This place is quite popular and often has quite a big queue, never a problem though as the staff are efficient and service is spot on. Pretty consistent and always fresh food, with all the expected bits and bobs on offer. Only once or twice have I ever been let down by this place, think they had turned the cookers off a few months ago and was less than impressed with a lukewarm fish that I needed to reheat( I keep going back and that speaks for itself.

Fresh haddock, hand cut chips skillfully fried and served hot with choices of sauces. Lashes of salt and vinegar is my recommendation. Couple of chairs and tables to sit and enjoy your food, or sit outside on the bench and have them the good old British way. Very nice staff, we met the owner who has been cooking them for 30 years in the same traditional manner, so if your travels ever bring you to Ossett, please stop in and enjoy a taste of Great Britain, with bits on!

i arrived STARVING on this Thursday evening and i am utterly appalled by the service i received…read more!!!! A colleague member by the name of ethan felkin ( as known by asking for it as i was so utterly annoyed ) i started by asking for a simple sausage and chips and a steak pie and chips and i was then asked to pull up and wait in the car park when i approached the window so i proceeded as asked. after 45 minutes of waiting i stormed up to the window and complained about the service for this same server to have attitude with me and tell me i was in the wrong !!! Absolutely disgusted as he told me it takes ten minutes to cook sausages and could not explain to me why it took 40 minutes for a sausage and chips but was completely unsympathetic for the fact i had waited this long and completely disregarded my feelings on the situation. he responded with rude and snappy remarks such as " go fuck yourself you speccy eyed cunt " lol , this is complete jokes , xoxo ethan xxxx
