Very Good Indeed. They moved @10 years ago, near Spencer's Market. Was glad to find them while traveling through this area, and they did have what I was looking for, were cheerful, kind and helpful, not to mention patient with me and my selections. I wish I had time to take a quilting course with them, but am traveling. The prices are competitive and grand for selections of notions, yarns of better quality and cheaper brands, many fabrics of all colors! As a man married to a crafter I get dragged to a lot of fabric shops, craft shows, and other places I would never go to otherwise. My wife has been shopping at the Cotton Ball back when it was in a smaller location and at this current location which is much bigger. As the husband who has to wander around aimlessly while his wife shops I don't mind wandering around this store. Super friendly employees with a large selection of fabrics. My wife always buys a boatload of fabric when she's here for her various projects. They seem to have very unique stuff she can't find elsewhere . They've got a frequent buyer card too that doesn't expire. read more

This business is located by highway one in Morro Bay. It's a little hard to spot so be sure to use a driving app if it's your first time there. The staff are very knowledgeable about quilting and always give excellent service. Their selection is small but they have good quality items. read more

My favorite sewing supply shop in town! They always have what I need and the ladies always offer such great advice when I have an issue with my projects. My first exitement is that this gem is open on Sundays! I was extemely pleased with the cutomer service. The woman who helped me runs the long arm machine but wasn't the owner. She was very helpful in walking me through my confusion about a two fabric reverse appliqe pattern. She also showed my some options to use for the applique. I was so excited the shop carried custom designed Morro Bay fabric. I like to collect area specific fabric to eventually make a quilt representing our various travels! Nice fabric and quilting store for the Central Coast community. They have their own uniquely printed fabric designed with the Morro Rock and Three Chimney icons as well as sea life, very cute! They make good use of their space with lots of fabrics, patterns, and notions. Nice staff, too! read more

I have been going to this place for years with my mother. She was a great quilter who was never too busy to browse fabrics. I don't do quilting but I enjoy doing craft projects. Today I purchased some wonderful silk squares and the-dyed velvet. The staff is always nice and helpful. They also have a lot of knowledge which is great. Can't recommend it enough. read more

I stopped at 5 quilt/fabric shops between Buelton and Morro Bay. This was one of my favorites because of the selection of ocean themed and other varieties of quality fabrics. I was happy that they carried silk thread for my hand applique work, too. They also carry many unique patterns. There is also a sweet little dog named, Scruffy that will greet you then follow you around the shop. Worth the drive and it's a beautiful drive. read more

I'm new to the area and was so excited to find a fabric store with such a great supply of fabric, and supplies. I have only been twice; both times the employees seemed very busy and I felt like I was intruding. The first visit, I figured maybe it was just an off day, but the next time I went, I got the same feeling, and one of the employees was in such a foul mood I almost left. I confess, I had some reservations when this great store moved from the middle of town (where husbands could go get some coffee or wander the streets) to it's new spot at the edge of town, down by the stoplight. But I have seen the light! Plenty of parking, always. Two floors of fabrics, lots of light and as always, plenty of help. The best very best part of the Cotton Ball is that they don;t allow me to be "safe". They nudge me into other choices--bigger, smaller, more interesting. great little place here in morrow bay. lovely shop filled with a huge variety of materials in texture and color and print. they take part in the license plate challenge where you get a panel wherever shop you go to. if you spend too much ine you'll end up spending bank but if you're careful you'll be fine! has a bathroom and everything. a little hard to find but a great place to be! read more
