Was recommended to call here for grooming our kitty. Gave them a call and the lady who answered…read moreseemed unwilling to want to groom our cat. Funny, because the person who recommended this place to us has HIS cat clipped there. She asked me if my kitty had been groomed before. Well we used to have her groomed/clipped while she was put under for teeth cleaning. So I told her this and she said since my kitty wasn't used to getting groomed, that maybe I should take her to a place where she would be more comfortable being groomed. I didn't have the time or the patience to explain we are military and moved here about a year ago and l don't really have a grooming place here because well it's NOW summer. I guess I could've asked our vet for a recommendation, but UMMM how would it be any different? It's not like the veterinarians are going to groom her just for the sake of grooming so any place they recommended would also be strangers to our kitty. She basically went on her spiel about how cats are "vicious and dangerous animals" and it would take 2-3 people to hold our kitty down for her own safety. I told her that she is actually a really sweet and easy kitty and the vets have never had any issue doing anything to her so I was pretty sure she wouldn't be a problem. So FINALLY I had convinced her to take our kitty and when I asked how long it would be she said 3 hours to all day. Ummm yeah, maybe with a dog, but no, not with a cat. Especially a very shy and skittish kitty. That is not okay. I ended up telling her I would find someone else and she basically said "ok" and hung up. Yeah, piece of work. We ended up shaving our kitty ourselves and she did great! She sat the entire time for us until WE were ready to be done. Rethink taking your kitties here. Think about doing it yourself if you have a shy/timid cat. Ours was probably so much happier to be in comfortable and safe surroundings with the people she trusts most. The economy must be booming for businesses to be turning away clients!

We are texted with pictures of the cats when they are at our house and we see they love they give to our pets. We used to take our cats to an external "cattery" but the cats hated being out of the house. Midlothian Pet Pals have extended the lives of our cats and have made us feel comfortable in traveling again. They are the best!

I reached out back in 2021 when my husband and I first moved to the area and received a response that they were booked for the dates I was requesting. I completely understood that as I was requesting for only a month out (it was fine, we would figure it out). I then responded looking to book for future dates but received no response back. I ended up finding an independent pet sitter for the dates I needed but thought I would reach back out a year and a half later to see if I would have better luck with a response. Again, I was told in April that they were booked solid through the end of August...I responded saying I would still like to book an initial consultation so that I would be able to request future dates. I never received a response. It was extremely off-putting that they wouldn't even take a new customer who was willing to be flexible and work around next available dates. I have now found a much more professional, friendly, and responsive pet sitting company who I have been recommending to everyone who's asked me instead. It was disappointing to say the least and I hope others have a more positive experience.
