Steve gave us a tour of the grounds, patios, the community room, and the chapel. He mentioned that he built the chapel, and it was so fun to see the pride in his eyes when he talked about each of the pieces of the chapel and how it was built. The entire grounds were incredibly gorgeous, with chickens, a duck, a cat, and little Gracie (their daschund) roaming about. I spent most of my time drinking tea on one of their screened porches, watching the animals cruise around in absolute silence (we were the only patrons on the property during our stay, score!!). Our breakfast each morning was OUT OF THIS WORLD. My second breakfast was a quiche, bacon, fruit with whipped cream, and oatmeal. I remember Belinda saying that there was a ton of food for me...all I could think was, "Challenge accepted!" Every scrap was eaten except for a small piece of bacon for Gracie. Belinda and Steve were so incredibly warm, welcoming, and personable. I really felt like I was at home with my family. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you so so much for making me feel just like family during our stay.

We have stayed in many B&B's both in the USA and overseas and found this particular one to be the very best. From the moment you enter the property you feel welcome, and at peace.. Everything is so clean and fresh. The way the house and property are decorated is phenomenal and the rooms are stocked with everything you would need to make an excellent stay. The breakfasts were fabulous ( felt like a 5 star restaurant!) and the table settings were always different and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms quiet. Belinda and Steve seem to have thought of everything! We will definitely be back and will also have to check out their new property located in New Braunfels. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

If you're looking for a relaxing Bed & Breakfast in the Texas Hill…read moreCountry with super hospitality, a pool, and beautiful lake views, Justin & Jean Robinson's "Lakehouse Bed and Breakfast at Canyon Lake", managed by Justin as "operator and breakfast chef" is the place to go ! We stayed there from Thursday April 23rd - Sunday April 26th 2026. It was like living in an Italian Villa and you would be hard pressed to find a more gracious host and chef than Justin anywhere ! He's been doing this for over twenty years ! We arrived at the Lakehouse around 3:00 pm and were immediately welcomed by Justin who carried our bags to our upstairs Medici Room and gave us a tour of the house. Justin also provided us with excellent tips on things to see and do in the area, as well as suggestions for restaurants for lunches and dinners. Thursday evening, we ate dinner on the outside patio of Gennaro's Trattoria where we enjoyed their Authentic Italian Kitchen. Friday morning, we enjoyed a delicious omelet breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room overlooking Canyon Lake and great conversation with other guests. Following breakfast, we took a leisurely drive down River Road to the quaint town of Gruene (that's pronounced "Green"). There, we had lunch at the Gruene River Grill, followed by a relaxing stroll through the many antique and boutique shops in Gruene, and a visit to Gruene Hall, Texas' Oldest Dance Hall. We then returned to Canyon Lake and enjoyed some merlot wine and cheese and crackers (which we had brought with us) on the Lakehouse's covered outdoor patio overlooking Canyon Lake. We had dinner at Canyon Lake's Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Grill which offers a full menu. On Saturday morning, we enjoyed a delicious Belgian waffle breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. Following breakfast, we drove to the town of Blanco and visited Arnosky's Flower Farm. After walking around the beautiful flower fields, we bought some beverages and snacks inside Arnosky's barn and sat in the chairs on the barn's covered back porch patio overlooking the flower fields, humming bee feeders, and bird feeders. You could sit there a long time as the scene is ever changing. From Arnosky's, we drove to Tillman's Cabin Resort in Blanco and ate lunch at the Rio Blanco Café overlooking the Blanco river. After lunch, we drove to the original 1885 Blanco Court House in downtown Blanco where we took a leisurely self-guided tour of the courthouse. We also visited Blanco's many antique and boutique shops. Saturday evening, we attended the 4 pm mass at Canyon Lake's St. Thomas The Apostle Church. At the end of mass, we witnessed one of their congregants step up to the lectern with the pastor's approval, talk about what the bible says about a wife, ask the lady in the front row next to us to step forward, and then bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him in front of the entire church congregation, and she said "YES" and they kissed. What a beautiful proposal ! Following mass, we had dinner on the outside patio of Canyon Lake's Elio's Osteria e Pizzeria. On the evening drive back to the Lakehouse, we saw lots of white tail deer in the neighborhood. On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a delicious scone and quiche breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. We again enjoyed conversing with the other guests as we had every day, and then we packed and headed home. Sorry for the length of this review but my wife and I thought readers might enjoy hearing about what one can do from The Lakehouse Bed and Breakfast at Canyon Lake. This private access room includes its own balcony with a hot tub and stunning views of Canyon Lake. The room itself is decorated beautifully and the king bed is super-comfortable. The private on-property pool was the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. I agree with all the previous visitors who raved about Justin's fantastic breakfasts! Day 1 included orange scones and a delicious zucchini fritatta and roasted potatoes - incredible. Day 2, by special request, included strawberries Romanov and eggs benedict with sausage. Thank you, Justin, for the wonderful food and conversation. We highly recommend this gem and can't wait to visit again soon!

After giving me a choice of two rooms, and recommending one in particular (which of course I chose), the reservation person required that I give her my credit card number, date of expiration, security code, my billing address, my email address and also my cellphone number. A few hours later I got an email from her saying that she'd made a mistake and that the rooms she'd described were in fact not available; but that for an extra $50 I could rent a very nice suite that was indeed available. I wrote her back and said that I was disappointed and extremely concerned that she'd required me to give her all the above confidential information for nothing, and that I thought the most fair thing was that they just allow us to stay in the suite she was now saying they had available, but that we shouldn't be charged more. After a couple of days she wrote back to say that she'd talked with the owner and that the owner would not do that; so I could either pay the $50 more or they wouldn't help me. Now . . . you decide. What's the right name for this place? "Prow'd?" Me thinks not (as in Yelp's 1 star "Eeks, me thinks not"). How you treat people matters. Maybe 20 years ago this "Prow'd House" could unprofessionally treat its customers and no one would know. But times have changed and how you treat people these days can become a more public fact. ***PARENTS OF THE BRIDE REVIEW***…read more You have seen our daughter's review, so we thought it was only fair that we provide information from our vantage point as well. My wife and I have been staying at the Square Inn for many years now and have always been impressed with the wonderful hospitality provided by Marci, Lloyd and their team. From the wonderful rooms to the fresh cooked breakfast's every morning it is more like visiting family than staying in a bed and breakfast. When they started construction on their Legacy Lounge our only daughter was already engaged and looking for a venue. We immediately recommended that she consider having her wedding here and once she had a chance to take a look she was sold as well. From the very beginning Marci was there to help with suggestions for the wedding and referrals to local businesses that could help us put together the wedding my daughter wanted. Given that our daughter informed us in November she wanted to be married in late April or early May I do not think we could have put this together without her. In the end we booked not only the Legacy Lounge but all 8 rooms of the Square Inn as well. I highly recommend this arrangement as there were enough rooms for the wedding party and increased the footprint of the event allowing for a truly unique experience. We would find out as time went on that the value received on our money was greater than what we believe we would have received at any of the other venues we looked at. Marci, Lloyd and their team were again on point on the day of the wedding providing the services of wedding coordinator, bar staff and entertainment coordinator. There was never a long line at the bar. When some guests wanted to watch the hockey playoffs Marci made that happen on an outside TV. Fire Pit? Here came Lloyd to make the fire come to life. It was almost as if it were if it was one of their own children was getting married that day. At the end of the evening when it was time to go, we moved the happy couple to the front of the Square Inn where they were able to say goodbye to all their guests and finally relax for the evening. As we had booked all the rooms, only the wedding party remained after the ceremony and reception and the bride and groom were able to spend a quiet night in the courtyard with their closest friends relaxing after what had been a couple of very busy and stressful days. This was the most unique wedding we have ever attended and we cannot think of anything that could have made it better. If you are looking for a somewhere to hold a special event, do yourselves a favor and give the Legacy Lounge / Square inn a look. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

If however you are looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate away from the big city, there is no place better. Nestled in the hill country of Texas, Canyon Sunrise offers a place to get away from it all. The Mariposa cabin is secluded, comfortable and offers everything you need (and more) in a home away from home. Private pool, private jacuzzi, country setting, comfortable accommodations. I couldn't be more pleased with my stay here. The resident cat Bob is sweet and affectionate. The scenery and solitude while sitting on the deck is priceless. After this restful weekend I feel ready to tackle yet another stressful week of work. If I ever have the opportunity to come back to Wimberley Texas, this would definitely be my go-to place to stay.

Of course nearly $200 a night feels costly when you're making the reservation, but when you are looking at the stars from the private hot tub - or from the private pool - the pain on your thinning wallet will dissipate. Everything was very clean. The sheets, comforter and towels were very clean and well laid out. That said, there were a few tiny things that could be improved upon the inside of the cabin (like not putting clean towels next to the toilet), but I don't think this is the forum to note the majority of those issues. Most important for you, gentle reader, is that you'll enjoy a getaway from the big city in this cabin. You should note though: don't expect to get great access to Cypress Creek from this cabin. The beautiful creek that snakes its way thru Wimberley is not adjacent to these cabins. Also, the majority of the access points to Cypress Creek are on private property, so I wouldn't recommend going to Wimberley to spend time near/in the creek (unless you drop a ton of cash on a rental that specifically notes that it has creek access). This cabin is perfect for a couple that needs some special, private time! It's isolated. Quiet. Secluded. Romantic. Cosy/small. It has very good vibes!
