While it is on the pricey side, which is…read morewhy I mostly window-shopped during my time as a poor college student at OSU, now as an alumni I love to come in on football weekends and pick up some cute orange gear as well as browse the excellent NorthFace selection that is frequently carried in smaller sizes than other shops. The main reason for my 5-star rating is due to the level of service that I received with my latest purchase. During the coldest Bedlam game I have ever experienced, I stopped in looking for the warmest coat I could find. I found a great (and not cheap) puffy NorthFace jacket that I purchased and carried with me until the game started. Unfortunately when I put it on, I noticed several small slits at the bottom of the jacket where the stuffing was coming out. At the end of the game, we brought the jacket back and they offered to personally take the jacket to their NorthFace rep in Dallas to be either repaired or replaced under the NorthFace warranty. Unfortunately after inspection, the NorthFace rep could not help as it was apparently a burn and not a tear (which I am sure I did at some point when walking through numerous tailgates with heaters blazing). Nonetheless, the store manager offered to have it repaired at their tailor at no cost to me, and even had it shipped to my house in Tulsa! I greatly appreciated the level of service that I often do not experience at other retailers these days and plan to continue shopping at The Wooden Nickel in the future.

No problem says Wooden Nickel we will contact you once we have them in stock. Honestly, we have all heard that before, but sure enough, 10 days later we received a text and an email that said that they were ready to go. Went to the attached invoice, paid using ApplePay, and received a text that afternoon that they had already taken them to the post office to mail! We will be back in Stillwater often and will be shopping here lots!

Discount store with random new stuff in shipment. Snacks, clothes, home decor, pet treats and toys, baby junk, makeup, jewelry, hats, shoes, and purses. Great selection of frames and pet toys and treats. Could use a different variety of clothes and more makeup but they can't control what they get. The prices are on par with Tj maxx. My only complaints are: 1) they need to lock up the makeup and expensive perfumes in safer boxes. (Google "retail safer boxes", SG Systems sells them). I literally saw a woman open foundation and put it on her hand then put it back on the shelf. Also people trying sprays in the aisles. With the boxes, they're clear and the products can be see without being touched or stolen. Especially makeup or expensive perfume Complaint 2: the country music was bad enough but it was almost blaringly loud. I'm not old, but music that loud isn't needed in a small store. It made me wanna just leave faster, not shop more lol. Maybe they'll fix the music selection and volume soon. I shut out the tiny Dave Ramsey that's been following me around since I saw the holiday damages and went straight for the racks! The woman working had to have been the owner because she was so attentive; she offered to start me a fitting room when I picked up my very first item. A few of my favorite pieces are from here, including an Eisley LBD from several years ago - I think I paid $50 for and have worn at least 50 times! They have a ton of great stuff right now: maxi dresses, Thunder tees, lots of fun chevron, scarves, dresses, etc. I found a sheer purple blouse that I can wear now with a jacket but all spring and summer too! I decided to wear it out, so they rang me up quickly and we visited for a few minutes. It's a treat to shop somewhere with people that will visit with you and make you feel like they're happy to have you in the store. So many places treat you like you're a burden, especially if you're not just seeing how much money you can spend. I could spend so much money in here, but they're nice to me even when I'm just buying one small thing. I love my new blouse. I've worn it twice since I bought it! Thanks Blush!
