I priced out two other local window suppliers and Van Hoof blew them out of the water with pricing. Even when I forgot one window lol they were able to switch them so the one I forgot was replaced. I was on a tight budget and they filled the bill as well as I didn't have to compromise quality of product or service. Thank you for making my home look and feel better!

I was very impressed with Mike Johnstone and his team's commitment to doing the best work possible for us. From the beginning to the end, they worked diligently to complete the job to our total satisfaction. They even voluntarily returned to touch up scuff marks resulting from our move into the house. They were truly professional and performed meticulously in all aspects of the job. I would not hesitate to strongly recommend Boss Painting for any painting needs you might have. Horrible customer service and poor design. I had them in for a quote on a laundry room and…read morebathroom. They came back with a design Mar 12, 2019. He didn't include anything that I had asked for. No spots for laundry baskets or counter space my two must haves. We went into Windmill ( Mar 15,2019) and worked on a new design. It is now, April 22, 2019 and we have heard, NOTHING. I will not be doing business with them now or in the future.

Windmill built our new vanity for us via our contractor last year. We had many, many issues with…read moreour contractor, but none with Windmill. When the contractor finally got off his butt and contacted Windmill to come measure our space, they were here within days, and the vanity was installed as soon as possible. The space for the vanity is about 60 inches wide, but we have a big open space under the sink to allow for a wheelchair to pull up to the sink, so the vanity basically amounts to a set of drawers off to the side. We somehow doubled our allowance for the vanity, which is surprising given it is just a set of drawers and a panel behind the sink, but I never actually saw a bill from Windmill as it was done through our contractor. Nevertheless, we are happy with Windmill's work. The people were very friendly, and came when they said they would. Definitely one of the very few bright spots of our home reno last year.

I hired Starr Fence from Clay Township, MI, to remove a wood privacy fence at my mother's home in…read moreEast China, MI. Justin and his assistant arrived on time with all of the equipment needed to do the job. The fence was about 20 years old and had fallen into the yard due to weather and rotten posts. They worked hard and completed the job efficiently. Justin was friendly, professional, and answered all of my questions. We decided to leave a portion of the fence that was still in good condition for privacy which I appreciated. The price was very fair. The only issue involved a neighbor questioning why "her" fence was being removed. Justin did have to briefly step onto her property while working and he explained that the fence was not actually on her property. For that misunderstanding, I apologize. Overall, I was very satisfied with the work and would recommend Starr Fence to anyone looking for a new fence, repairs, or fence removal services.

We needed a fence (Starr Fencing in Clay Twp.) put in and they did an unexceptable job. Wouldn't…read morefix it for free. Said we'd have to pay them the original estimate AND would have to pay them to fix it. Not how a business should be ran at all. First, the fence is horrible to look at. Many dips and waves to the fence (chain link) and the whole gate that everyone sees, needs the most fixed. Everything is not level and all crooked. They did this on a second home of ours so my husband and I couldn't be there and when it was done, we weren't there to express our concerns. They expected us to pay them without actually seeing the final product and I know why...they knew it looked bad. No way is that proper. They just wanted our money that we were happy to give if they fixed it for free. We ended up paying them (not to fix the fence) because we NEVER want to see them again and to be honest, I really don't think they'd fix it properly. They are the most unprofessional contractor that we've ever worked with. They scream and threaten you instead of talking like an adult. Also, I had neighbors all around us that said when putting up the fence, they were yelling at each other very loudly and used profanity. How embarrassed we were. They also have a very badly prepared contract. They didn't follow the guidelines of the contract at all and when we showed it to a lawyer, they said it was a very weird and a weak contract. Be aware of that. Also, they just are not in any way, reputable. So disappointed and feel sorry for them because if they don't know how to be REAL contractors, they will end up with no clients. Make sure you get signed payment receipts and make sure to have them line item it. The only word I have to describe this, is that they are far from properly handling the issues (a lot of yelling at us without reason). They ruined our fence by making decisions on how to put it in without calling us and explaining. That would have made this go so much better but they won't budge. My message is meant to save anyone from going with them and experiencing what we've gone through. Trust me, you'll be unhappy if you go with Starr Fencing in Clay Township.
