My two rear tires were at the point where they needed to be replaced, so I decided to have them done while I was up here. I purchased the tires online, they offer a military / veterans discount, and they were the exact same price as if I would have bought them in sacramento, with one *BIG* exception. It' s Oregon, so no sales tax! I made an appointment online to have the tires changed here. I come in at my appointment time, and I am met by Will. Very friendly, very personable, very thorough, the same great service that I love getting from America's / discount tire. Will checks my ID, goes out to get the information that he needs from my car, and comes back. He tells me that my car will be ready in 45 minutes to an hour. Guess what? Only a little more than a half hour later, my car is sitting at the front door, ready to go. Will and I finalize all the paperwork, and my road trip continues. He said that's unsafe and could also affect my gas mileage etc. At the time I had called in I was pretty focused JUST on getting the tires and driving to California. But after a month my gas mileage is SO much better. Which means I'm saving at the pump. The ride is SO quiet. So good. I didn't expect this huge expense, but I don't go cheap on tires and I always research on Tire Rack first but MAN I was impressed by the service and knowledge at Discount Tire at this location. Since I've never in my life received a rebate I've applied for, I'm of the mind that it's standard operating procedure to never send them out unless someone follows up, in much the same way that some insurance companies deny all claims, initially. I think, if you should find yourself in the same position here or elsewhere, it's important to talk it out. I'm so glad that I did. When I first felt offended, I planned on giving an angry one or two star review, which wouldn't have been fair considering the otherwise great service and considering how nice Kat and the other folks at Crabtree reallt On to the car side of things: they thoroughly checked my car and quickly fixed the main issue. They also found other issues that needed to be addressed and got those fixed at a reasonable price (I did find ~$130 a bit steep for installing a Prius 12V battery but then again I didn't want to do it despite having the ability, so I'll consider it fair). They found an issue that I couldn't afford to fix just yet but they did explain it to me and let me know how I could prevent it from becoming an even bigger problem -- and better yet, they didn't try to pressure me into spending money I don't have to fix it. All in all, it was a great experience at Crabtree and I will definitely take my car here again.

Yes, I came in with only a couple of items that needed to be repaired, but left with having other items worked on. Once they have done a diagnostic check on your vehicle they give you the awareness of the different things that need to be serviced. No, this is not a scare tactic, because you decide to repair the items or not. They will have pictures to show you what the current condition is like my brakes, they were not making any noise, but they were at a critical state that left unrepaired and waited until it was making screeching noise I was in for more expensive repair. I like the fact they give me the option on to fix or wait until I'm ready. There approach is not a hard sell, I like Kat approach to the repairs. One one of my cars, they heard a rattling noise in the heater box area and it turned out where I was living in middle desert in so ca, I had left my car parked in the open for 5 months and a mouse / rat decided to make my heater box it's new home. I had them fix the issue and it also explained why I was having sinus issues whey driving the car for extended periods of time. I appreciate they found the issue and I gave them the go head to fix it.
