Horrible!!! Used…read morethem for possibly 5 yrs servicing 4 different cars. They are good at general mechanics. But complex, No!!! Here are 4 situations that made me see new mechanics: 1.) 8 yrs ago, I overheated the engine and cracked the block on my 1984 Landcruiser. They rebuilt the engine, for about $8,000.00. While in the process, Tim claimed the bottom did not need rebuilding. So they closed up the engine. But I was now burning oil. 2 Qts/ 500 miles. They refused to fix the problem. Tim blamed that I told them to not rebuild the bottom end of the engine. (Ask him about it!) 2.) Just last month, Feb 2026, the catalytic converter on my Landcruiser started to fail. They installed that about 6yrs ago, for about $1,200.00. 3.) 2006 V70,Volvo had a small radiator leak. I brought it in each of the 2 times the Low Level light went on. Each time, they could not find the leak. The 3rd time I brought it in was because the radiator blew and the car overheated. I told them to check that I had not cracked the block before repairing the radiator. They repaired the radiator first., about $1,200.00. Then determined the block was cracked. (Rebuild by Swedish Motors was $6,000.00.) 4.) 2009 S80 Volvo. Had them look at this car to see if it was safe to buy, for my 17yr old daughter. The results of their inspection was "it's in great shape". 1 yr later the transmission went. And I found out that this was the one yr Volvo used a Ford impala transmission. No replacement parts, used or rebuilt transmissions were available, per Swedish Motors. I had to scrap the car. When I confronted Tim and Tyler that they should have known this about this model they said that was something I should have known about the car. I took my 1999 Jeep Wrangler in for a really bad vibration - rear driveline. The CV was worn out. I had problems with this for many years and even had the transmission rebuilt. Eric had a custom manufactured, heavy duty CV with critical balancing technology made for my specific vehicle. After spending in excess of $10K in Phoenix over the past 12 years to get rid of steering wheel vibration, Eric has my jeep purring at high speeds. Windsor Diesel is the only shop in the four corners that I will take my 1998 Dodge Dually (Cummins engine) and my 1999 Jeep Wrangler to for any/all repairs. He brought us over to the car and showed us how the person who replaced my tires actually lost a weight on one and tried to cover it up too! So we were prepared to to pay like $300 and ended up paying for a $25 brake adjustment. Really impressed with the honesty of this place.

I took my Honda in in March to have the brakes bled. After they looked at it their assessment was…read moresupposed to be about $220, but turned into over $700, and resulted in worse problems than when I brought it in. They told me my rear calipers were "frozen". They had my car over 3 days, cleaned me out, refused giving me a written warranty only verbal "lifetime guarantee" on the pads, both rear tires were missing the valve stem caps (why would you steal the caps off the tires?) plus the "new" rear rotors and calipers they charged me for are no good. The "new" calipers were leaking rust after one week and the rotors make grinding sounds. A couple of months ago I slammed on the brakes to avoid a red light runner, going only 15 mph, making a turn from a full stop, (I rarely drive anymore) and the brakes failed and caused a light fender bender. Every time I drive my car since I picked it up from them you can hear the wheels grinding. They never bled the brakes either. The pedal goes to the floor at a red light and I have to pump the pedal at long lights. I just can't go back in there even though I've told my husband I'd need him to go with me because they scare me. They seemed nice but sloppy (with parts boxes all over the "lobby"), and who the heck steals valve stem caps? OMG Do not ever go in here unless you like being ripped off big time. Since it's been 8 months and I still just can't get myself to go back to them, I'm writing my poor review here. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2017...The Brake Shop has closed down.

BEWARE! I have had my jeep for 12 years and while I have had some problems, it has been pretty…read morereliable. That was until I brought it to On the Side. I brought it there less than 3 months ago to have them check out the whole car to see if there were any issues. They, of course, found some issues and charged me about $2000 to fix them (ball joints, tie rods, spark plugs etc.) This was after they were supposed to have fully checked the car. I had them do all their recommended fixes, which included fixing issues with the radiator that they said were needed. Well, that is where the issues started! About 1.5 weeks later, my clutch fails without any warning. My clutch has been fully reliable and solid up to that point, no signs of wearing out. So I go back and pay them about $1500 to fix that issue. Or course, maybe a coincidence that they did not find it during their checks. The car also had some issues with the gear going into reverse that were not fixed by the clutch replacement (they claimed they did not even find it after fixing the clutch), and their response was "well, that's just a jeep". (This was their first point not standing behind their repairs). A few weeks later I go to have the oil changed and they tell me that my car is a couple quarts low on oil. Shouldn't they found this on their review of the car? (I would think so, but when I brought this up with Angelo, he said "well, we didn't check the oil".) I brought it in for a full review and they did not check the oil!?! They had done almost $3500 of work including a work-up of the car and did not EVER check the oil? OK, I let that one go too, and then a some weeks later the radiator fails - cracks and fails completely! They had just worked on the radiator and did not see any issue that would lead to a total failure? And when I brought it to them, their answer was "radiators fail all the time... when it rains, it pours". Really? Maybe it should be better stated, when you bring your car to On the Side Automotive it pours. That was the last straw. I have had good and bad mechanics in the past. Good mechanics stand behind their work and never seem to generate new issues on the car after they work on it. Bad mechanics never stand behind their work and seem to, as if by magic, generate consistent repairs on a car. Angelo seems like a nice enough guy, but based on my experience, I would not trust him with an oil change unless you want a major repair in the near future. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I feel a lot of shame...
