There are times when I really miss home cooked meals or the usual Filipino dishes they serve at carinderias or canteens which I love. Admit it, to us they have that certain appeal not only because they're cheap but because they remind us of home.
Whenever I'm in Katipunan and I'm craving for some homey goodness, Countryside is the place to go. The restaurant is big and it can accommodate a large number of people. The parking at the restaurants in Katipunan isn't that big and street parking isn't really advisable so what you should do when you really want to try is to beat the lunch and dinner rush.
Countryside always has a lot of dishes ready for your hungry tummy, the set up is like in a canteen where everything is displayed. Outside there's a bbq place where you can order the typical Filipino bbq options. I like their Lechon Kawali, Bicol Express and Dinuguan.
