This is a nice, clean, organized store. Value at Costco is always superb. If we're in the area again, we'll shop here again.

With your fuel price subsidized by membership fees, Costco is usually the cheapest gas around and today was no different. There are lots of options for fuel in Saint Louis and why should I pay more? Easy to line up here with plenty of pumps. Costco is all about getting people in and out quickly, so there isn't a restroom at the gas pump area and they don't have squeegees here. Scan your membership card, scan your payment and start fueling. What most folks don't understand is that you can line up on either side unless you have a really tall vehicle. Our go to Costco location. Always enjoy our trip to Costco, but the store is getting more and more crowded every time I go and unfortunately rarely have the opportunity to go during the Executive Member hours. Going to have to try to make a point to at least get there on the weekends for the hours. Also, ran out of rotisserie chickens before I had a chance to snag one. read more

I wish I could give 2 1/2 stars..... I cringe at the thought of having to speak with workers here. The checkout workers are insanely rude and overtly rushing you constantly. If you're new, they don't help much, but they will treat you like you're incompetent. Floor workers are pretty kind, but I've had a solid 4 bad interactions with checkout now. One woman was trying to help me and I misunderstood what she was saying. She was mumbling and just tossing my items around and scanning them. I'm particular with where I put things, so I can keep order, and she's just tossing things around. Then she got annoyed with me asking what she was doing and I explained to her I had never had it happen before. I started taking the items out to set them aside and she started griping about me doing that. Admittedly I gave her a bit of a look and she went on her way. I thanked her and told her I had it from there. This is nothing new and seems to be a pretty consistent experience there. Other shoppers are incredibly inconsiderate too, but this isn't about them. The selection is nice. I wish there were more familiar brands but honestly Kirkland makes really quality stuff. Value is great, but there are some things that just aren't worth it. Some items you would be better off going somewhere else. The meat department is by far the shining star in my opinion. I DO NOT like how difficult it is to shop online and look for items in store. It would honestly be more simple to just get paper ads in the mail. All in all I do like Costco but I'll probably let membership expire and stick with Sam's club. That, or I'll drive a little further north. I can say I wouldn't wholeheartedly recommended this particular Costco. read more

Came for a visit because we were searching for an item that their website said was available. Just like any costco, it's huge with great buys. This costco while busy, the lines seems more tamed. We've been here before to buy items but nothing this go around. We will return because they service at&t for phones and our location has tmobile. read more

Kudos to Costco today. It was so busy, like a holiday and extremely busy. I think everybody was off work and thought they'd be here when it would open. They got people through the door quickly right when it opened and when it was time for me to check out, it looked like they had every line open, and the lines moved very quickly. I usually do self serve, but there was a full service line open with nobody waiting, so I just walked right up to that And got right out of the store. read more

Shout out to Costco today. It was super busy, and I was buying the very last piece of patio furniture (rosin rocking chair) they had. There was no way I could handle it myself. Another customer tried to help, and then 2 other customers tried to load it for me. When that failed, I found someone in a red vest (I wish I could remember his name he was so helpful). He tagged it for me; I finished my shopping, and checked out. Donna at checkout actually pushed my second cart with the big box in it to the checkout, told them I needed curb assistance and found someone for me to load it. Not only were the staff helpful and kind, so were the customers! I find the Kirkland brand good quality for the value on many items. The pharmacy staff is super nice also. The Rusty Road location, I believe, is friendlier than the rest. read more

This place is insanely busy. Make sure to bring your own bags or you can also use boxes that they have left over from products they have used loaded. We were told today at the checkout that only the person with the membership card can make the purchases. They have kiosks at the cafe area if you want to order food there. Costco is a great grocery store, but not for everyone. SERVICE: The service has always been great. There are several employees around the store ready to help. There are also employees who scan your groceries, which is pretty nice! There are also employees who check your receipt on the way out, and a membership card on the way in. SELECTION: The selection at Costco is pretty OK. When shopping at Costco, try not to look for a specific brand, but an idea of what type of product you're looking for. If you're shopping for milk, for example, don't look for a specific brand; you probably won't find any other than Kirkland Signature (a private label brand run by Costco). It will probably also be in a three-pack, too. VALUE: If you are looking for value, be weary. You will probably only get a good deal of you really use a lot of a product as they come in huge sizes. I found that if I shop for a product I don't use often at Costco, it either never finishes and becomes a dust-collector in the pantry or expires. There is also a membership fee, which can be expensive if you do not get your money worth ($60-$120 yearly). SUMMARY: Costco can work for you and your family, but it definitely isn't for everyone. This review is for delivery of a large item from Costco's website and not the physical store location (which is great.) I ordered a thousand dollar generator for my home on Costco's website. We were never told when the item would arrive and the third party carrier R and L Carriers dropped the 300 pound item off, not in our driveway as Costco allegedly instructed, but on the city sidewalk in front of our home. With no one home able to move the item, it sat there. My wife spoke to Costco customer service who referred her to the shipper who referred her to Costco and so on and so forth. No one to take accountability for this brazen and outrageous customer service failure. The shipper was the worst...driver lied and stated that he dropped it off on our "porch"...which would have been fine except for the fact that we don't have a porch. Clearly R and L Carriers hires felons and doesn't drug test their employees, so duly noted. But anyhow, if you can't pick an item up for yourself physically and haul it yourself DO NOT order anything over 100 pounds from these clowns. Try Home Depot or Lowes instead. read more

Went shopping here the other day and paid for my items like I normally would, I didn't do self checkout. I noticed I was charged for an extra gold peak tea. I went to customer service and was told I needed to pay for my other tea. I looked at the receipt and said it's on there. I went to give my lady the receipt at the door and heard the manager yelling for her to not give me my receipt when I look at huge 300lb+ man is running at me and my kids and grabbed my cart wouldn't let go and said pay for your items. I said it's on the receipt he was looking at the bottom of the cart, I didn't scan my items. Completely rude and embarrassing! I said it's on my receipt and pointed to the item. He looked dumbfounded! I said next time don't fucking accuse anyone of stealing and chase them down at the door. Totally could have been handled a different way by Costco. Thing is I had 8 items in my cart and 8 items on the receipt so unless the manager can't count ... maybe they need other jobs! Customer service has always lacked at Costco. Costco has everything, they just don't have everything all the time. It's a wholesale club, so all items are not available at all times. They offer items at the best prices, so availability changes. Deal with it and adjust your shopping to save big dollars at check-out. My favorite areas are meats, frozen foods, cleaning supplies, toiletries and canned goods. Meats are amazingly high quality. I can package them with my FoodSaver and save big $'s. I also can save on future meals with selected frozen food and canned goods. I like the frozen salmon and some beef patties. They both make it easy for work lunches and quick dinners. Their canned goods are priced better then shopping at a grocery store with double coupons. You can't find better deals on cleaning supplies and toiletries then Costco. For a single person, they'll last forever, or you can share your super savings with your BFF. That way you'll both be clean and be living in a super clean house. Another area to always check out while shopping, is the clothes. You'll be surprise at what you'll find. I am amazed at the designers that are periodically available and the prices shock me. You may not be dressed to the 9's, but you'll feel like you are with the savings. I reside in a two-person household, and indeed, I frequent Costco. The reason being, I have a family of dogs, and the prices for premium dog food are reasonable. Additionally, I purchase my supplements from Costco for the same reason - it's a reputable brand, and the prices are affordable. Occasionally, if guacamole dip or a bag of beef jerky is on sale, I might consider adding it to my cart. The staff at the South County location is consistently friendly. Despite the constant bustle whenever I visit, I navigate through it, and the excellent service remains uninterrupted. I like Costco, they have everything and in bulk. I started out only really coming here to buy bulk drink items (gatorade zero, la croix sparkling water, and coke zero for the most part) and paper goods but now we found their dry dog food to actually be quite good as far as nutritional content for our baby so we buy that in bulk here as well. Other than that, they have meats, frozen items, meds, muffins as big as my face, cakes, snacks, eyewear, electronic, and they are always at least a season ahead of the calendar as far as the decorations go. The service is always consistent. Happy people rushing around trying to get you out and back to your life as efficiently as possible. They have the sample people as well. It's a bit of a hit and miss. Some are pushy while others just stand there until you inquire about the product they are trying to sell you by offering you a sample/taste of it. If you've been to one Costco, you've been to all. This one is no different than the others except maybe the food court area is a bit smaller but it's also been years since I've visited a Costco outside of this location. My membership is about to expire but I'll happily renew it since service and savings have been equally fantastic! read more

Been sleeping on living room floor for last 24 days. Bought a bedroom set from Costco in late August. They delivered on August 31 but no mattress? No room for old mattress in bedroom so I'm sleeping on living room floor. Why would they deliver bedroom set without mattress? I could have waited until the order was complete. I went to the Costco pharmacy I can't go on enough about the professionalism and expertise from the staff behind the counter. This was a pharmacy that provided a safe feeling. The pharmacist Tim was able to provide some great knowledge over the drug he was dispensing and had a great friendly attitude when giving me a shot (I didn't even know he had poked me with the needle and it was over). The staff was very helpful in working through the insurance information I had to fill out; they explained the sections that needed my information and the information to skip. The Costco was also clean in the pharmacy area and around the store which is always a plus. I will be a returning customer to this Costco location. read more

I use to have a membership at this location but moved away 9 years ago. I just moved back at the beginning of the year and have made the journey from the Illinois side just to go here. This is my go for almost everything from TV's, kitchen sinks, backyard stuff to groceries. The place tends to get quite busy during peak times but the lines always move fast. Great store location, always super clean, wonderful staff and tons of options. The place is so organized and it makes it so easy to find anything you are looking for. Highly recommended. read more

After years on #TeamSams, I converted to #TeamCostco and haven't looked back. The quality of the merchandise, especially the fresh meat and produce, is a cut above Sam's. And if you're on a specialty diet or need organic XYZ, Costco is a much better bet than Sam's. Not to mention, customer service here is top notch, including a ridiculously generous return policy. Costco truly puts customers first. My only regret with COST is not buying the stock when it fell to $150, in the wake of Amazon's Whole Foods acquisition. Foolish me! Especially when we went Paleo, it is a great resource. Favorite areas: Paper products- TP, paper towels, napkins, tissues-- all at a great price! Produce- high quality, lots of organic options Samples- I mean, who doesn't love samples? It's a great way to get my kids to try new things. I also appreciate that they don't give samples to kids without parents there, since my kid does have food allergies. Clothes- there is often something for everyone here Books- kids books, cookbooks Meats- high quality. Love their organic ground beef. seasoned bulgogi. Salmon. Crab. Canned foods/nonperishables- favorites include wild planet tuna, almond flour, avocado oil, avocado oil mayo, nuts, granola bars, applesauce packets Okay I'll stop. Today I signed up for my very first membership online and proceeded to Costco on Rusty Road. I wanted to get 2 cards one for my daughter and one for myself. We waited in line and were delighted to see the service counter clerk Deanna being so friendly and nice to the customer in front of us. When it was our turn to be served we stepped to the counter Deanna's demeanor changed drastically. Her smile was gone and her voice brash and almost angry. I looked at my daughter to see if she felt the same way. I proceeded to let Deanna know I purchased my membership online and that I just need to obtained cards for my daughter and myself. Deanna snapped "I need your ID". I handed Deanna my ID as well as my daughters ID. She snapped "you both need to live in the same household to get a second card." I apologized and informed Deanna I did not see that when I signed up. Deanna then put my ID as well As my daughters ID on the counter and told us we could not get the cards. I explained I still want to get a card for myself, and went to hand her back my ID. She snapped again stating " I already have your information. Deanna then shoved my ID across the counter towards me. I was still shocked as to how this was the very same person who was smiling and laughing with the person before we approached the counter. Deanna then started to walk away and then turned back and in a loud voice almost a yell " follow me". I followed her to a place to take a photo where she again was very course and brash in telling me where to stand. She walked away back to the front of the counter without any words to me. I followed her back to the front counter where she placed the card on the counter with a loud snap. Deanna did not say thank you for my purchase. Deanna did not welcome me to Costco. Deanna then shoved some brochure at me. Deanna then greeted the couple behind me with such joy in her body language and tone of voice. I walked away feeling almost less than human. I then proceeded to find a manager and cancel the very membership I just purchased. I will never set foot in Costco again if this is they crude way they treat citizens of color.
