Incidents: When I first got there, no one was at the front desk. A guest in the lobby told me that the staff was sitting "in the back". I started walking to the back, when about 4 people looked at me walking towards them for awhile before someone got up and asked me, "Are you checking in?". Note: The person who checked me in was really nice and helpful, despite. The 2nd night I was there, I saw two roaches in my room. I told a lady on the cleaning crew and the person who checked me out the next day. They apologized. After my stay, a few days went by and I realized that I didn't get a survey. I wanted to complete the survey giving accolades to the gentleman that checked me in, but I was never sent the survey (could be a coincidence, but my thought is it was intentional). I contacted the local hotel and the corporate office and was apologized to again and told that someone would contact me with 3-5 days.... it's been about 3 weeks. read more

I received outstanding customer service at check-in and while visiting the lobby bistro. I forgot to pack lotion and was able to get some from the front desk personnel. There wasn't any lotion in the room. There was a bar of soap and one makeup wipe provided. If the outdoor patio furniture wasn't damaged and the couch wasn't soiled, I could have given a better rating. The location is ideal and not too far from Cracker Barrel. The hotel does offer complimentary breakfast. read more

The am shift supervisor is the rudest and most inconsiderate staff leader I have ever seen in my life. The only staff member who's name I remember is Deena (she is an angel, and a witness to my poor treatment by her manager) I stayed at this location 2 weeks ago for one night on a business trip (6/28-6/29)The following morning I missed my flight and had to come back to the hotel. It was about 7am and well before checkout. I asked Deena if she could give me a late checkout because I had missed my flight. Deena told me that only her supervisor could grant that kinda request, she went to an office somewhere in the back and returned saying "my manager will be with you shortly " the manager left me waiting at the front desk for about 40 minutes finally when she came out she avoided eye contact with me as she meddled around at Deena's register. I was unsure so I asked "are you the manager" this woman looked at me like I disgusted her and responded by saying in a rude tone and using irritated body language "yes I'm the manager and I'll get to you at my earliest convenience, I'm getting my team ready and cleaning up my office" and with that she left me standing right there without asking me what my name is or if there was anything she could do to assist me.and she went back in her office and left me there another 20 minutes. Deena apologized for how I was being treated and told me that I could go back to the room until noon. I also complained about the tv in my room not being able to connect with any streaming services (as advertised) and the Chef from the bar & grill in the hotel lobby who just so happened to be there talking to a staff member asked me what room I was staying in and when I told him 403 he said " oh yeah, the internet doesn't work in that room " finally "the manager " comes out and asks me what the problem was. I explained to her that I had missed my flight and that I needed a late checkout (2 hrs) and in the most dismissive way before I could even get my request out she told me she couldn't help me and left me with no choice but to pay $160 to stay there until 2pm read more

I am so happy I stayed here while visiting my family in Georgia. We checked in pretty late in the evening and Darnell checked us in and provided great service. This hotel is newly renovated and everything was clean and staff was very courteous. I have really bad allergies with carpet but I didnt experience any while staying there. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

A mixed bag here so let's just talk about the good first. Comfortable bed, nice products in the bathroom, rooms are spacious, stylish lobby with comfy seating areas, spacious mini frig, well lit easy parking, and lots of restaurants and stores nearby. Now the bad. Thin walls mean you are at the mercy of possible loud neighbors and hallways (bring earplugs!). Covid/staffing means still no food or beverage service on weekends (and a truly below par free cold breakfast offered self serve). Weekday opening had me excited for a good cup of Starbucks. Only to be told they were out of coffee- but I could have an Americano which was pretty average. I passed on any of the displayed food options. At this point in our opening up - this could be much better. The decor in rooms and hallways are a bit dated and rugs need a good cleaning or replacing. The worst for us was a practically unusable internet. At night when your ready to kick back and relax you couldn't stream Netflix on the tv because it wouldn't load properly. Channels on the TV wouldn't load. Our laptop wouldn't work. And we are elite members so we were supposed to have a "premium" internet. If internet is required for you to work/relax while here or you are a light sleeper- this probably isn't your best choice. If you just need a convenient, moderately priced spot with limited amenities this Courtyard might be for you. read more

Don't. This place is mildly OK. my room smelled of strong air freshener. My main problem is the beds are very hard and according to the front desk clerk Marriott has now discontinued blankets so you get a sheet and a wrinkled up sheet that they call a duvet which has nothing in it it's just a sheet with wrinkles in it. There were some mold in the bathroom and my shower floor was so slippery I almost fell. The worst part is the breakfast I ordered and apparently after I left it arrived 45 minutes later read more

Flying West to East late in the day can make for an interesting adventure. It's like a bad magic trick, you leave Phoenix at 3 pm and arrive in Atlanta at 9 pm. Tack on the hike and train ride to get out of ATL, another 20 minutes to the rental car center, and then the 30 minute drive to Conyers and you're easily close to 11 pm local time. The last thing you need is a nasty hotel and even nastier Cretans at the front desk. Rest assured, this hotel provides a great dose of southern hospitality and a great bed to boot. This is easily one of the best hotels (not finest) I've stayed at in the last couple of years. The staff was truly amazing. They were very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. My room was beautiful. Wi-fi was free and exceptionally easy to sign on to (room number & last name rather than a difficult password to type in). The toiletries were Paul Mitchell (bonus) and the water was HOT! In room ironing, functional desk, and plenty of outlets for my devices. Bedding was very nice and comfortable, had a great nights sleep. Breakfast is on your own dime which suits me fine. They have a very nice ala carte bistro with both cold and hot selections. I opted for the yogurt with fruit and granola, delicious. The downstairs lobby is stocked with free USA Today's, TV's, and comfy chairs to sit, read, or visit. The receipt was tucked safely under my door in the morning so all I had to do was grab it and stuff it in my carry on for that beloved expense report. Again, as is the case so many times in life, the people made the difference and the staff here is top notch, thanks for a great night. read more

My truck was stolen from the hotel parking lot on the first night we were here. I had no way to get my horse home and had to have someone come after me. I later find out that this is VERY common from this hotel and happens frequently. The hotel appears to have taken no measures to provide security to address the issue. I alone have talked to a half dozen people who've had this very same thing happen at this very hotel. I have stayed here multiple times. The hotel itself is structurally sound. I have no real issues with the rooms or the facilities in general. What I have do notice is that it is hard to get a cup of coffee in the morning at the starbucks onsite. I have stood waiting 5 plus minutes for anyone to appear to take an order or have simply walked away in frustration. When I did get coffee it was not very good either. I don't even bother trying to get coffee onsite anymore. read more

I got a king suite upgrade to 224. The room was nice and I'd stay there again. The staff was very friendly and quick. The building is new and close to shopping and food. It was well lit and plenty of parking.  I did love the size of room. Although it was right by the elevator, I couldn't notice any noise. The keys are RFID which is always a nice thing to have when your hands are full. You won't see this layout in another Courtyard. There are a few cons like there was no window in the living room and only one light on a switch with lots of lamps. The ac is right by the bed which would bother in the summer. The bathroom could have been cleaner. There were some strays and the shower floor has black marks which isn't good when the property is new.  The location didn't pull up in GPS. However, just put in the address for the Home Depot or Wal-Mart right behind it and you'll be fine. This was not a hard to get into spot. read more

Conyers, GA is not a place I would have visited on my own but work brought me here. As a loyal Marriott member I was happy to have a Marriott option. The Courtyard is right off of exit 82. This has become my go-to hotel in this area. Overall my stays here are comfortable. Rooms and beds are clean and I haven't had any issues with overall service. The front desk is friendly. I've visited so often that the front desk has started to remember me. The gym here is very small. A room with 2 treadmills, elliptical, and a few weights. Depending on time of day it can fill up quick. There is a LA Fitness and Planet Fitness a couple miles from the hotel if you prefer to go to an actual gym. The courtyard doesn't offer room service but they have a Bistro downstairs that offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's also located near many restaurants. Majority are chain restaurants. If you're looking for something non-chain I recommend Baan Thai or Bella Vista (Mexican) which is all near the hotel. Parking is free. read more

That is amazing customer service! I just spoke with her on the phone; she explained the situation; and she more than made up for it. Thank you once again! --- I would not recommend this hotel. I reserved a room for a 2-night stay and I'm a lifetime gold member and they could not accommodate me. Despite my reservation, they moved me to a different hotel. I'm a loyal customer to the Marriott hotel but because of this hotel's mistake, I was not awarded my nights and points because they pushed me to a Hilton hotel. This is a neat, clean decorative place but they miss the mark on reality and southern hospitality. When we called downstairs and asked for toilet tissue, someone called back and told us to check the cubby hole- which we had done previously.. we needed tissue! There was a constant towel shortage. With 4 woman in a room- it was a struggle to get 4 towel sets because "the standard is 3" - tho four of us checked in and we paid extra for 4 ppl. The first night we were invited downstairs at midnight to pick up an additional towel set we needed... (ultimately they did send it upstairs). Customer service is not about having an answer for every need or being interrogated around every request. The toilet tissue thing was just ridiculous! Invest in some more towels.. this may help. With good leadership, this hotel could definitely be a great place to stay. read more

Recent 2 stays have been better. While no one makes any effort to enforce the mask policy on guests at least the staff is doing much better.

Stayed here to be close to a government agency HQ where I had meetings. Check in was prompt and the staff was courteous and professional. For rewards members you can choose to not have serviced for a day and receive 250 points. I did not agree to this, but my room still went without serviced the day. Minor, since I was alone and there enough coffee for the next day. But come on Marriott, 250 points? I can get that filling up my car. This place needs training for its staff. While everyone was very nice and maintained a professional appearance, some of them seemed a little over their head for Courtyard. This is not their fault, this is a management/training problem. Most of the time at a Courtyard Bistro for dinner you have frequent Courtyard customers, many know the menu already, and just need a convenient meal so they can get some work done in their room before catching some shuteye. For this reason the service in the Bistro needs to be really good. With the willing and friendly staff better trained, and better communication between the front desk and housekeeping about the coupons, this place could get a few more stars. read more

The lobby furniture needs to be cleaned. There are all manner of spills and stains everywhere. The loveseat in the room was disgusting. There's a musty smell in the building that may indicate water damage at some point. Our room was on the top floor and must have been close to generator's (or jet engines.) Very noisy. Came in late last night needing a place to lay our heads during our road trip. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. The front desk was very nice and check-in was quick and painless. The room was great!! Clean and very roomy (of course we had a handicap room). I am amazed that this place doesn't have better reviews. People - if you have to stay in Conyers (not Atlanta) for business - THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY. There are a few other hotels over near Lithonia Mall....I do NOT feel safe over there. At one point I chose to drive home to Augusta for the night as opposed to staying in that area - it's that bad. This Courtyard is located in a much safer area and near a ton of retail spots, including a lot of restaurants. The service is phenomenal (as usual with Marriott). The hotel feels almost new. There is a little bistro downstairs that has the typical Courtyard fare. My room has always been serviced timely and extremely well (you know the people who organize your makeup on the counter? these people are like that). Seriously, though - in Conyers this place is as good as it gets. Decent area + Nice & New feeling + Excellent customer service. My only complaint is that a lot of times they are booked up a week or two in advance. read more

I am platinum with Marriott - this hotel does not value its loyal customers. They do not know what platinum member gets - incompetent front desk. While "helping" me - the guy Ervin took multiple calls from other guests - and I was there less than five minutes. I asked for "manager on duty" and his response she will be in Monday. Don't think "on duty" means much here. No upgrade, no breakfast and just bad service - perfect combination to attract loyal customers. Hard Pass. read more

Check in was at 3pm, and we arrived at 3:30. We waited in the lobby for 30 minutes before our room was ready and ended up being late to the wedding we were staying here for because of the extra wait. The person at the desk didn't seem to be concerned about our wait until we complained about it. She finally gave us our room keys and also a free breakfast which was pretty good. We love this Courtyard! We had a house fire and while rebuilding we lived in this hotel 2 weeks shy of a year. The staff became like family. We threw my nieces 3rd birthday party at the indoor poor (what other March child can have a pool party). We loved our time at this hotel. Its convenient to everything in Conyers. Living there felt like we lived in a highrise condos in ATL. It was nothing but a wonderful experience and honestly makes me want to work there to give other people the same experience. At Christmas the staff gave us a tin of cookie and when we moved out they framed a picture of the hotel and all signed a mat; which is hanging up in our house. Any time we have people come in from out of town we always make sure they stay there. One time out of towners had found a "deal" at a different hotel tried to check in and ended up canceling and switching to this Courtyard. Great hotel! read more

We booked the last double queen room available for the night. The staff is super friendly, everything is clean and orderly. The beds are very comfortable and rooms are spacious. Easy access off of I-20 if you're traveling. Starbucks coffee available is a plus, especially for early mornings. The hotel is fairly new, and you can tell the owner has great pride in the upkeep of their hotel. We will definitely be spending the night at more Courtyards. read more

BEWARE!!!! My parents were renewing their vows at this location and it was the most DISGUSTING display of professionalism and customer service I have ever experienced. I travel for work and I always use Marriott properties and I even own a time share with them. The experience we had was NOT a Marriott experience. On the day prior to the ceremony, the ballroom that was reserved several weeks before, was not prepared and we had to rush to get that done before we could practice which threw us behind for practice time.The management was either indifferent, had an attitude, or was completely MIA. The worse part is that they left their unsuspecting staff members in the line of fire which is no way to treat your employees. I felt very bad for them as they had horrible leadership and the situation became stressful for them as well. On the day of the ceremony, they took my parent's suite and gave it away the night before they were supposed to check in. So they gave us a different room and told us to just make sure everything was packed up so they could move it to the new/correct room which would be done by the time the ceremony was over 12:30 (instead of 12 because we had to repack everything used for wedding prep). The move didn't happen for another 2.5 hours...and we had to move our own stuff!!! To add insult to to injury, they overcharged my parents for a room that had an approved discount in the system. That property, which is brand new, needs an overhaul already. The poor customer service and lack of communication/organization overshadowed how nice the property was. I don't recommend them for events or lodging! read more

After my room was given away at the Hawthorn for the second time in two years, I ended up with no room thousands of miles from home. I frantically began calling hotels and the gentleman at the front desk immediately offered to help. He not only found us a room at the last minute, but he was beyond courteous and understanding. We had been traveling all day and after the drama over at the Hawthorn, we were relieved to be treated with respect and compassion. Our room at the Courtyard was not only bigger but it was extremely clean and modern. The staff has been so kind and the rooms have truly surpassed my expectations. As a frequent visitor of the Georgia International Horse Park, I will continue to book my stays at the Courtyard. I highly recommend this hotel! read more
