The store is located on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay and it does have 30 minute free parking, which is important because the parking on the Embarcadero is always full. I'm sure they would let you run over the 30 minutes if you were shopping in the store. The store is always busy with lots of tourists choosing things to take home as genuine souvenirs. Some of the real beauties are the frames and little animals that they make out of shells as well as the ships made out of shells. I got a lot of scallop shells to use to make craft items with, ranging color from pale white to a beautiful coral in natural colorations. It's a fun place to come visit and simply look at the multitude of shells, or stock up on all reasonably priced shells.

My first class was so enriching and enjoyable that I ended up signing up for the rest of the month. I learned so much in two hours that I'm sure would have taken weeks over YouTube if I were to learn on my own. I just finished my second class and now I'm hooked. I love this community shop which feels like family and home. I went in to ask a question about a tricky section I was working on, and they happily and patiently assisted me through it. Allll of the fabrics were so charming and vibrantly colored - instantly I can see how it would be easy to fall into a quilt making frenzy! Dora was super supportive and engaging. She chatted with us about how she curates her fabrics. It is clear that not one choice is taken for granted. She is so creative and creates quilt kits from bolt remnants that are for sale. Offerings are diverse, I came away with some labels for quilts, sashiko embroidery kit, fabric intended for a Bible book cover, and pre-cut squares to make an easy quilt. The majority of the patterns for free (you get one with purchase) and for sale were written by Dora, herself. The store itself, while small, is easy to get lost in. There are nooks for baby fabric, baby quilt kits, and a holiday themed book replete with fabric and more. I live far from here but will definitely see if I can do online ordering.
