I've taken Tristan my 2004 Nissan Titan, and he found that repairs performed in the past were done incorrectly. He repaired my Titan with issues that I was simply living with due to fears of expenses of the repairs. Honestly. (Period) Tristan saved me over $1000 on my cracked exhaust manifold repair with performing the labor over taking my truck to Tynans. Tristan now works on all of our vehicles. From my girlfriends 2014 F150 (vs the dealership some day) to her Prius, my 2002 Camry to my Dream ride of my stock 1977 Ford Bronco Ranger. I will only allow Tristan to touch our vehicles. If your a single lady/mother stressing about getting taken advantage of with a costly repair at another repair shop and dealing with the unknowns, worried of your vehicles safety; trust Tristan Barr and appreciate his honesty. He is by far worth every red cent I've ever paid him. I was very surprised with his turn around time on his repairs. Tristan specializes in diesel repair but he has help us and others out so much that I give him a hard time about his business name. I hope one day he will start up another subsidiary business called Car Lab as to get others to meet him who thinks it's just a place for trucks. If you live in NoCo you're wasting your money to not drive to Berthoud and at the least hear Tristans opinion! I wish I would have found Tristan years ago when I owned my 1993 W250 Turbo Cummins. In comparison of other shops in our area, Tristan charges less than I'm used to while still saving customers money in labor by being so timely. Good luck finding someone better.

Attended the new shop opening, located just off I-25 and Colorado route 66, where I met Mr. Maggio's family and some of the other customers who call Hands On Autotech their home for vehicle repair and servicing. I first went there based on the recommendation of the Martino troubleshooter show on 630 KHOW AM radio; 10 AM - 2PM, M-F. My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

Spent $200 for a wheel bearing replacement at a different place. Found out later the wheel bearing was not the problem, it was a lose wire that goes from the wheel bearing to the ABS pump. Cote's also changed my water pump and did not replace the serpiten belt back on properly and it came lose driving back from Loveland. Runied my belt and ripped the hood liner. That did not replace either one. Go to BTAuto if you want great service.

Fixed the noise in the left wheel. The break pad was cutting into the rotor. Cote's replace the radiator and water pump a year ago and didn't get the serpentine belt on all the was and it shredded on me. I took the car back, had to replace it with a used belt I had myself. When the belt shredded it ripped my hood lined. The didn't replace it either. Don't go there
