My son had an appointment for today 1/18/2021. I believe he made the appointment in late October…read more He died 12/15/2020 "waiting to be seen". New patients should be given Emergancy priority. They need immediate help. He was referred to this practice by another doctor who could not see him because he was not a drug user. When I called this morning to let the office know he would not be at his appointment because he died the assistant was rude, snippy and said I'll make that note. No sorry for your loss.

I've been very pleased with the care I've gotten from Dr. Menninger, especially in managing my medication. He was extremely helpful and concerned when I developed tardive dyskinesia (TD) from Abilify, which had been prescribed by my former doctor. It turned out I had been taking it at a high dose for quite a long time, and Dr. Menninger thought I should discontinue it. When I did, the TD symptoms showed up (involuntary mouth and facial movements that were obvious and annoying). He's been very good about working with me and my neurologist in coordinating care as I've been treated for the TD symptoms. Dr. Menninger is cautious and conservative when it comes to medication, which I very much appreciate after my experience with Abilify. I see him regularly, although only every few months, to check in on how things are going with my medications. These are short appointments and somehow there's no co-payment for them with my medical plan, so I certainly like that! During appointments Dr. Menninger takes his notes on his computer as he goes along. It seemed odd, at first, as I wasn't used to that, but now I don't notice it, and being "connected" Dr. Menninger can rapidly find and print out studies and articles on various issues for you while you're sitting in his office, which is very handy. All in all, definitely recommended!

Very small portions, no temperature control, and no taste on top of that! In fact they have been cited for violations in reference to the food temperatures and yet still don't check temperatures. Not sure they even own a food thermometer? Obviously nutrition is a big part of the healing process! If you put on your call light, don't expect it to be answered right away. Staff is stretched very thin here! Some of the staff members care a lot more than others, but that's everywhere. Riley was a great Nurse and Lillie was a great tech. Those are the only 2 names I can recall off the top of my head that gave exceptional care. I was there when the Occupational Therapist was doing the final discharge assessment as I am a family member. Talk about rude and no patience! Yes, she has both of those titles! Discharge was a complete disaster!!! When you first arrive at the facility an assessment is done on the equipment you currently have at home. We didn't have a wheelchair and were in desperate need of one as my family member was having a difficult time standing, not to mention walking. Insurance wasn't an issue as my family member had it covered. Also home health was to be ordered as well. Nightmare! So I spoke with the facility the morning of discharge via phone. I asked about the wheelchair? Well we will order it now and hope that it gets delivered by the time you get here. What am I supposed to do in the meantime with my family member not able to walk? It will be delivered to your house. In my opinion, that's just setting us up for failure and basically saying that's your problem now! Thankfully a staff member did allow us to take their wheelchair until we had ours delivered after advocating for my family member! Fast Forward - wheelchair never was delivered nor home health ordered. I even followed up on this the following week as I had two family members there at the same time and discharged at the same time/same destination. Ultimately when I arrived I had to wheel both of them out myself and it was my responsibility to get them in the vehicle by myself. I had to ultimately lift one of them in my minivan due to her not being able to stand or walk and she screamed in severe pain. We left there and went straight to the Emergency room where she was admitted to the hospital for over a week and transferred to an acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital for additional therapy. Also, the Nurse Manager will absolutely take the side of her staff regardless of what you say as a patient or patient's family member. I know this first hand as I had spoke with her on a few occasions about different issues. Complete waste of oxygen and time. This place definitely needs some improvements in a lot of areas throughout the facility with staff, food, etc. It could be a great place with some adjustments. Recent remodeling was done to give it a better atmosphere and appearance. The new floors due make quite a racket with the computers rolling on it though! It would be nice to have fresh fruit readily available for the patients for snacks as well as fresh brewed ice tea.

This if course meant time in physical therapy to build up my straight. As well as time with Occupation Therapy to make sure that I knew how move so as not to reopen the wounds. All of the staff at Hoeger House are very professional. They are very dedicated to every patient that comes into the facility. The therapy staff creates a very good hands on two to three times per day therapy sessions. In these sessions all areas that a patient might need help in is covered. Including personal(bathroom, dressing, hygiene). Hoeger House also includes nutrition with three meals a day. They also offer group get together thru out the week just so that a patient can relax in between therapy sessions. At Hoeger House you can recuperate and relax. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable about what is needed to make ready to go home back into there lives.
