The gentleman at the desk, who I presume was the owner, said it would be about an hour before he could help. I asked if we could just fill the tire to see how fast it was leaking. He said yes, and while he filled it, he looked at the tire and spotted something. "I think I found the problem," he said. I have been completely satisfied with the repairs Cletus has made to our vehicles. In my opinion, he could charge double what he charges now, and I'd still bring our cars to him. Why? Because I trust that he's not trying to rip me off. If he says something needs to be done, it really needs to be done. If it doesn't he'll say so. The only downside is that his reputation for honesty and good work has spread, and now it takes a long time to get your car in!

I have been debating on writing this review for a while now. About three weeks ago I slid into…read morecurve in a snow storm. Blew out the front right tire and broke the rim. Needed a new rim so on Monday of that week I emailed what happened and arranged for service on Friday. When I arrived I explained why I was there, that I also needed help with my Toyota app on my phone and that I wanted a service tech to check things out to see if there was more damage. Eventually they replaced the rim and got my app working. They then told me that the wheel bearing was bad and needed replacing. They gave me an estimate and said it would take a day or two to get the part. I called the next Monday and made an appointment for that Friday. I asked how long it would take, explaining I had an appointment at 3 PM. She, the service tech, stated it would take an hour to an hour and a half. Okay can deal with that. I get there that Friday and check in. The service rep asked why I was there and I told him about replacing the wheel bearing and that I again needed s0omeone to fix my toyota app on my phone because it stopped working. He started writing everything up when another service rep, same one that took care of me the week before, came up and said he was taking over. This rep said he needed to ask a few questions for the warranty. I had not then or before mentioned anything about the warranty. He asked if I had been in an accident. Strange, I had told him the week before what happened but I guess he either didn't remember or didn't write it down. When I told him about the accident he replies "good, that changes everything". He proceeded to ask questions about why I thought the wheel bearing was bad and to describe it to him. I did but became suspicious because he was the one that told me it was bad and needed replacing. When I brought that up he said that the service tech who worked on my vehicle a week earlier was good at his job but didn't have experience in this situation. He said he had a guy who did and he would look at it, test drive it and put it on the diagnostics to be sure. I asked how long everything was going to take and he said the rest of the afternoon. This isn't what I was told when I set up the appointment. When I brought this up he said she, the person i orginally talked with, didn't have all the information. I told him I couldn't do this appointment, that I didn't have the time. I told him I had an appointment at 3pm, it was 1:30pm then. He again said no problem. I again said I couldn't do it. He said we could just do the diagnostician and there was plenty of time. I again told him I had a 3pm appointment to pick up my brother from his dialysis. Again no problem. At 3:10 pm, having just taken a call from my brother to find out where I was, I was called to the service desk where I was told that the wheel bearing was in fact needing replaced. At this point I am furious and didn't trust myself to say anything. He charged me $172 for the diagnostic but would take it off the estimate for replacing the wheel bearing. Then he asked if I wanted to make an appointment for the wheel bearing. I thought that was the purpose of this appointment. I told him no, paid the bill and left. I feel that I have been the victim of a bait and switch scam. Everything that service did and said was bogus and untruthful. They first tell you it needed replacing and then tell you the first service tech was incumbent, have a "qualified service rep" look at it to make the right determination. And charge you $172 for it. Also they never looked at the Toyota app either. Plus, after being repeatedly told I had an appointment at 3pm, they kept me from making that appointment. I have decided not to have this company do any repairs on my vehicle. I was going to take it to anther Toyota dealer near by to have the work done but their yelp rating is worst than this. So I will have to get an independent shop to do the work, and then see about trading off this vehicle for something new that I can trust and believe in its' service department. I had trusted this company but can no longer. They obviously can't be trusted.

Unfortunately, my car took this moment to have a transmission failure. My friend towed my car to Bion's because they were a Mom and Pop kinda shop and she trusted them more. The diagnoses was that my transmission had leaked dry possibly due to a gasket or cap leak. Inspection, replacement, and flush were all quoted at $900 by Randy. I had always been told that transmission flushes are slightly dangerous for transmissions because they may jar sediment or impurities lose, only to get that sediment stuck somewhere else in the mechanism resulting in damage. Randy assured me that this would not be an issue and that I "would be taken care of." The next morning, the repairs were inexplicably jacked up to $1,300. The transmission was sticking in 4th and my new mechanic, Mike, didn't know why. He examined my transmission fluid and noted there was a lot of "metal fragments" in it and he didn't know why. Mike also said that if I wanted him to find the problem it would be at least 6 hours of labor for him to inspect my transmission. I want to take the time here to explain I could have ordered a used transmission for less than $1,300. The next day Mike said my car was running fine, and that I should probably replace the transmission. I requested an invoice of the service, and Mike said that he nor Randy new how to scan anything to email me. Here are my concerns: Shouldn't your mechanic accurately diagnose a problem before pouring your money into costly repairs? Shouldn't that mechanic also accurately quote his price? If the inaccuracy of service and failure to meet expectations results in a 45% cost increase, would you prefer the service representative offered to rectify the situation or at least talk to you again? Shouldn't these master mechanics, these tamers of technology, these wielders of wrenches, these kings of combustion... know how to scan a piece of paper into a PDF? TLDR; Cost me $1,300 to get my car to my regular mechanic for further repairs. Expectations not met. I was extremely dissatisfied with my service and do not suggest anyone go here.

I made a note of that and eventually stopped in to see if they could do a check for me. I was met promptly at the service desk on a busy day, and while they couldn't me in same day (which was a Thursday) I was able to schedule an appointment for the following Monday morning. When I arrived, Joel met me at the service desk to get things started. Very smooth check-in process. Joel let me know it would be about an hour to do the check and said they'd text me when it was complete. I told him I'd head over to the Taco Bell next door and be back after that. Joel pointed out that some sort of construction had started that morning at Taco Bell and that it didn't look open (turns out it wasn't). That didn't stop me from breaking fast. Joel set me up with a loaner vehicle so I could go grab a bit to eat. Sure enough, about an hour later (as I'm finishing my breakfast) Joel called, let me know that the freon was low and that they topped it off, and that the car was ready. When I arrived, we completed payment in no time, and I was out the door with cold AC at a very reasonable price. I'm glad I got the work done at Nelson - friendly, knowledgeable folks who work quickly and charge reasonably. I would not hesitate to go back for additional service needs.
