When we were in Rome last year, we explored a few local neighborhoods on foot and saw this store. My husband loves custom clothing so we went in. You could tell the proprietor wasn't used to making shirts for big guys, but he was up to the challenge. There was of course a bit of a language barrier (thank you Rick Steves for your Italian phrasebook), but my hubby ordered two custom shirts. He picked out the collar and fabric, and opted to have his initials monogrammed on the cuffs. The turnaround was quick since we only had 2 days left in the city. We went back to pick up the shirts and they were beautiful, if just a tad bit more fitted for his tastes. He purchased them anyway since they were custom made, but he doesn't really wear them much. Remember American guys, Europeans wear their dress shirts a little bit snug. If you're a skinny dude, you ought to get a shirt made because it's a great (if expensive) souvenir. read more
