This shop should really have a big neon sign on the front of the store that says: 'SHOP HERE'! I have never visited a more charming shop than the Old Orcutt Yarnery. Not only does it have an impossible amount of beautiful yarn, but it has knitting and crochet books, display yarn samples, buttons, scissors, everything else a fiber artist could use, and best of all, friendly service! All the nice ladies that work there were really welcoming to me and my mama when we entered the shop. They offered us help, they got to know what I wanted to knit by conversation and let us know right away when they have social knitting time, as well as time for personalized help on your projects; they will even wind your purchased yarn for you. What was great is that, after getting a yarn that just wasn't right, I got to go there two days in a row! Again, I was not disappointed. Lisa and Tracy were really happy to see us again and I to see them. Since we had forgotten to wind the yarn the first time, they easily exchanged it for a more flattering color. (But remember - if you wind it, no exchanges or returns!) This cute and welcoming little shop really has everything you need, whether you are a crocheter or knitter. I think that the world needs more places like this. I will definitely be coming back for more soft and fun yarn soon! (Written by my daughter, who loves to knit with me!)
