On the day I was out and about in Costorphine, it seemed to be awash with great little businesses…read more This one was no exception - Caffe Citro, situated at the top of Station Road. It's run by a couple of ladies, both of whom had a very cheery disposition, and gave me a warm welcome. I bought myself a bottle of water and sat down to enjoy the relaxed ambience. The cafe had a very fresh feeling, with a few tables and chairs, some window seats, and a smattering of sofas. There was a wide range of hot and cold food, cakes, desserts and even Mackies ice cream on offer. Whilst I didn't sit outside in said outdoor seating (it was raining), I can see that it would be a pleasant place to have a seat outside. This place is a real find. Make sure to pay them a visit if you're in the area - you won't be disappointed!

Paninnis, baguettes, cakes, coffees, smoothies, pastries, this one ticks every box! As the title…read moresuggests, Caffe Citro specialises in fresh juices and smoothies and has an entire chill dedicated to these bottled ice teas, smoothies and lemonades. Caffe Citro provides outdoor seating, which was delightful on a day like today when the sun was blazing and, though parched, I wanted to remain outside! The coffee is good as well, but what I love about this place is that it sells Mackie's ice cream! Next to Ben and Jerry's, definitely my favourite! I find that the staff are always friendly in here and the decor is bright and fun, so Caffe Citro is always on my list when looking for a fresh bite and drink around Corstorphine!

I can't take the credit for this find - its all down to my friend, Elaine, but I will recommend it…read moreto everyone and anyone I speak to :) I've been here twice now, both times as a treat and it was spectacular. I had worried that I'd built it up in my head and my visit was actually going to be a disappointment. I was wrong! The tea room itself is very small, only 5 or so tables are in it, but it doesnt have a cramped feeling about it at all. Elaine knows the owner from being a regular visitor, but I was instantly welcomed and made to feel at home (she even remebered me from the last visit we had). We ordered then used the time to feed Evie (Elaine's 9 month old daughter) and catch up. All sandwiches are made fresh and there wasn't really a big wait for our afternoon tea to arrive. The cake stand was filled - it was a wonderful sight! Sandwiches, scones, macarons, miniature cupcakes, a chocolate teapot, handmade edible cups and swans. We'd ordered tea, and every teapot comes with its own hand knitted tea cosy on it - ours this time was bee themed. Lynn (the owner) had went out of her way to make our stand 'special' for us as she knew we'd had one previously. We got a top up of tea half way though which was no bother at all. Cake is also included with the tea. There's a selection on home made cakes displayed near the till. We were so full from all the goodies that we got them to take away. I choose the red velvet cheesecake and took it back to Glasgow to share with the hubby - his response was that it was 'decent'. High praise from him :) All in, we spent 90ish mins at Bon and felt right at home, there was no rushing us out the door. Lynn popped passed every so often to chat and see if we needed anything else. I would give this place 6 stars if I could - I love it to bits. I always say to people we need to go to Edinburgh just for this place, I really need to start doing it. It's fabulous.

I couldn't believe Blueberry Hill wasn't on Yelp. Maybe its because it caters for a breakfast/lunch…read morecrowd, but I love this little local gem and its an escape when working from home :-) Its small (about 5 tables that seat between 2 and 4 at each) but very popular with locals of all ages and can fill up very quickly as people pile in. Does the usual cafe food: sandwiches (my fav is chicken, chorizo & lime pickle on brown gf bread but my mum swears by the roast beef which is cooked in-house) as well as soups and baked potatoes. Specials change constantly and today included chowder, baked trout and quorn chilli. Cakes are homemade and cover everything from tray bakes to cheesecake. This place is a gem - cheap but excellent fresh food - 4 stars, but only because I've not had cake yet...

When I arrived around two I very quickly realized I wasn't the only one with the idea for a pop in, as all of the tables were full and there was a wee line in an already wee place! What I noticed while I stood in line pondering what to get was the extremely reasonable prices. Around two pounds for a baked tattie with some fixings? Less for sandwiches? Awesome! If there had been a place to sit I may well have gotten real food, but as it was I got a small latte and a piece of millionaire's shortbread, all for the extremely reasonable price of between two and three pounds. Not bad considering how much one drink from S-bucks is! The staff was very friendly despite being eyeballed hungrily by the line of folk waiting to be served, and when I tried both my treats after leaving I was pleased as punch. Both were perfectly lovely! Have already mentioned this place to the other half and will definitely be back to scope out the noms!

After a few hours of shopping, and trying on too many things that don't fit or make you look fat, its just perfect to get a nice latte and relax! For some reason, you queue from the back and collect your drink at the front. This initially confused me as I was wondering why people were congregating near the back of the shop. Once I ordered, I only had to wait a few minutes for my drink to whizz across the bar to the end table. I had a Pumpkin Spice frappuccino (or PSF) and it was my first ever Pumpkin Spice drink and it was amazing! I will be having another one for sure! The actual store is very bright and modern with new furniture and lots of soft seats. It is very long and thin and gets very busy, so be warned. There is also additional seating out in the mall but I feel it isn't really enough for how many people use the store. There are toilets at the back of the store which are pretty clean, especially by Starbucks standards. I like this store and I think I will be using it instead of the M&S Cafe from now on as the cafe in M&S is always busy but there were a few free seats in here today.
