pigging out on the prime rib. busting that buffet on Friday night
    Kevin D.

#39/2022 Wow is it really been since 2019 since I reviewed this? Well there it is me eating like a pig off the buffet back then postin that review. Fact on Yelp I'm the one that created the page and yes there's a bunch of videos from back then me oinking away I forgot about that LOL. butl changed world we're in now Buffet is gone but the Country pride is still here. Open every day from 6:00 until 9:00 due to staffing issues but nice and clean inside I was served by Victoria young girl was very professional and did a great job and I sat down greeting me with the menu and asked me for a drink got diet Pepsi. Basically like all the other country prides now this is no longer an independently owned Beto junction travel plaza it's ta fully owned the Wendy's is still here but this is for the Country pride portion the huge restaurant back in the day when it was independent is still here most of it was coordinate off though it wasn't very busy. But I came and ready to eat and decide to have a chicken fried steak something I haven't had for quite some time and I want what to smash taters and did brown gravy on the whole shebang. Didn't want a salad or soup today so they said you could have ended the other side I got some corn. Corn was a little dry it was frozen kind but it didn't have a whole lot of flavor so I got some extra gravy and sauced it up. Because he is if I will be pretty much protocol the chicken fried steak was delicious the mashed potatoes were good so no complaints there. Prices have gone up a little bit it was 20 bucks without the tip now it's about 14.99 for a dinner at the Petro and ta truck stops and drinks are 329 but signof the times and that's the way it goes. All in all I'm not dropping down any stars I'm not adding any stars it was a little bit better than average so therefore the four stars remain and hopefully keep up the good work when I'm doing one of these runs from bowling Green Kentucky to emporia Kansas I definitely will still hit it up.

Cute diner located right off the highway. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. Everything was great except the hash browns were a bit greasy. The waitress was friendly and frequently checked in on us. The quotes carved into each booth were fun to read.

Very average food - great place to stop on a road trip to support local restaurants! The women working are friendly and the wait wasn't long at all. It seems to be a local favorite; it was pretty busy.

New menu has alot taken off plus no kids menu. Hardly anything on the breakfast menu and no longer pancakes an option for toast.

Fabulous fish fry! Crunchy crust with a nice flaky fish. Would definitely recommend this one.

A true hidden gem in Kansas…read more The menu brings a vintage Route 66 vibe with a classic Kansas twist that makes the whole experience feel nostalgic in the best way. Everything is made fresh to order, so don't expect a quick in-and-out meal unless you call ahead. The wait is part of the process, and honestly, it shows in the quality. If you are vegan or vegetarian, there are a few things to be aware of. The menu can be a bit misleading. The grill top and utensils are shared with meat, and all fried food is cooked in beef tallow. That means fried items are not vegan or vegetarian. If cross contamination is a concern, I recommend letting the staff know so they can change gloves and sticking with options like a salad without meat toppings. The staff was extremely friendly and happy to answer questions, which made navigating the menu much easier. I didn't notice a microwave, and it was pretty busy during my visit, but it might be worth asking if the black bean or vegan patty can be prepared separately. There are gluten free and keto options on the menu. Others in my group really enjoyed their meals, and my salad was fresh presented well. I would definitely come back. I just wish there were more clearly food prepseparated options for vegetarian and vegan dishes so more people could fully enjoy what they offer. OH and if you dare, there is a food challenge with their habanero sauce!

We stopped at Do-B's on our way to Prairie National Reserve and it lived up to my expectations…read more It's on a quiet street in Emporia and has a lot of food choices, from fish to wraps to burgers etc. It's also one of the highest rated restaurants in the area and I can definitely see why. The place gave me a fast casual eatery vibe but also a little feel of grandma's house because of this small glass showcase they had with some items in it. All food items are priced decently. I got the blackened fish with rice and fries and my husband got the Hornet Burger with fries. Both dishes were really good. The fish was cooked just right, moist and seasoned really well. The burger was also done perfectly with a juicy tasty patty. Fries were fresh and crispy...cherry on top!! Service was quick and the staff was very sweet. The restaurant was also very clean. They even have some of their own sauces and salsas for sale, plus some grab-and-go options which is nice and convenient especially for college students. Note - they also have a Do-B's reaper burger challenge which sounds fascinating. However, I don't ever think i will be able to try it ever Haha. To conclude - 5/5 for me.
