This company is unprofessional and very petty. In April I submitted two documents to be served. One was a 'Corporate' service and the other was 'Residential." They sent the Corporate service out without even confirming who they were sending it to and served the incorrect entity. Unbeknownst by me, the company that I was suing was sold and as a layman I had no way of knowing that. That sale also created a change in legal representation so the Summons was rejected. When I called to complain about the incorrect service these people had the gall to tell me that "You should have checked the Secretary of State website for confirmation." I then ask them why they didn't confirm the corporate service, themselves, before sending out my document. I was told "You would have had to request that service." I have to REQUEST for you to be thorough? So know that you must request courtesy service with these people. As a result, I posted a negative review about the poor corporate service before they attempted to serve my residential document. They FAILED TO SERVE on ALL SIX ATTEMPTS. And to add insult to injury they didn't even inform me as to when they finished the process. I had to call for confirmation and just barely made my legal deadline. They claim to have mailed me the confirmation a month earlier but they lie. I am THE ONLY person with a key to my mailbox and I have had the very same mailman for 20 years. If they actually mailed it I would have gotten it. They did not mail me anything and my mailman said he saw nothing. And I believe him. This company tried to retaliate against me because of my review. So here is another one. If you have time sensitive and important legal documents that need to be handled with care, DO NOT USE this company. I paid them $230.00 for absolutely NOTHING!!! They couldn't serve either document. Everything went better than I thought. Yesterday, I hired County Process Service to help me serve my tenant who I unfortunately have to evict. I met Michael in his office. He reviewed the paperwork I recently filed. Understanding it's my first time having to do this so he gave me some comfort the process will be fairly straightforward. He also took the time to explain the next steps since I was very nervous. This morning, I received notice serving my tenant was completed yesterday and proof of service has already been filed with the Court. I couldn't be more thankful to Michael this was done so promptly. I used this service to help me to serve people for County of Santa Clara Small Claims Court. We tried for over a month to serve them with County Process Service. They were not able to serve them. When we tried to contact County Process Service, we couldn't get through to them on the phone to find out what was happening. I guess we assumed they would call us. We tried calling them multiple times a day. Finally we got through and found out that they had stopped trying to serve them last month! They never bothered to tell us. We eventually got a log to prove to the Court that we had tried to serve the defendants. All in all a very unpleasant and time wasting affair. I've known Scott of County Process for over 20 years. He's always able to take on assignments, to serve, file, search for people, etc. His rates are below most process servers-a week ago, he filed a pleading for me in San Jose on the same day that I sent it to him for less than one-third of what another company quoted. To the other reviewer from Los Gatos, lots of papers get served on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or whenever they must be served. Child custody disputes often arise around the holidays. And process servers quite often follow directions from law offices regarding service of papers-if a lawyer says to leave papers at a particular address, that's what any process server does, usually it is the lawyer's job to locate the correct address. read more

I have dealt with Scott Soto for MANY years!!!! County Process Service has always been efficient to my firm and every other firm I have been with!! These two previous review are ridiculous and very unprofessional. In the business of process serving nothing is for sure. To think that Mr. Soto can do all the court runs and process serving personally is unreal!! And another question is why would you continue to rendered his services if he already "lost" time-sensitive documents and I quote "on numerous occasions"... HHMMM?? As far as the individual that got served, it is not up to the process server to figure out if you have lived there for 7 years, it is up to the person paying for the process serving bill. If they do not request an address search or skip-trace, then that's on them. But for you to slander Mr. Soto's business because you were dropped served, probably due to the fact you refused to open the door or heard the person and didn't recognize them; then in the process servers eyes you are evading; which is something they deal with on a daily basis. Therefore you will be dropped served if authorized, again, by the person paying the process servers bill. I am not an employee of Mr. Soto nor do I work for his office, I am a dedicated consumer that takes them with me to every firm I go, because I know he gets the job DONE!!! read more

First of all, I would like to address this review written by S.L. County Process is a courier service, who delivers/serves legal documents on individuals. They are the dark messengers that people don't usually like to see on their doorsteps. They work for law firms and/or individuals who instruct them to deliver court documents at a given address. They are NOT an investigative firm. With that said, they delivered the documents at your address on Christmas Eve because they were only instructed to do so! Most of the documents they handle are time-sensitive and need to be delivered by a certain date. So if you want your documents delivered in a time-efficient manner, call County Process. They will attempt deliveries in the rain, Christmas Eve, at 11pm, or any time of the day you want. These are the exact type of people I want to deliver my documents because they are reliable and will take the extra step to make attempts on odd hours of the day just to serve my documents. I use County Process multiple times and I absolutely love them! Their prices are competitive and they have a fast turn-around time. They've been in the business for over 30 years and know exactly what needs to be done. read more

These folks go over and above. I had a small claims suit in which I only had the defendant's e-mail and cell phone, but no address except that of his parents. They live on the East Coast while he lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. County Process Service used that information and their superior knowledge of the rules of the game to serve the guy anyway, on the other side of the country through his parents! They worked through another agency on the east coast with whom they have an ongoing relationship. This is the third time I have filed a small claims suit over the past 40 years. For the other two I used a sheriff, who failed to serve process even though the defendant was unemployed and stayed home all day, and a service I found through the Yellow Pages, who could not figure out how to serve an auto dealership!!! County Process Service is a an unbelievable opposite to these two experiences! Given the level of effort they put in I was surprised that the fee was modest. (As I understand it, if the case is determined in my favor the judge usually will make the plaintiff reimburse this fee anyway, but it's still nice that they didn't ask for some exorbitant amount.) I found them through an attorney friend of mine. Although I was put off by the prior Yelp review, my friend's recommendation overshadowed that. I am overjoyed that I ignored the other review! Great service from Joe who made two attempts at serving but when unable to do so I had to go into their office and pay for a skip trace search in an attempt to locate the individual that needed to be served. This payment was not an issue what is an issue was the unprofessional way I was spoken to by Nicole who is the only female staff member at this office. She belittled me by saying they will no longer do business with people such as myself, I refrained myself from reacting in a negative way but I took this as a racist remark. If your looking to hire a process serving agency please do not utilize them as a resource. I am a United States disabled Army veteran but despite that Nicole dismissed that as if it were nothing and made it seem as if I was using that to get preferential treatment. I have no clue how this woman can continue to work and deal with people on a day to day basis. If the tables were turned and it was me being rude racist and disrespectful all hell would break loose. They were able to successfully work with the Sheriff to serve the required court documents I needed served. I wouldn't recommend this process server if they were the last process server on this earth. I have been trying to have them serve a person who ripped me off for a lot of money, they have been unsuccessful for close to thirty days. The morning of October 4th 2017 I knew of her location. When I tried to call them at eight o'clock to let them know of her where about's, I got no answer. I continued to try and call for an hour. Finally at five after nine a.m. an individual answered the phone. I gave him all the information to have her served. Knowing that she would only be at this location for less than an hour, this individual informs me that he won't have anyone who can go out there till TEN O'CLOCK!!!!!! What the hell. 30 freaking days and they couldn't serve her?? read more
