It never feels good to drop off your clothes at the dry cleaners, and wonder if you would ever get them back again. Harlequin always make me feel like they treat my garments with respect and care. The friendly staff at Harlequin dry cleaners are always very professional and do a great job. I have also had clothes altered and small repairs done here. This side of the business is also great. Prices are fairly reasonable for the area, but not the cheapest around. All in all, I will continue to use Harlequin dry cleaners as my primary place for my dry cleaning needs in Maida Vale.

The owners are sneaky. While vacationing in London we went here to do laundry. Two of the washing machines I was using broke mid-cycle. The owners laughed and told me to move the clothes into another machine (after waiting 18 mins and over 7 euros later). I told him to give me money to which he only provided 5 euros. He asked me to put the rest of the money into the machine. While I was there I saw two other machines break mid cycle. The laundromat is also filthy and the neighborhood is slightly creepy.

They seem fine, if a little pricey, for shoe repairs (£10 for heel repairs, for example). Key cutting was quick and efficient.

We only has USD and Euro on had, but he directed us to an ATM right across the street so we could get some Pounds to pay for the machines. You have the option of giving them your clothes and they will wash, dry or press for you, or you can pay for the washer and dryer and they will supply the soap. The owner was kind and patient with us as we got out things out the suitcases, even gave us some privacy as we got out items into the washer. The mat is intimate with some lovely coffee shops so you can have a bite to eat while waiting on your clothes.

Well...it at least grabbed my attention. When I walked inside the shop, the friendly person behind the counter (the shop owner?) right away looked up to me and asked if I needed any assistance. I was really only here to browse, but then he began to tell me about the various cleaning products that they offer, as well as some beauty products (hand soaps etc.). I was intrigued by the eco-friendly laundry detergent and ended up buying a bottle of that. Selling bio/organic products is only a side business for Blanc though, their main business is dry-cleaning and tailoring. Mental note to self: I still have that jacket that needs mending...

They get the job done well and on time. I have also tried their wash and fold service, which wasn't particularly great. When I lived in Hoboken, NJ, USA, I used to send all my laundry out to get washed, and it would come back to me folded perfectly. These guys will wash it for you fine, but their folding job just sorta sucks. But hey, perhaps I'm picking. If it's between here and A&Z, go here.

Really, there's no competition, City Style Dry Cleaners are the best around. If, as Goldie Locks similarly opined about low GI carbs, City Dry Cleaners (I know, this is getting confusing) on Curtain Road is ok; and A and Z is rubbish, then City Style is just right. I've taken many a garment here in states of embarrassing disrepair and they always come out looking like new. Forget Five Star on Upper Street in Islington, if you want an amazing dry cleaner who doesn't charge the earth for its services then hit City Style.
