Shopping at Costco Wholesale with my wife was an experience that deserves its own documentary. At first, walking in felt like stepping into a small country disguised as a warehouse. The place is massive. I'm pretty sure you could land a small aircraft between the snack aisle and the electronics section. I stood there for a moment doing the classic "deer in headlights" routine, wondering if we needed a compass, trail mix, and maybe a guide rope just to survive the journey. Fortunately, my wife quickly snapped me back to reality. Apparently, this wasn't her first rodeo. She had a system--a well-thought-out shopping strategy that rivaled a military operation. Once she gave me my marching orders and we followed her usual route through the store, everything started to fall into place. Suddenly the overwhelming warehouse transformed into an organized treasure hunt. And what a treasure hunt it is. The selection is incredible. One minute you're looking at everyday groceries, and the next you're discovering sodas you've never seen in your life--flavors that sound like they were invented during a late-night science experiment. Then, just when you think you've seen it all, you realize there's an indoor pizza place casually sitting there like it's the most normal thing in the world. Shopping break? Don't mind if I do. The variety here honestly beats any shopping experience I've had in the last decade. Whether it's food, household items, gadgets, or those random "how did we live without this?" finds, Costco seems to have it all--and usually in sizes large enough to survive the next ice age. By the end of the trip, I went from overwhelmed rookie to proud cart-pushing assistant under my wife's expert leadership. We left with great deals, good food, and enough snacks to make our pantry look like a convenience store. Final verdict: Come prepared, bring a strategy (or a wife who already has one), and be ready for a surprisingly fun adventure. It would take a lot for me to give a Costco anything less than 3 stars, so I find it funny that for this location, most of the locals have panned it, yet all of the out-of-state visitors have praised it. For a few of the locals.....clearly you don't know how Costco works....they don't carry the same stuff ALL the time. Merchandise varies based on so many factors....time of year availability, holidays, customer interest, cost to Costco and if they can pass the savings on to their members. If you really miss an item, let the store manager know, and if they get enough complaints, they will look into getting it back in stock. As for the non-Costco vendors, tell them NO. Repeat, repeat, repeat, and keep on walking; it's not that difficult. The portion sizes are too big? My God. DON'T BUY IT THEN. Sheesh! Or, you know, you could freeze it like the rest of us. We found a few products not available in our Costco in the midwest (and still not there), and picked them up to take home, which is pretty typical everytime we go out of state. It was at this Costco that we discovered they brought books back! We found the location to be a little surprising, what with it being directly across from the Daytona Speedway, but that then gave us a famous landmark to look at, so.... Anyway, it's Costco. This is the closest Costco to me, and it's a three-hour round trip. The products are great, and they have a huge selection of high-quality organic items that are perfect for my son. However, most of the organic produce for me is poor quality, so I also maintain a Sam's Club membership for my own groceries. Yesterday, we went to Costco and were allowed into the store using my membership card. We did all of our shopping, and my card was scanned at the register. After my son paid for the groceries, we were told that my membership card was expired. I honestly thought it didn't expire until next month, so this completely caught me off guard. Then an employee told me they had to refund the purchase because my son does not have his own Costco membership. When I originally signed up, I explained that my son lives with me and that we would shop together, and they told me that was fine. I put my daughter, who lives elsewhere, as the 2nd cardholder. He has paid for groceries all year long without any issues. Despite this, we were forced to put everything back and leave the store to sort it out. I don't carry a Visa card with me, which is required to pay for a Costco membership, so this made things even more difficult. After some scrambling, I realized I had enough money left in my account after paying bills the day before. I transferred funds to my son's account so he could use his Visa card. We went back into Costco and asked if there were any discounts or deals available for him to get a membership. We were told no. He ended up paying $65 for a membership, they bumped my daughter off the account, we shopped all over again, and then paid for the groceries. By this point, we had wasted at least an hour and a half. As we were leaving, I noticed a Costco gift membership that included a $30 gift card. They wouldn't allow my son to buy it for me or allow me to buy it for him. I don't understand what the issue was, but I do know that the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I truly wish I could afford to shop elsewhere and pay higher prices, because the employees at this location clearly don't know what they're doing and don't seem to care about their customers. read more

Store is great. Let me start with that. But if you need to use their on line service, pass! We ordered 3 items and we paid for 2 day delivery which they offer. 2 items showed up after 3 days, and we are not sure if the last item will get here in 4 or 5 days. If you can't deliver in the time you say, don't offer 2 day delivery. 3 stars only because in-store is better. read more

I LOVE a good Costco trip, but this Costco was the worst one I've ever been to by a mile. It's nice that it's not very crowded and the gas station doesn't have super long lines (no complaints about the gas station). However, the people that work here are terrible. First, the lady who rung me up interrogated me about where my drink (a to-go cup from a restaurant) was from and where I got it. When I explained that it was from one of the restaurants in that plaza and I'd asked the lady out front if it was okay for me to bring it in with me, to which she assured me that yes, I could). Then, one of the items that I purchased was rung up at the wrong price, which I noticed on the receipt. Since the customer service desk was on the way out, I figured I would just stop by to get the price fixed. The first person just stood there not knowing what to do. She then had to get someone else to try to help her, which wasn't helpful since the other person also didn't know what she was doing. She tried initially and at the same time was teaching the first customer service worker- but it ended up charging me instead of refunding me. The second worker wore a badge that shared she had been working for Costco since the 80s, so the extent of her usefulness was disappointing. The manager happened to walk by after this and so they quickly asked him for help, and that took forever since he had to undo all of their mistakes. After my refund was processed (finally) the manager didn't give me my receipt- he kept it to point out the mistakes and the coupon codes and the refund numbers etc to the two customer service employees. Surely they could have printed another customer copy or even use the merchant copy for this. Instead, even though I had spent more time standing at that counter than browsing the store, they kept me for another few minutes while using my receipt to point out their errors. Incredibly disrespectful of my time, when the mistakes were all their fault to begin with. I'll never come back to this location. read more

December 1, 2025 approximately 6 PM. I was shopping at Costco. Didn't realize I had left my wallet in a cart that wasn't working well I changed carts but left my wallet approximately 45 minutes to an hour later when checking out I realized I never took my wallet out of the original cart. I wanna think all the employees everybody stopped what they were doing to look for my wallet there was no hesitation and each and every employee I want to say personally thank you too. You kept me calm and looked through all the shopping carts and in the security area. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere, a gentleman who works, there was coming to me with my wallet someone had turned it in a very nice elderly man said he saw it in a cart and he thought it best just to turn it in because my ID was facing out he was looking for me as well. We love shopping at Costco, the prices the selection the chicken most importantly staff members are always so helpful but tonight you outdid yourself and I am so grateful. I love this Costco. It's never busy and I always get parking in front no matter what time of day. They have a great rotation of items and the staff is always super friendly. I can't say enough good things about it. My favorite thing to do is put in ear buds and walk through every aisle. Great prices, excellent selection, and friendly service. Best Costco ever. read more

In my opinion this is the worst Costco. This store is poorly managed with an assistant general manager (DEI at work) and other top managers that have no management skills. They have no dedicated person who cleans the tables or sweeps the floor in the food court and the place appears unsanitary. The location is a big flaw and it's hard to find unlike other Costco's that are located right next to the interstate highway. Looks like the St. Augustine store will still be my go to store although there is a new BJ's being built in Palm Coast and scheduled to open soon, I'll try that and see if I can keep my business local. read more

Visited Costco yesterday for a casual shopping experience only to be ruined by a very pushy AT&T phone rep. He noticed us from 50 feet away and would not stop with his pushy sales tactics. I kept telling him I was not interested, and he would not stop pushing. Very Rude! Costco should not allow these tactics on member paying customers. read more

I'm very disappointed that costco changed their muffins I got a membership not only for cheaper gas and the great deals but for the huge blueberry muffins super sad they changed their recipe. The muffins aren't as good anymore and are smaller hope they change them back to the original recipe. read more

We've been Costco members forever..back when it was Price Club and always love going and now we have one nearby in Daytona Beach. Every time we've been it's been great and today was no different except a real pleasure clothes shopping thanks to "Sam", a delightful lady. I watched as she was straightening, folding and keeping clothes in perfect order on the tables. So when I asked where one item was she first smiled and said sure, let me help you find it. And it got better as I was shopping asking for her opinion...when I wanted a top in a certain color she said...I think you may like it in one brand in that color, let's go find it. Please thank Sam her for her help, knowledge of her department and wonderful disposition. She's such an asset to Costco and so nice to see a happy, helpful, smart employee making shopping so pleasant. read more

I'm horrified to say this, but I'm downgrading to a four star. It's incredible how rude the usually pleasant Costco staff has become. The employees that have been there for quite some time are sweet as can be. However, the new hires are incredibly abrasive. For 17 years, the standard procedure of going to the food court involved walking through the exit door sometimes flashing your card is a badge of honor Proceeding to have delicious food items. My last experience I was mortified when I was leading my daughter and wife in on our usual route when two women essentially Secret Service swarmed me yelling "sir sir you can't go this way, sir sir you must go to the other entrance, sir, sir sir". I was so shocked. I just stood there assuming they were going after some sort of thief or someone who is breaking some sort of policy, however to my dismay my family and I were swarmed and essentially shamed into going in the entrance walking through the storage just to get back to our intended Location. Quite bizarre. It is unfortunate to see such things such in areputable experience driven establishment. read more

Even though I really love shopping here, I believe we were unfairly targeted when departing the store. Around 1 pm on Saturday, the exit woman took her time to review the receipt and check off each item on our receipt. We had a lot of grocery products and clothing in our cart, so we were stalled for a few minutes bc she started to pick up the food boxes to look under and through them. I have no issues with that process so long as it's applied equally to ALL customers. But it's not because I saw her briefly glance at the receipt for white customers in the line ahead of us. She did not move their items or boxes or looked under them. I felt very self conscious throughout the process. I may stick to Sam's club from now on. read more

New location and the placement is perfect. Super clean and not as busy as other Costco's.

We were very excited to have a new local Costco.Long time members from the Altamonte Springs area Store. We joined right away very happy with the Bakery and the different selection of items compared to other Warehouse stores locally. Since the snowbirds have gone the Bakery has reduced the items for sale to just a few tables with less selection. A big disappointment! The on going P & G PRODUCT sale had only Charmin soft toilet paper. No Ultra strong. The store seemed to be leaning towards their Kirkland brand rather than carrying other named brand items . The prices are higher on some items than other stores. We are just TWO and the volume of meat and vegetables are too big for Us. It is nice the store is Not Very BUSy and we can park close to the entrance. Not busy might be a clue that all is not going well.... Gas prices have been higher than our local BJ's.. We are not as happy as we expected to be... With 3 Big Box stores near Daytona there is a lot of stores to choose from.. read more

Laura, one of the mangers/customer service were so hospitable to us. When rung up we forgot half of the couch (came in two boxes) & they called us as soon as we got home before we could even realize we didn't have the full couch LOL. When we came back to pick up the second piece she so kindly covered a gas gift card because she knew we traveled a decent distance back.
