My husband and I have been using Cottage Care since shortly after we moved to Baton Rouge in 2017, first for our apartment and now our house. We have been consistently very happy with their service over the years. Everyone they send does a great job, but we especially love having Ame clean for us. She always goes above and beyond expectations and leaves everything absolutely sparkling! Sam has also cleaned for us several times and I highly recommend her as well! Horrible, horrible service! Where to even begin? First the lady showed up & disclosed that she has gained 75 pounds since her sobriety. That's great; you're sober, but I don't know you. Should I hide the medicine or alcohol? I don't mind her background, but it wasn't very professional to start off with that. Then she tells me that they do not clean toilets. According to this cleaning crew feces & vomit are considered a hazard. Well my 91 y/o grandfather does not have E. coli. This is absurd. You are a maid, paid to clean. Wear gloves. Do your job. My aunt calls the manager to complain about this. The manager says they do not clean toilets then texts the cleaning lady right away saying something about her sobriety comment. Well now I'm in an awkward position. The cleaning lady asks to speak with me then breaks down saying she was homeless & proud of her sobriety & that if she makes me feel uncomfortable she can just leave. Well now I'm totally uncomfortable in my own home. I got back from work to see that: 1. The bed was not made. The sheets were still in the dryer. Oh, with this company you have to wash your own sheets in order for them to make the bed, so I was told. 2. Plastic bags were not replaced in the emptied out bathroom garbage cans. 3. EVERYTHING was out of place. You could tell where they touched. Most of the stuff wasn't lifted up to be cleaned. It was cleaned around items. 4. Toilets were not cleaned since that's considered a "hazard." 5. The kitchen counter had sticky spots all over it. 6. Peanuts were found on the tv console. 7. The microwave was not cleaned. 8. The trash was not taken out. 9. I had a dirty towel on the floor that I used to wipe up the water from the shower. The lady hung up my dirty towel right over my robe. 10. She left trash that wasn't in my trash can right next to it instead of throwing it out. This place is a joke. I would not recommend this service by any means. read more

Honestly, this company does not deserve a 1. Can we create an option for 0 or a number that comes before 0? Perhaps, a negative number. This is the worst cleaning service I've ever had. We walked in to find milk stains on our counter. The Caucasian girl said it was wax and they don't "clean wax" but it was really milk, that easily came up with water. They spent 3 hours, THREE HOURS, 1,2,3 and did NOTHING! We are still wondering what exactly did they do. The floors were not swept, vacuumed or mopped (as we asked for). There were stains all over the floors of our house; even the places that were suppose to receive an actual hand wash clean; they received the bare minimum. Mirrors were not clean. I'm so upset because I was looking forward to an actual cleaning. Once we asked them to leave because I wasn't feeling unwell and they'd taken too much time to do nothing, they got an attitude and had every excuse as to why something was not properly done. I would say more so the Caucasian than the other girl had a horrible attitude. The nerve! How can you have a nasty attitude when you leave someone's house nasty. Well in that case, I guess it's fitting. Do not let them clean your house. It will not be clean. Do not be fooled by the good reviews. They did an awful job here. read more
