It's pretty hidden in the alley and not going to lie...coming to a new city, let alone a new country by myself was a bit intimidating, but I found it just in time for my reservation. I absolutely loved my first Michelin Star restaurant experience. I was born in Belfast, and have never been back since I was born, so I enjoyed every opportunity to tell a server. The staff was so friendly and described every dish. I ordered the Seasonal Tasting MenuEach dish was excellent. My favorite was probably the duck and the savory mousse pastries. Food in order of serving: 1. Sourdough Guinness bread with vanilla butter and olive oil 2. Olive sponge crab and apple, chicken and caramel with some type of mousse 3. Scallops, cucumber frothy brown butter 4. Bluefin tuna tartare with avocado and heirloom tomato 5. Halibut with crispy chicken skin 6. Duck 7. Sorbet and then....my phone died before I could write down the other yummy dishes I ate! The ambience was dark, romantic, and vibey. A little mysterious because of the hidden aspect, but overall I loved my whole experience here.

The space itself has a very long and interesting history, just over 40 seats have been cramped into that space. A couple tables have small glass walls to separate them and squeeze in more diners. And it's pretty loud. So loud, I can barely hear the sommelier describe her wines. There may have been music playing... but who can hear? There seems to be an attempt to elevate the bartender over the sommelier, with the menu encouraging the guests to try specialty cocktails instead of selecting whole bottles of wine. And the bartender's constant ice shaker only adds to the noise. The service is very relaxed, with servers in t-shirts and jeans, sneakers, paper napkins. And the servers seemed a bit inattentive, watching the chefs through the pass, not paying attention to guests' needs. Oh, and the server even wrote "thank you" on the printed bill... How kind. Excellent Flair. Pure Chotchkie's. For the food, I'll return. 2025 04 16. M1. 235.

This review…read moreis for Cabaret Super Club who were incidentally celebrating their 13th Birthday last night. As part of these birthday celebrations they gave an audience of 100 people plus a taster of what Cabaret was all about. The evening started with a crooner who was built in the mould of the original rat pack, he took on some Sinatra classics as well as some other classic sing alongs. The evening was hosted by the unbelievably entertaining Robert who sang all the classics and engaged with the audience in hilarious fashion (sitting in the front row I was inevitably on the end of some of his quips). Between Robert's songs there were talented burlesque dancers who wouldn't have been out of place in the Moulin Rouge. The club itself is deceptively roomy and the acoustics are perfect for these type of shows. There's not many other places in Belfast that couple eating and entertainment so if you haven't been down to the super club then I would suggest booking yourself in - you are guaranteed great entertainment and value for money.

I've been to the venue before a few times for the general show and for some tribute acts. We were greeted at the door with a glass of bubbly, which lets face it kicks any night off to a good start! Seating wasn't assigned so being nice and early we managed to nab seats right at the front of the stage! (I believe you can reserve tables as well) Entertainment kicked off with a swing and blues singer who was very good. I love the style of music anyway so it was right up my street, My mum and I also got stuck in to a bottle of prosecco. It was nice but at the pricey range of some I've bought. At £32 a bottle it was good stuff, but I wouldn't be hurrying for more except on a special occasion. After the first bit of Entertainment platters of 'tappas' style buffet trays were brought round. This was a little different for me as I'd only ever eaten the full sit down dinner before in the venue (Which are great) The food was fantastic, but I think we chose the wrong seat. We had a few nibbles from the first tray and then the rest seemed to pass us by for the rest of the night. So in the end we got enough to fight off the hunger but were left wanting more. (The selection was great ranging from mini-burgers, fries, chicken goujons, pork belly and other little finger foods) The burgers especially were delicious. After food the main show kicked off. Our main host of the night was Robert Brown. I've worked with Robert in the past and I know how great a performer he is so it was nice to see other people who hadn't react to him. I was particularly impressed by the drag performer Cherrie who had an amazing voice and a great repertoire of songs, and off course the Burlesque girls were amazing. (There was a gentleman in the audience I am sure was drooling at one point and was completely mesmerised by the whole show. Also props for the girl who did the take on Jessica Rabbits scene from 'Who framed Roger Rabbit!) We finished up the second half of the show with a nice bottle of Chilean rose wine. It was nice, but again a tad on the pricey side, at £18 a bottle, just above the average and with a nice sweet bouquet it was ok, but think I'll hit the pints next time to save the wallet so close to the end of the month. Overall the Cabaret Supper Club is a great night out, the performance is great and the food is good. (I think the average price for dinner and show is around £30 per head so its very good value) Its a unique experience that will leave you wanting to come back for more. Bravo!

I've had my fair share of memorable burgers from coast to coast in America, but just glancing at a picture of the beef shin burger transports me back across the pond to the Barking Dog. I remember the few days I spent in Belfast fondly and of the many memories, my meal at the Barking Dog was a definite highlight. In a rather quaint and charming neighborhood, I took a nice short stroll from my Airbnb and came across this gem of an establishment and decided I had to check it out. I had a nice beer to start, and it wasn't a Guinness because stouts aren't my thing, but whatever it was I remember it being excellent and local. Undoubtedly you could make this place a regular haunt and there is no shortage of drinks and food options to make this a go-to for a date, celebration, or a quick meal. The staff are welcoming, kind, and helpful and the general atmosphere is chill. The food for me was ethereal - a burger isn't just a burger here and what you get when you bite into the beef shin burger is a little slice of Heaven. Moist and tender are a given but the taste is just so divine with the caramelized onion, cheddar, and horseradish mayo melding into an union of perfection. It's hard not to describe one of the most memorable meals of my life in such hyperbole but the vivid recall I have of this particular place is uncanny and merits all the praise I can heap upon the fine folks that run the place. If timing had worked out, I would have eaten as meals here as I could have but I'll thank my lucky stars for at least giving me one opportunity to eat such a wonderful burger at such a wonderful eatery. A+ and a definite must when visiting Belfast.

A week or two after it did, a few friends and I called in to take advantage of their 2 for 1 cocktail offer, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's very nice inside, striking the balance between modernity and style with ease. Unfortunately, when we were there, it was very empty (I think there were only 2 other groups in the place!). This was probably more to do with it only being new though than a reflection on the bar. Plus, because it was empty, we got out drinks served to the table, which was nice! I'd like to go back to see if the atmosphere is anybetter, because I think this bar has potential. It should also be popular during the day. Being right across the road from the courts, it's usually teeming with lawyer types, which could be useful if you need any free legal advice!

I was dragged here, I a sense by a group of buddies who had already made plans to go out and I was surprised to see the place was not the messy packed heap I had heard it was! The drinks were really, really tasty, dangerously hiding any hint of alcohol in their fruity suspensions. Coming in at around £5 for a cocktail, it could end up costing quite a bit for a night out here, but there's so much alcohol in each drink that it would be hard to handle spend more than £25! An interesting night!

The dining room was painted dark warm tones and had the feel of a cabin. We were seated immediately and placed an order for cocktails. Our table got the blood orange margarita, old fashioned, and white peach martini. The drinks were incredibly tasty and were such a hit that we ordered another round. For our main food, we got the house bread which came warm and crispy and was paired with delicious bread and olive tamponade. We also got the beef dumplings which in my opinion were not dumplings, but closer to a perogi. They were crispy and umami. Two of us got the chicken main and the other two got the pasta with beef cheek/mushroom and the fish with clams. Everything was amazing! All proteins were juicy and succulent; all veggies were prepared perfectly and seasoned well; and all carbs were complimentary to the dishes. To finish our experience, we ended with the mind blowing sticky toffee pudding. I have no words. I understand why this is such a popular dessert in the UK. WOW. Home was a 10/10 and completely deserved the Michelin recognition. We hope all travelers give this restaurant a chance - it will blow you away.
