Worst costco I've been to unfortunately. I have visited several costcos primarily in NY and NJ, but also far from home in places such as California, Arizona and in Vancouver. This particular location I feel is the least pleasant. There are only a few workers here that are hospitable, but the majority of them are apathetic and unenthusiastic. The person in the tire center had no attention to what I was saying or asking and it just seemed that he didn't care. I am giving this three stars because of the value costco always provides. I will always find solace in cheap hot dogs and pizza, free samples, variety and the sheer abundance of goods and items in this business. read more

This is absolutely the worst Costco store I have ever been to. Packed aisles that you can't walk through, rude people, filthy floor and shelves, lines to checkout run halfway through the store. I like coming here, they have nice line of products. Of course not everything is wholesale price, some days you can find better deals in your own grocery or pharmacy!! Quality of meat section is one if the best deals you get, especially beef, fish, boneless leg of lamb ($6/pound). Lately i am disappointed with how they implement COVID-19 guidelines. They have too many people in the warehouse, people are too close, especially by the registers they push people even closer when you check out. I had to argue with their employees twice!!, cannot keep us too close to other customers, i was harassed with one of them tried to take my cart out of the lane, just because I didn't proceed as he requested, which was too close. This place is disgusting. Food court cashier Althea should quit her job. Disgusting behavior and not willing to accommodate customers AFTER they spend their money. Food is not worth the frustration. She offered to get a manager to explain why the food wasn't wrapped up appropriate. Doorman takes 2 receipts. 1 for food and 1 for groceries bought. He screams that I'm missing a receipt. I ask for what I gave him and at first he refused until I said sir I gave you 2 receipts. Then it's "oh". Not sorry or even a kind word. I've been to Costco and never really had a negative experience when it came to the staff. Today December 27, 2025 5pm I decided to visit this location and upon checking my items out the cashier Matthew O. Was very sarcastic and rude from the jump. Literally for no reason and I was very confused but I still held my composure. He kept making a big deal about me trying to redeem my shop card without giving me proper instructions. He tried to treat me like a dummy and I really didn't appreciate that. I hope he gets the karma he deserves because if I would've jumped out my body it would've be critical. It's Costco and it's always chaos from the parking lot to getting through the isles and don't get me started with the check out area a mess always. I stopped to grab some strawberry ice cream and my man got a slice which always attracts the seagulls in the parking lot lol. I don't really have much to add about the service. read more

My colleague usually shops at this COSTCO and I usually go with her when I need to stock up a few things. We like to shop here right when it opens to avoid huge crowds. There were occasions where there were short checkout lines. I like that this COSTCO offers a couple of frozen Asian foods. I like the CJ Food bibigo dumplings and CP brand shrimp wonton soup. I find that the milk is cheaper at my local grocery store. The fruits and veggies are fresh. Overall, it's one of the less chaotic COSTCOs that have shopped at (i.e. Rego Park or Westbury location). read more

I am an avid customer of Costco and shop there once a month. The selections of groceries, home goods, etc at Costco are excellent due the affordable prices and options to choose from. I have shopped at so many different locations and always find what I am looking for. Costco is always crowded, but the wholesale grocer is worth the lines and crowds due the freshness and quality of their products. My favorite things the organic bananas, avocados and the Kirkland Alkaline water. This location now has a liquor store which is a great addition to the site. The liquor store is open to anyone without a Costco membership card. read more

Lots of choices with very reasonable prices. It does get a bit crowded, but the staff does try to get you out quickly.

The important update is the crowding disallows social distancing and so I won't return to this location until herd immunity or vaccine. It's unfortunate staff don't gate and limit entry to allow social distancing unlike other locations further from the city. read more

This store is not as crowded as other Costco locations. I come here all the time for the food counter. I absolutely love the touch screens to save a bunch of time waiting in line to counter. I wish they were at every Costco. I usually get the Caesar salad or the Acai bowl. Or mixed with vanilla froyo. It is very cheap for Acai and is tasty. I am also a big fan of costco in general as they have good quality goods for decent prices if you're willing to get lots of quantity. I love their return policy as well. read more

Costco meets all my seafood needs and great seasonings by the bulk for great prices. They offer samples of items you can purchase in the store - which is great because you can be wondering around Costco for hours due to it being such a large store. Parking is easy to get and the employees are helpful as well. Beware they only accept Visa cards NOT discover cards which was disappointing for me since discover gives % back for shopping at wholesale. The basic membership card cost about $66 with tax - and YES u do need a membership card to shop in the store or have a friend who has a card and they'll let u in. Costco is always packed so make sure you know what groceries u need when u go in, lines are always long. Doesn't matter which day you go there. read more

l love Costco, but for some reason the company has started to employ the most discourteous staff these days. One of their workers her name is OP# 84 Naomi P. i greeted her good morning and she just looked at me and told me to take everything out the cart. Mind you I only had 4 items that were very easy to scan. I asked if she could scan in the cart and yelled at me and said "no, I toof you to take them out the cart"! Very average/below average store. The Oceanside location is way better. I feel like this store is smaller and either has a smaller selection or doesn't stock everything. It's very slow here including at the food counter. The workers do wear masks but I've repeatedly seen them not wear them on their noses, or pull down their masks to speak. I also feel like they don't really enforce mask rules or care here. I constantly see people shopping with their masks down walking right past workers and not being told to put them back on. I definitely prefer other locations over this one and I would recommend going elsewhere read more

Terrible experience. Had an appointment at 11:00 am to have 4 tires installed. This is after waiting 8 business days for them to arrive. (For a 2017 Jeep, not exactly exotic) It is now 1:10pm, I'm sitting here waiting for one guy to install tires on 4 cars before he can get to mine... so 3 plus hours waiting.... with an appointment. I love this location. Costco is bulk shopping at its best but this location is the focus of my review. It's close by so I'm slightly driven by convenience but this location is clean , there's plenty of parking, the workers are incredibly pleasant, there's plenty of them everywhere to answer your questions and address concerens. Pros: Pharmacy with an optomologist, cheap rx fills, Huge bakery and meals to go section, cheap delicious bday cakes. You can recycle water bottles. Stand alone Verizon and T-Mobile counters. Clean bathrooms. Cons: It can get crazy around holidays but especially near Jewish holidays and Easter because it's close to large Jewish communities. There are times when the milk house is empty at 6pm which is annoying. read more

All food items, multiple products and clothes are all so well organized that sometimes coming here I feel like taking my kids and all my friends kids to show to them how even such an enormous place can be in such a perfect order, but they (our kids) can't even keep their only one room clean and somehow partially organized! Well, let's talk about Cosco instead.... Prices are amazing here but... you need to know the real ones in reg sizes basic packages to fully understand the difference between wholesale and the ones that at the regular stores. But if you have a big family or shopping for upcoming event or even for School or office this place is perfect place to get everything on your list into your carriage as one stop deal. read more

I picked up my medication at the pharmacy today and it's the wrong medicine I called the pharmacy up and the pharmacist told me it's just a different manufacturer I've been taking this medicine for 25 years you're supposed to put it under your tongue and it dissolves this one doesn't dissolve he insisted that it's not a mistake it's not going to kill me or anything but it's the wrong medicine no refund no explanation except it's the it's the manufacturer! Terrible customer service. I usually avoid going here cause every time you go the employee has a comment to make about something. Literally bought two things so I left it in the cart, the employee took the cart and the cashier scanned it. Because they both lack communication skills, the cashier told me next time to take it out the cart. A simple few words that could've been passed between her and the person that took the cart from me could avoid her nasty behavior. Communication is KEY. read more

I had a great time at this Costco. How does someone get to this Lawrence, NY from Manhattan, you ask? I ended up using a zipcar that we rented when I had to take my boo's mom and sis to JFK. It's a few miles from the airport, and the cost to rent the car was virtually the same as giving them a taxi for a one way ride. This Costco is large and in charge! The parking lot was nice, the area was reminiscent of the suburbs in California and TX with the huge strip malls. We were there and the samples were okay. We had a great experience with one of the guys serving though. We were joking with him because the folks in front of him were trying to reach over and grab the little slivers of meat before he could place them on the table. I said, "gotta be careful b/c you might lose a finger!" He had a laugh with that, and we traded stories. We stood around for the next round of samples and he gave us preferential treatment. He gave us the biggest samples and allowed us to get them from the tray before everyone else! What a treat. It just goes to show you everyone loves being respected and valued. Those sample givers aren't just dispensers for free food, they're people too! So before you just grab and walk away (I'm guilty of this), say hi, and you can stand there and chat and eat at your heart's content. read more

Plenty of samples at this Costco and the workers are super friendly. As I rolled through, they kept stopping me to offer me snacks and I would have eaten them all if some of them weren't meat. Everything was so tasty. And whenever the workers saw me searching around like I was lost they made it their business to come over and help me find what I was looking for. OPTICAL DEPT. I had an eye Dr appointment last week at an external eye Dr. I ordered progressive glasses (I have only worn cheap reading glasses before) from this Costco. The glasses were blurry and I didn't understand how they worked so I asked the guy at the counter that was helping me. He said "Look Straight" - I said I am I can't see. He said "well I don't know, go talk to your doctor". I asked if he could explain or give me some tips. He said "Look Straight". OMG seriously. He didn't see if the fit correctly or if I could see - he just let me leave and hours later I'm still wondering what to do. read more

Ok so I know this is going to sound crazy but this is the BEST place to buy inexpensive roses!! Now if it's your 10th wedding anniversary and you want to knock your wife off her feet you're going to have to spend the big bucks and go elsewhere, but for everyday roses theirs are phenomenal and you get 2 dozen for less than 20 bucks. And they bloom nicely and last longer than most florist bought roses. I was skeptical but I'm now a believer. read more

ARE YOU HUNGRY !!!! Not...Just left Costco in Lawrence NY ... every week we buy barbecue chickens. This week we did not after what we just witnessed. The dude who is doing the birds throws the fallen parts from the rotisserie in a box open to flies and vermin or maybe this will be the fresh chicken salad... YUM! The place is a real health hazard. The racks that they use to hold the birds in the rotisserie fall on the floor, not picked up or cleaned not to mention the bottom of the table is loaded with them in view of customers and uninvited guests. Chickens coming out are handled with gloves because the birds are hot but the gloves were sitting on the stainless table and they weren't even washed. SALMONELLA HERE WE COME! Went to this store manager and she said I am going to check on it. No I am sorry after showing her pictures which I am sharing now... just walked away from me???? I like Costco but this one seems like it needs some upgrades. I came here to buy a few items on a Friday afternoon and the place was a total dump. Not to mention the parking lot was filled with shopping carts, trash, and miserable people. Selection wise they had pretty much the same items like any other Costco. Never had an issue... UNTIL NOW! * I eat 8 egg whites for breakfast daily, so according to the box that's two 3/4 of cup. The messed up part of this is... it's costco. Anyone giving poor reviews on a big bulk discount store is a little wackado. Kidding! lol In any case, you come here on a weekend, plan to stay 2-3 hours. If you want electronics you will be responsible to put it on a cart yourself, and haul it to your car. I wish they had wine at this location like the Brooklyn location as attached to it. Not a fan of Costco. I didn't see that many organic items and everything seemed overpriced. I can definitely find better quality for less at my local supermarket. Also I hate buying in bulk, I don't have a big family so I'm never going to want a 3-5lb block of cheese which was actually pretty cheap. However it'll be all moldy before I eat 1/10th of it. The frozen food aisle is literally stocked with highly processed food and it definitely wasn't worth the price. Everything in their bakery dept is full of chemicals. I literally could not find anything to buy. Their fish dept? I'll go to the fish market, it's much cheaper and fresher. We drove all that way...We bought some aluminum foil.. yeah that's what you come to Costco for.. non-perishables... what else did I get... a gallon of milk for C.. a hydroponic head of lettuce.. a rotisserie chicken and hmm something else. Just a couple of things and it was like $60. Yeah I'll stick to TJs... the rotisserie chicken was not cooked enough and L got sick from eating some of the meat. He wanted me to throw it away but I ended up making congee with it and it was fine. I wouldn't get it again if I was eating it as it... but if I'm going to make congee with it...I might, if I ever return to Costco.. perhaps in another 8-10 years. read more
