The first time no one was there, just a note on the door that said someone would be back later. We stopped today, no garbage cans, no bathroom(also a note on the door, didn't go in) and their gas is way too expensive (about 0.50/gal more than anywhere else). Sometimes the mom and pop stores are the best experiences, compared to chain stores, not so here. We stopped simply for gas (overpriced, as previously mentioned by others). Like many travelers, we figured why not get a snack and go to the bathroom. There is no public restroom, and as mentioned by everyone the person (man, in this case) behind the counter was not the friendliest. The customer area of the store is probably 8x10, and the snack selection was very limited. As others noted, I'd try to stop at the gas station before or hold off until after, if possible. Unless you are looking for the entertainment of interacting with the staff and animals. 1 star because that's the minimum you can give and their gas price sign made me laugh. Very clean, including the very heavily used restrooms. Staff constantly keeping everything stocked and registers manned. That staff is great too, welcoming and helpful. Since it is so small I felt I needed to ask if it was ok to park overnight . A lovely member of the team walked me outside and showed me a space my van would fit and I'd feel comfortable. It was a hot day and I was feeling especially sticky after visiting and walking the spiral jetty. So I inquired about showers and went into sticker shock at the cost. I headed out to get my van parked for the night. Sipping a cold drink I reevaluated spending $17. Collecting my shower kit I headed back inside for my first ever truck stop shower. Totally worth the price! And I realized I was getting a very good value. Spotlessly clean room. Plenty of hooks and little shelves for my products. I thought I'd get a towel but did not expect a bathmat and washcloth as well! A lifetime of campground showers at a quarter a minute and cleaned once a day did not prepare me for the comfort of a truck stop shower! The truck stop is as clean as possible with so much use but the shower was spotless. Thank you to all the staff at this flying J and to the owner who obviously is a caring manager of his staff.
