When you walk in it looks like you can just walk to the metal detector and go in, but there is usally a long line to the right that snakes around. Once inside you sit and wait to meet with the prosecutor to hopefully settle. This court will call you in based on the time you arrived, so go early as there are usually lots of people. With a clean record they made an offer of no points, or at least with my step son they did. Once agreed, you wait for the judge to actually take your plea, so there's more waiting. Whole process took us 2.5 hours. Once plea is taken, you go out to the window in the lobby to pay. $275 later (including court costs) it was over. They are pretty well organized, especially given the number of people, but they could be a little more forthcoming with the process so you know what's going on as you are there. But all in all it was an ok experience.

That envelope sat on her desk for 13 days before she send it off. Now I got a mail 4 weeks later saying that they still waiting for payment. Bunch of jokers and time wasters after all that I went thru went these jokers 4 weeks later they sending me a letter the same letter ask them to send me with my receipt they couldn't do it. When I ask them if I can pay online they said no or over the phone, but this time I can call and use my credit card to these people are really something else. Thank god I know people who could have help me out so I could be back on the road or else would be still sitting down waiting waiting 2 months for a receipt jokers

Our $221 seats were folding chairs jammed together with no room, in spite of our entire row being empty (along with many other rows half empty) The overhead fluorescent lights were unnecessarily blaring. The acts themselves were great -the venue embarrassing. Came out smelling like the greasy food being sold as the doors were left open for all the smells. Will not return or recommend this completely disappointing venue.

I have come through this station many times to visit the area. I used to go to New Paltz and this…read morewas the main connecting point. You take the Metro North all the way to the last stop. There is a large seating area and vending machines for purchases. During the day there are many people going in and out of this location. During the fall it is much busier. Everyone wants to go over the bridge and see the fall panoramic views. There is a bus stop outside with people waiting to go to local stops. There are free buses which go to Poughkeepsie, Marist, New Paltz, and other locations. The free buses only come a couple times per day so make sure to time everything accordingly. At night the station is mostly empty. There are several homeless people who stay outside. After nine the seating area is closed so you have to wait outside. The trains do run until 1 am. If you miss out on the last train you have to wait until the morning for your next trip. I would have liked longer hours here but it is what it is. I will continue stopping by here when I visit Poughkeepsie.

I was appalled to see the elevator out of order at an Amtrak hub. How does that make sense when you know many people traveling on Amtrak are burdened with luggage. Add that to the fact that we just had a blizzard and navigating by foot is difficult enough The station platform was well salted, but there was nobody in sight to help the elderly with their bags. I was struggling myself with two suitcases and shopping bags from my visit to New York City. The only way from the platform to the station is up a flight of approximately 30 steps nearly straight up. Once to the top, you have to balance your suitcases so that you can pull the doors open by hand. It's regrettable that this station could be so spectacular. It was built at the turn of the 20th century I believe and could be a masterpiece. Instead, it looks like a didn't she, grungy throwback to the 70s. No place to buy a cup of coffee, no employees in sight, police are stationed outside, but there's nothing there but sad tired people This is really a shame because I love Amtrak and Amtrak should really raise their voice about how passengers are being treated at this station. It's appalling. No photographs because I was juggling so much luggage. I couldn't even get my phone out.
