The bakery was great. I purchased Butter Boy shortbread for my husband and he said they were delicious. It was a great shopping experience. The aisles appeared wider than normal grocery aisles which made a more comfortable experience also. The staff was helpful and there were sample stations near the prepared food aisles. I left buying more than I needed. It is unfortunate Wegmans is so far from home. I could see myself shopping there on a regular basis. If I am ever near another Wegmans I will be shopping other for sure!

This location has a lot of great features. The cafe area has pizza, sushi, subs, salads, soups all ready to eat or made to order. They also have a large selection of pre-packaged items that can be eaten in or taken home to enjoy. The cafe space is clean and well maintained with a variety of seating options (including a small kids table area which is fun if you bring little ones). The parking lot is well lit and well maintained and has plenty of accessible spaces (including some marked for those that are pregnant or with small children). There is an amazing bakery with a wide variety of freshly baked goods, a large wine and beer selection, more varieties of cheese than you ever knew existed and tons of great meats and seafoods. The standard grocery store area of the store is well stocked, well marked and it is easy to find what you are looking for. They have a lot of their own branded products and they are affordably priced with a nice variety. Some of my favorites are their cereals and their sparkling waters. There are ample cashiers available and they are always courteous and efficient. Whether you are looking for a specialty item or just doing your weekly shopping, this Wegmans is wonderful.

But as always with Wegman's, everything is fresh and nicely presented, the selection is broad and the prices are fair. This location also has a surprisingly robust selection of Erie/Presque Isle souviners, along with Bills, SeaWolves, and Otters merchandise. It's all right behind the wall between the bakery and checkout, so you've got to go through the greeting cards to get to it, but if you're looking for a t-shirt, magnet, plushie, etc., they've got better quality and prices than most of the souvenir shops.

I also did buy some of the Amish roll butter they carry to try. Picked up some pastries too. Now I grew up in the area way back when and loved their breads. So as we were there they were bringing out fresh breads. I saw they had pepperoni bread and figured since I loved their breads it had to be good. But to my surprise it was not up to par. The bread was good but it was way short on pepperoni. I will have to stick to where I get my pepperoni bread at "west lake bakery and deli" in Erie. See pictures to judge for yourself. There is no world where slamming your fists on the counter and cracking your knuckles is an appropriate way to talk to customers. I assumed I would be paying a lot and might not have a lot of selection in such a small store in a tiny visitor town. I was wrong. I was impressed with the size of the store once I was in. I was surprised also with the selection that was offered. The produce (specifically the Broccoli which I had to buy) was a bit more costly than I would normally pay, but it was fresh and wrapped. All of the produce looked fresh, as well as the meat. I would not hesitate coming to the store again if I needed to.

The door watchers in this Walmart are some of the worst I've seen…read moreTrevor I think it is 6 foot tall chunky country guy looks like he doesn't wanna be there most days barely ever smiles I've gotten some serious attitude out of several of there employees employees that are sad stories or angry for no apparent reason. This store is not busy for large portions of the evening yet somehow it's hard for the door watchers to be friendly And it seems like every time they hire a new employee they need to be babied for a month to learn how to provide reasonable customer service.
