was with a guest and we were trying to dine together, not in our rooms. The food wasn't bad. The veggies were okay, but this isnt their regular menu so there isnt much to worry about there. The michelada I had was one of the best I had ever had. But lo and behold a table near by ordered food and was served. Our server said his boss made an exception... The rooms have tile, so it is cold and uninviting. read more

We checked into the Courtyard Marriott Cancun by the airport as we had a very early flight next morning and just wanted to be close to the airport. It was surprisingly large grounds with 4 shuttles buses that offered 24 hour shuttles to the airport. It had a small pool and hot tub but a lovely garden setting. Unfortunately, there was some constructions going around so the atmosphere wasn't exactly peaceful. The bathroom was huge with Paul Mitchell products and the bed was comfy. They even have self laundromat. It appears the hotel has everything it needs except if you don't have a car then there are limited food choices with just one restaurant on the premises. I would never choose to stay here on my own. My company booked it. Took a long time to check in. Very close to the airport. Hotel is in a compound with a guard. Room was outdated. Thin scratchy brown blanket on bed. We asked the front desk if there was anything near the hotel- they all said there is nothing by the Hotel- and suggested the restaurant in the lobby. 4 of us met for dinner. It took 2 hours for dinner. They were out of a lot of things on the menu. All desserts. No more mango margaritas- only regular flavor. This was the worst margarita I have ever had. You would think they could get a margarita right in Mexico. Drinks took forever. We started with guacamole. It lacked flavor, a huge disappointment. We each had the ceviche- this was good. White fish, shrimp, and octopus. My friend had the noodle soup- she said it was very good and filling. 2 of us had tacos. These were good- but we had to ask for the sauce to go with it. The sauce was good. We also had the veggie burrito- also good. We started outside- but came in after 10 minutes. We were covered in bug bites. Inside is cold- so bring a sweater. The restaurant looked nice from the lobby entrance during checkin. During our 2 hour stay- only 2 other parties are in the restaurant. We saw a few room service orders set out. The gym is located next to the restaurant- I did not workout, but the facilities looked nice. There is a pool and jacuzzi- however, with the bug situation, I did not want to risk anymore bites. read more

Very pleased with the overall experience at this Courtyard location. Was expecting a typical airport set up but got way more at this hidden gem. Restaurant was phenomenal and overall grounds and amenities were a cut above. Strongly suggest the salsa and chips as the various salsa options were unique and muy caliente . We had the garlic shrimp, fajitas and a bottle of wine all for under $75USD . Shout out to our server Diego and Adrian as they were highly attentive and friendly . Would highly recommend this hotel especially if you are traveling to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen for vaca and need a place on the front or back end of your week to ease airport access. read more

Nice room, nice folks. The thing that kind of irked me was the $10 off certificates they gave us to use at the in-house restaurant. When we got the bill, the restaurant took off 154 pesos for each of us = 308. At the exchange rate that day = about $8 x 2 = $16. When I questioned them, they said that was their "house rate." Not sure where they came up with that rather arbitrary number, but a $10 certificate should be worth $10. The front desk was not sympathetic, but I didn't push the issue. read more

I am a LOYAL Marriott customer but this location makes me reconsider my entire relationship with the Marriott brand. I had to stay here on short notice for a couple of days. I've never been a huge fan of the Courtyard franchise but figured it's a Marriott property so I should be OK. I was WRONG. The lobby was nice the service was good and that's what got this location 2 stars. The rooms are sadly decorated and have a motel feel. My room is across the hall from laundry and very close to the elevator and I'm hearing everything. I have no idea how the heck I'm going to sleep tonight. I ordered room service and the only word that I can come up with for what showed up is disgusting. I ordered buffalo wings and got some lightly fried teeny tiny chicken wings with buffalo sauce on the side and a huge plate of ice cold over fried hard french fries. I'm just utterly disappointed that the Marriott would attach themselves to a location like this one. read more

Stayed at this hotel for two nights and three days. Unfortunately, worst experience I have ever had at any hotel. First, when we arrived to our room, the hot water was not working in the showers so had to call the front desk; who sent an employee that stated would go up to the roof to see what the issue was then never returned. Secondly, one of the two beds I believe had bed bugs; the reason being that the other bed my family slept on did not result in them waking up with bites all over their bodies; not to mention not once was the room cleaned out by housekeeping throughout our stay. Third issue was their laundry room dryer and washer were outdated and machines kept eating our money we deposited. And the last issue, uncomfortably was the food poisoning I got from the food at the restaurant downstairs; I am pretty sure it was from the restaurant dinner on the first night because it was the only thing I had eaten that day and also I recall and from the picture I took of the food the chicken that was ordered had some salmonela looking object on the chicken that was undercooked. Contacted the manager Jimena to advise and the response was that she was sorry and when asked for some sort of compensation for our unpleasant stay she stated that since we stayed their and it had passed already there was nothing she can do. I would highly recommend finding another hotel - wouldn't suggest the Fairfield next door since it is the same company. read more

For where this hotel is, and considering what it's purpose mostly stands for, this place is awesome. If you can look passed the somewhat outdated rooms and focus on the service, restaurant, and amenities (the pool/hot tub area are surrounded with lime trees and is amazing) you can absolutely appreciate this place. My husband and I had flights out of Cancun that were canceled and had to book a quick hotel for an early next day flight so we chose this property. We were so surprised given the fact it's right by the airport (because you know how those hotels usually are) however pleased when taking in everything mentioned above. Like I said, the service was phenomenal and the restaurant was pretty dang good. Definitely would visit again if necessary! read more

This courtyard is nowhere near a resort, but it is a nice stay if you're looking to be close to the airport. The rooms on the fourth floor have high conventional ceilings. Mine was very clean, the bed was massive. My colleague had no bath towels in their room, nor did their TV work. TV has a variety of Spanish and English speaking channels. The gym needs updating, and is located by walking outside near the pool. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but have only heard good things. Prices are pretty standard for hotels, but slightly cheaper than what you'd expect in the states. We spend one night here since we arrived really late to Cancun, they had shuttles pick you up Really convenient for late travelers or early ones. The rooms were clean nothing too fancy or outdated either. The hallways do smell weird but not the room we stayed at. We ordered some food since we arrived pretty late and it was ok. Overall once night stay was ok. I would stay here again if I'm arriving late again. read more
