Who the, what the, how the... they really can get everything here. Their bird cages are equal if not better quality than the petstore or kmart ones, they aren't as expensive and they are way way way bigger in size. If you're after that sort of thing. They also have some really nice dog carry crates, both hard and soft. I've never seen them there before. And on the internet the exact same soft crate was in the $70 range where the one here was in the $40 range. Shop here and you'll save some big money on big ticket items, I think they're expanding their product range (if they can) into the bigger ticket items so not everything costs $2 anymore. It's nice to see a well-organised bargain shop as well, when I walk in, I know I'll be treated with a smile and know exactly where to find what i'm looking for.

So I do not worry about going overboard with my purchases here, because I could hardly ring up a $50 purchase at checkout. When you walk through the door you will find all the kitchen homewares on the left, pet or laundry stuff towards the back, toys to the far right and craft & art to the left of the store. This Overflow has many things I need when it comes to casual parties, all disposable stuff of course! Reusable or disposable table clothes, plates, cups and cutlery. It's great, I hardly spend over $20. Service is pretty crappy here, the staff don't really care much for it's customers as I've never seen one help someone out. When I've had a question, it's answered by the staff in the shortest sentence possible and without directing me in the right direction. But then again, if I were a staff member here, surrounded by items with really low value, I'd start to feel pretty low value myself. Maybe that's it. They don't like their job. I don't care too much though, because it's not like I come here for their customer service. I'm in, then out.

You might want to spend some time on the ugly ducklings and the underdogs because you might surprise yourself- in a good way. Darra is known for its Asian grocery stores, authentic Viet/Chinese restaurants, but this fresh food market in Darra has got to be one of the best here. It may look a bit run down from the outset, but definitely not compromised in terms of stock. The fruit are all good quality but they are not the most good looking. Some are oddly shaped, mismatched and with slight grazes, but still very tasty. In fact, there was a fruit picker who once told me that, big super market chains prefer to pick really traditionally good looking fruit, but it may not necessarily product the best taste. Whereas, small grocers like this are happy to sell on the odd looking ones with good rich flavour at a fraction of the cost. I would urge you all to give these little guys a chance, it's worth it. K & K Fresh Food Market don't just sell fresh fruit and veg produce, they also have an extensive range of Asian canned and packet goods inside the store. You will find a massive range in noodles from thin rice noodles to thick egg noodles, a variety of rice and packeted frozen meats. There is plenty of Asian cooking oil, sauces, seasonings, spices and more to be found here at considerably low prices to that in Woolies or Coles. If you are planning on making an Asian dish, I would highly recommend going to this ethnic grocer, K & K's, as opposed to a bit chain supermarket, so you can get the most authentic flavours at a fraction of the cost. I would also like to add, that this place is quite busy on weekends particularly on a Sunday where there is often a rush of people after mass investing in their weekly household goods.

They have recently just opened a store in Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre, and although the shirts are cheaper than the average man shop, the quality isn't too bad either. It lies somewhere between Cotton On and Just Jeans, which in my books, isn't too bad at all, seeing that men will do the same thing to a $100 shirt they do to a $15. So why break the bank right? I got Christmas presents for my brother and my husband here, when I was walking around thinking what the ... should I get them this time. So if you're doing some shirt shopping, try them out, they also have a range of formal wear, hats belts and other accessories as well. They have a huge range to suit just about everyone. They are located in Sumner Park with loads of parking space and I have always walked out with something. It's not in the most glamorous of places but it is more than it appears... just. They stock brands of shoes that you might not have heard of or may not be stocked in many retail shoe shops like planet earth shoes, Simona Ricci, Catwalk... I'd never heard of these brands either... except maybe in other outlet shops. The good thing is that these shoes are quality. They aren't just made up crappy brands... the planet earth shoes are very hardy, last a long time and don't cost you a million dollars! The prices are right here in this little outlet shop, the range is okay too, with many different shoes and shoe types to choose from including boots. Stick to what you know and like and you can't go wrong, definetely try them on before buying even if you know your size. Make sure though that you check the shoe because a friend of mine got all excited and bought a pair of boots only to realise the tags were sewn on backwards, the heel's glue was exposed and several threads were actually cut off or missing... so although you can get some cheap buys here, just make sure everything works, fits and doesn't fall off.

I was surprised to find some good steel framed chairs for kids. They were really cheap too, with disney characters on them. I had been looking for these ones for a while, not the cheap plastic ones with legs that bend, these are good steel hardy ones. Saves me a trip to IKEA to tell you the truth and i'm thankful for that. What you will also find here are your usual bargain shop nonsense, but they do have a pretty good range of wall stickers and doorway hanger uppers as well as party accessories that don't suck. Truly. I bought a lot of party stuff for my daughter's first here. The staff know where everything is in the chaos that is their store, and are pretty friendly too. I'd definetely come here for cheap batteries or specific knick knacks I need through the year.

The have a huge variety of fruit and what Woolies doesn't have, they're more likely to have it. The produce are so fresh and for the sizes all are great value for money. All the fruit and vegetables are immaculately presented you almost don't want to take something away to ruin its presentation. The family who run this fresh produce shop are very friendly and always willing to lend a helpful hand in fruit and veg picking.

As I happened to be in Stacks right in the middle of silly season (shopping for cheap tinsel, baubles and other bits and bobs for our Christmas Day celebrations), I was delighted to find a pack of 8 handmade Xmas cards for $2 (for that price you'd expect them to look like they were made by a 2 year old at kindy, but they were surprisingly tasteful). I did stop and ponder whether I should purchase the plastic microphone (with echo function) on it, until I got distracted by an enormous, feathered mask - v. Vegas showgirl. And only five dollars! Plus there's toys, happy birthday banners, stationery, iphone covers, toothpaste, and homewares. Think Crazy Clark's but smaller. And I can see why they call it Stacks - there's so many bargains crammed in there, I almost got a headrush.

Since I visited in the lead up to Christmas, a good chunk of the store was overflowing with tinsel, decorations and other normal items made garishly Christmassy through the use of too much red and green. The shop was absolutely packed full of stuff. The front half filled with Christmas related things while the back half retained some degree of normalcy, by this store's standards at least. I'm not sure it's exactly normal to find such an array of items anywhere; dress-up costumes side by side with hats, both silly and otherwise, stationary, photo frames and a million other things. Definitely a variety store. I would choose this place over its chain counterparts any day, not only did there appear to be a lot more stuff, but I found the vibe to be cheerful and the customer service was great.

Brendale Stationery supplies saved my weekend! We dropped in at around 10:00am on Saturday after a tip off from a friend re their low prices. The lovely bloke at the counter took my list and said 'see you in an hour' - hallelujah! We went clothes shopping and had a coffee instead - woot woot! We returned to the store an hour later and as promised the staff had piled all our school items into a box awaiting our collection. It was only then it dawned on me - CONTACT...!!! Arrrgghh, another daunting tasks, struggling with sticky, crinkly plastic for hours and hours... a lovely way to spend your Saturday evening right... As I halfheartedly requested a few rolls of contact be added to my order the wonderful clerk announced that if I preferred I could purchase book covers - Book Covers! Where have you been all my life! No contact!! Quite possibly the greatest day in my year so far... Needless to say my little cherub trotted off to school today with her school gear after a wonderful, stress-free weekend.

As my wife and I are both young I feel as though we weren't taken seriously as potential customers for the store. After approaching the registers advising them we wished to purchase the $700+ furniture suite the first thing we were asked was "so I assume you'll be wanting to put it on a payment plan?"... Offended I said no i'd like to pay for it now, and again I was asked "like a deposit? $50? $100?" "No thanks i'll pay the total in cash today". Every other visit we've had staff members walk past us in the store only to go up to someone (older) who had just entered the store to ask them if they need assistance.

My favourite aspect is that it has a terrific children's book section - Olivia the Pig, Angelina Ballerina, and some absolutely incredible pop-up books are among the selection usually available. They also have a great range of Eeni Meeni Mini Mo clothing. Candles, homewares, Christmas decorations, ornate chess boards, beautiful vases, gorgeous cushions and throws - you never know what you will find but you can guarantee it will be a treasure. My latest purchase was a porcelain Christmas gift tag with a beautifully simple quote engraved on it. New Farm Editions also support local artists and writers - lots of homegrown gifts available. Not only is it teeming with beautiful gifts, but it's also a bookstore and has a wonderful range of beauty products, home wares, and small furniture. I can be found pottering around the shelves of New Farm Editions almost weekly, browsing through the amazing cook books and coffee table book, sniffing away at the Tokyo Milk candles and making excuses about why I should buy myself a Union Jack chest of draws. It recently saved my hide when I was completely at a loss for a birthday present for a male friend. Luckily New Farm Editions came to my rescue with their range of leather wallets and bags for blokes. The shop attendants appear to be a bit prudish, but understandable considering the amount of delicate items held in store. I have no doubt that there would be a few breakages weekly as the store is filled to the brim with pretty stock. For wedding presents, birthday gifts or even a cheeky present to yourself, New Farm Editions has beautiful items and stock is turned over frequently. It's also just a nice place to browse.

Once I got over the bargain bin I was also pretty enchanted with the rest of their stock. Everything is colourful and beautifully arranged, and even full priced merchandise is still within my budget (mostly). The staff are lovely, very friendly and insisted on wrapping each glass individually (even though they are so thick I think they'd bounce if dropped).

I would definitely have to consider buying some birds as well, as there are so many birdcages hanging from the ceiling, you wouldn't be confused into thinking you had stumbled into an aviary. The space is filled with lots of goodies which are just asking to be picked up and inspected, especially the rows of lemongrass and orange and ginger scented candles. There's also a quaint selection of tea pots and cups, surrounded by stemless wine glasses and multi-coloured crockery. The staff are super friendly, and are constantly engaged in conversations with customers throughout the store.
