As someone who used to shop at the Red Hook Costco, I can say with certainty this Costco is a pleasant shopping experience. It's almost like they built this part of Bayonne just for Costco. Good parking lot, onsite liquor. They're usually in stock of what I need. This Costco is never too crowded to enjoy shopping. It's busy, but not uncomfortable. Most importantly, the checkout line. Self checkout is all the way to the right, but the lines are never terribly long no matter where you choose to checkout. Sometimes a Costco team member will even unload my cart for me. read more

I visit this location on a regular basis but their management with weekly crazy ideas gets on my nerves. First of all, they're always moving products around and I'm not talking about items on sale. It's difficult to find the products I buy in a regular base because each time they're in a different aisle and this gets very annoying! Recently they moved the self checkout machines to the other side of the warehouse and there's always an employee or 2 scanning stuff directly from people's carts but they hold up the line and delay everyone. 5 stars! I'm not sure why the overall rating is only 3.5 stars. If I didn't have to deal with $30 in tolls to come here from Bay Ridge Brooklyn I would come here all the time. PRO: Clean, well stocked, great prices, everyone I dealt with was very helpful. The store is laid out well, brightly lit, clean bathrooms too. One person even recommended Lowe's for something if they did not have it. Lots of samples and people that enjoyed explaining the product and giving out the samples. It was Friday afternoon and the checkout line was short. While on line Costco employees came around with be smoothie samples on a rolling cart. Lots of parking and the spots are big and the customers were nice. The Costco in Brooklyn is horrible and I will never go back there tolls or no tolls. I came here on a weekend and it was super crowded! There were plenty of spaces for parking but it was crowded and they get taken right away. The only way was to park far away, it was no problem and it was understandable. The line to checkout was crazy, so many people! Also bought its infamous $1.50 hotdog + soda as snack before doing grocery shopping to avoid impulsive purchasing The offerings are pretty similar to the other Costco's. This Costco is pretty big, and there is a large selection of products. However, I have noticed that this location stocks up on new products pretty late. My friends in New York would have new products a month before I could find them in this location. In addition, I used to love their plain cheese pizza. It would taste as if it came straight from a pizzeria. However, I noticed that it tastes different lately. The cheese would feel dry and have no elasticity for a nice cheese pull. read more

Costco Bayonne is a great store overall--well-stocked, clean, and organized, with everything you could possibly need at great prices. However, the customer service at the return station is hit or miss. Some of the reps can be downright rude and unhelpful, which makes an already tedious process even more frustrating. I purchased a bench, item # 1943221 on 07/23/2025 for 199.99. I saw it on sale on 08/06/2025 for 139.97. I took a picture of the sale price. I went to the Bayonne, NJ Costco on 08/15/2025 to request a price adjustment. The customer service person said the discount had expired and could not provide a price adjustment. Then the manager explained the discount had not expired and showed me in the system it was still discounted, but that he could not price adjust because they no longer had it in stock. He said I can go to a warehouse that still had it in stock and they will price adjust it. What terrible customer service. Costco had gone down hill. I will return the product completely and they will now have to deal with restocking it and reselling it and pissing off a person who has been a customer back before it was Price Club. read more

I have been going to this Costco since they opened and never had any complaints. They always had a good supply with great choices and great prices but when I went there yesterday, I was very disappointed because they did away with the self service Check outs I always used. Even when it was extremely crowded having the self checkouts made things move much more quickly when it was time to check out. Today they only had two lanes available to check out at, and there were not too many people at the store, but it took a long time to check out. A Costco that is new in Bayonne, opened relatively recently. They have a gas station and tire center as well as the basic food court and a lot of aisles of fruits, veggies, bakery goods and more. They also made rotisserie chicken with the last batch about 30 min before store close - lots of people lined up for that. Fairly standard Costco layout and goods, didn't find some things like duck and fish that I wanted (found at a different Costco) but perhaps it was just a stock / inventory difference. And nice new shopping carts with elevated seating for the kids. Nice touch, though now you have to lift kids higher. read more

I came in for an interview. I was 20 minutes early, however, I waited over an hour to speak with the manager for the department I applied for. There were 2 other managers that interviewed me from different departments. One from the food and the other for optical managers. The worst experience having to wait for over an hour for the interview and then you have one of the managers, who sat there on his phone and didn't bother to listen to my answers. VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL! Mind you also very condescending. I don't understand how you got your role as the manager. You should be ashamed! Due to state laws, beer, wine, and spirits cannot be purchased in-store. However, there is an adjacent liquor store associated with Costco where alcohol can be purchased, but NOT Kirkland brand items! In comparison to CA, I found items in this NJ Bayonne store that are unavailable in CA. For example, fireworks (a seasonal item) can be purchased in different sized assortment boxes. For $90, the box I purchased has 43 pieces of "best sellers" with a caveat on back stating that performance is based on origin. Additionally, whole lamb, boxes of lamb cubes, and boxes of lamb shoulder (good for stewing) are available, as well. Another surprise was that the watermelon from Georgia, kiwi, and peaches from CA were very sweet. Conversely, the Kanzi apples and blueberries from NJ were just ok. At Costco, fruit is always a hit or miss. For 43 pieces in the fireworks box, $90 is good price, but the fireworks were pretty much all the same. I would have liked more variety in their presentation and it would have been fun to have sparklers for everyone to play with. read more

Costco has finally opened in Bayonne. The aisles are clean and wide, and you don't run into the aisle blockers like you do in the local supermarkets. We loaded up on organic fruit & vegetables, the usual paper goods, and we checked out the hearing aids for my mother-in-law. She decided to order the most expensive pair but trust me, she needs them. My daughter picked up leggings and water bottles. I ordered a cake that I'll pick up next week for a big event at my job. I think I'm going to like having Costco so close, the food for our meetings will be a lot cheaper. The food at the front of the store is incredibly cheap. A hot dog & soda is 1.50, and a frozen yogurt is 1.35. You don't need a membership to order from the food window, so stop in for the world's cheapest lunch. The gas station outside is great, too. Easy in and out and the prices are cheaper than any other station in Bayonne. New, clean tanks have to be better than those ancient stations around town. FYI, Costco takes Visa or debit. They don't take Mastercard or Amex. They used to only take Amex but those days are over. read more

Recently had gone to Costco in Bayonne to do some grocery shopping. I often come to this location because its not as packed and crazy as the one closest to me. The staff did clean the carts prior to entering which was great to see. Most customers were social distancing while I was there. But the one thing that did bother me most, there were customers that either lowered their mask below their nose or it was under their chin while in the store. Understandably, the staff cannot control everyone from lowering the masks. But I think the employees need to speak to the customers about keeping masks on throughout their entire shopping trip for the safety of their employees and customers. Other than that, the store is overall well-kept and very stocked with product especially essentials. They are consistently putting product out--I was even able to find some Lysol disinfectant spray and cleaner that was placed on the sales floor while I was there. At checkout, they do a great job with line movement and had someone moving the customers to registers to avoid large lines of customers. The food court is always a stop before leaving--their pizza and hot dogs are a great treat after shopping and are super affordable. I will be back again for my next shopping trip and hopefully there is more control of wearing masks in the store. read more

The Costco Tire in Bayonne has never let me down. One word of advise, make an appt online or be a pleasant walk-in. These guys do a very good job and I watched demanding walk ins be difficult for no reason. This is the best Costco ever! I've been to about 5 locations total and I usually hate warehouse shopping, but Bayonne Costco is immaculate, the parking lot consists of zero abandoned shopping carts which is always a plus. I always see employees recovering carts and putting them back where they belong. Most Costco's are an utter disaster in my opinion. My parents have a membership and added me on for free, so it's an amazing value. I usually come here for essentials, but I find myself checking out with coffee, Tommy Bahama lounge chairs, StriVectin, prepared salads, Sugar in the Raw, 3 rotisserie chickens (don't judge). Their paper products, Kirkland brand is an excellent value. A 30 roll of toilet paper is $17 here which is more than half the price of Charmin. Paper towels, tissues, laundry detergent, Starbucks VIA, and Tommy Bahama are an excellent value and superb quality. If you don't like anything you've purchased, simply return the item within 365 days. Costco APP is really handy. The APP allows you to mobile coupon clip and is linked with your membership card making savings easier than ever. Prepared food is decent if you have a large family to feed, but it's not my thing. I did purchase the Cobb Salad which was decent. I'm not knocking stars off of it, because I really had zero expectations considering for $15 it feeds 8 and there are only 2 of us, so I just wanted something convenient. Monday-Thursday early mornings and afternoon is your best bet. Costco offers an array of food and product sampling predominantly between these hours. If you are taking a young child here, it's very well possibly to feed their tummies considering there is so much food sampling here. Their cafe area is very reasonably priced; $1.50 for all-beef hot dog and fountain drink. Don't expect a flame grilled hot dog, it's passable, by no means satisfying to me. Smoothies and frozen cafe mocha drink for $3 is my favorite. Random, but they also serve acai bowls for $4, which is great for those looking for a light refreshing snack. Costco does not provide bags, so you just bring your own. They usually have cardboard boxes available to pack your items. In addition, you must download the Costco App. Costco app has online member only deals from brands such as Burberry, StriVectin, Nioxin, Bond No.9(70% off retail), Prada, Nike, Nintendo, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Bvlgari, Fjallraven, Laura Mercier- I've been a member for 2 years and I had no idea until recently about Costco Member Deals only available online (free shipping). I order my Nioxin shampoo and conditioner 33.6 OZ bottles for $39 with free shipping on Costco.com That's half the price than retail and Costco accepts online returns, open box (check terms and conditions, it varies with electronics). read more

I joined this Costco a few months ago, and overall it's mainly been a positive experience. There are two membership choices-- a standard pay to shop option or a more enhanced option that comes with various offers and perks. I will say that I was 100% pressured into getting the upgraded membership which I'm a little annoyed about. I was promised that a $60 gift card would be sent back to me (which would basically make this a no brainer) but I've yet to receive anything. Next time I'm here I'll have to look into it. In any case - this Costco is clean and spacious. The staff is friendly, and there are always lots of samples to enjoy. If you want a snack while you shop you really can't beat the $1.50 hot dog and soda combo. You can find some great deals on groceries here too. A huge case of La Croix is $5, as is a massive carton of strawberries or tomatoes. If you don't feel like cooking they have some delicious prepared food options like marinated wings, salads and stuffed peppers. The meat and seafood is all high quality. The deals in the liquor store aren't as great as I thought they would be. Unfortunately they are not affiliated with Costco (damn Jersey) so you can't find any of those Kirkland brand steals and deals. Instead, pricing is pretty on par with any other liquor store in the area. They do carry those boozy ice pops though. Those are definitely on my radar for summer. I live in a household of two, so Costco certainly isn't where I'd go for the every day shop. But, when entertaining guests or buying things I do enjoy in quantity it's a really solid deal. And all within a ten minute drive of downtown Jersey City. I'll take it. read more

Went on first opening weekend to sign up for membership. It was chaos but they tried their best to keep it organized. Required a lot of patience and understanding. Good thing it was a nice warm Saturday and people just tried their best. We went in to look at the products, get familiar with the layout but did not buy anything. Lines for checkout and food were long. We went to shop the weekend after. It was less chaotic and people. We were able to find parking close to the entrance. The place still had that fresh, clean new feeling. The products were still neat and organized. We know eventually it will just be a normal, typical warehouse. We got normal necessities and a roasted chicken. We liked their bread and fresh vegetables area. Wish they had better selection and area for dental and hair products. Poor customer service. Throughout the store, they repeatedly ask you for your card and invade your personal space during self-check. If I needed assistance from an associate, I wouldn't be in the self-checkout. The previous few times I went shopping here, I felt uncomfortable due to their customer service. Recently I was ill, I sent my eighteenth year daughter to pick up a few things, but she was treated rudely and was not allowed to utilize my membership. They are rude and this new policy will make them lose valuable customers. All this money I spent with this company and they treat people like absolute garbage and dollar signs. The Bayonne Costco is a great store. Lots of parking. Food court is nice, clean, and reasonably priced. Cant beat the $1.50 hot dog and drink combo. Or the $1.99 slice of pizza. As for shopping, you do need a membership to enter and make purchases, but it is only $60 a year. Well worth this price, for all the great deals you will get here. Since this location just opened up in March 2019, everything is still super clean, organized, and well maintained. This store is big. Plenty of aisle space to push your cart around without bumping into others. Plus on weekends, they have lots of free samples they give out. As long as your looking to buy in bulk, this is the place you want to shop at for your household items. Especially for their meats, bacon items, drinks, and cakes! read more

Oct 2022, Review of the TIRE CENTER in Bayonne, NJ. The guys who work in this department were wonderful. Especially, Darwin who placed my tire order, he was very friendly and helpful. Also, Izzy and George who works in installation were very helpful. I drove all the way from Westchester, NY to purchase the Michelin Cross Climate2 tires since all other COSTCO Warehouses were out of stock. So I rushed down from Westchester to NJ since COSTCO does not allow their employees to hold tires on the side. This Costco is amazing. The staff is friendly, and pre-CoVid--was my favorite place to hit up all the different food sample stations! They used to have at least 6-8 stations even during weekdays. The store layout is ok, it is just such a big store that I hate forgetting something and walking back a mile to find it. During quarantine, they've been well stocked, and have put some limits on some essentials. Love the quality of their store brand products, and the sales. I'm reviewing the Costco at the Bayonne location. This was our first time going there since we always shop at the Clifton one. I don't know what type of people shop in this place that have the staff working as if everyone is up to no good. They are definitely not helpful nor do they have inviting attitudes. We went to renovate our Gold Status membership and the staff was more interested in us showing them our card than answering where the register was to renovate. While waiting in line FOREVER, we noticed how the check-out lady was meticulously checking every single item the customers had, making the line endless. She was also giving the biggest attitude towards people that had one or two items and were desperate to leave. She told them they HAD to wait for her to check everyone one even though they only had a few items to which she could've just checked them out on the spot. I felt as though I was shopping at a Chanel store and every move was being monitored with unpleasant staff. I will not go back to this location. Do not attend this location if you need to sign up for the Costco membership card!! We entered the Bayonne Costco store with the intention to sign up for the lowest level Costco membership card on the 12th of April, 2019. The only tasks that were left to complete were, my shopping list and heading home. I assumed it would be an easy and quick process. Unfortunately, the membership-sign-up-crew had other plans. I was immediately assisted by (Kathy), not the nicest person to deal with at the membership desk. She started the attempt to sell me on a Costco credit card(that I did not need), I let her talk for a few moments since it was impossible to get a word in, and kindly declined the offer. Instead of completing the sign-up transaction she rudely walked away stating the phrase "I'm DONE here", out loud while we sat there and watched her throw a mini-fit over our refusal to sign up for the unnecessary credit line. After Kathy abruptly walked away from us, I guess fed up with our stern "no's" on a new credit card that we would never use, she left another male to assist us. Unfortunately, she did not explain to this man that we did not want to sign up for the credit line at Costco. So he proceeded to do the same exact thing to sell us the credit card. After being harassed for a credit line for another 15 minutes, we declined for the last time and I went as far as stating that I thought it was made clear with the last women that rudely walked away. I thought it was over but even after taking my picture, another person behind the desk repeated "Are you sure you don't want the credit card, you won't get any of the deals" I repeated myself for the 3rd time, and said "no". I'm not sure what kind of commission these people obtain from signing up new members, for a card they don't necessarily need...but maybe the base pay should be slightly higher to avoid any further desperate and unprofessional pleas for money. read more

Just moved to the area right behind this location. We shop here a couple of times a week! Each time we are amazed how great their customer survive is. Today we were checking out and one of the items did not have a tag so they couldn't scan it. We were going to just leave the item behind. Out of nowhere we heard Luther (I asked for his name later on) asking someone on a walkie talkie to get this item for us from the back. He went back for it and got back in no time. It was past closing time but they took care of every single customer and every single item! Great job Costco Team! read more
