If you're not a Manatee County resident, they won't even let you register anything. They say it's listed on the website, but I didn't see it anywhere, not online or on the intercom. If you don't have an appointment, they send you to another tag agency where the AC doesn't work and the staff has an attitude. Honestly, it feels like only the upper class or certain people are welcome here. Very disappointing and unprofessional experience.

The library hosted a fashion show that featured area students that designed dresses made from trash & other found / discarded items. What these young people came up with was absolutely miraculous, and the juxtaposition of those beautiful creations over the fact that we have a massive waste crisis on out hands in this world was really moving. One dress was made entirely of green soda bottles curled and extruded to create a flowing, bouncing ensemble mirrored by a hairdo of similar curl and body donned by the model. Another outfit top was made almost exclusively with a young lady's grandfathers old ties. Very creative! This is why I live in this part of Florida, and why I will continue to support the community and events they offer for many years to come.

I came to register the vehicle and get new plates for a used car that I just bought. I was not able to get new plates because I didn't have enough money at the time and they were about to close so I was running out of time. But Joshua was so very patient and helped me out. My mom was acting up and being intense, which made me upset and Joshua had to deal with all the madness. He was incredibly patient and tried his best to help me out. He was able to register my vehicle and set me up with appointments for the plates and other processes, I was really grateful for him. I noticed one of the coworkers next to him seemed annoyed by us, she didn't do anything at all to help him though and he seemed pretty new at this job and I wonder if this is how they roll here, he seemed like he could have used some help, but she seemed like ready to check out. I would not have the disability rating I currently have without his knowledge of the Compensation and Pension system. I had an appointment with him today, and when I went into his office, he had researched my most recent claim and had the appeal already completed for my signature. I wish more Manatee County Veterans knew about this organization and the free services they provide. The personnel who work here are skilled in the lingo needed to get their claims approved. We walked in and a large room up front had four tables set up with ladies showing groups how to make fun things with paper. It was such a wonderful way to spend the morning. If the baby hadn't started to get antsy, then the child and I would have spent all day there. Judy showed us how to make a few things and was patient with my son going through all the steps. As for the library, we had never been to this location. It was so clean. Not just tidy, but clean. Everything looked like it belong in that spot with no clutter. The kid's area was great for an antsy 2 year old to play and let off some energy. I tried to look for a book, but she wasn't having it so must of my time was in that space.

Well organized early voting experience! I went to the main facility to cast my ballot. The main…read morefacility is across from DeSoto Mall, in the same parking lot as the Manatee County bus transfer station and also the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, half a block away from the building where you get your driver's license/car title, etc. The website for this government entity is well organized and each of the 5 locations offering early voting is listed along with a dynamic 'real time' wait period at each location. You can see what the wait time is going to be before you bother to go. How great is that? There is no excuse not to get out and vote when they make it this easy. When I showed up, there was no line, no hassle, no waiting... in and out in 10 minutes. Don't forget your photo ID! When you do early voting, you can appear at any of the 5 county early voting locations-- you do not have to wait to vote at your own polling station. All the information you need to know about getting registered or voting is on the website. I strongly recommend taking advantage of early voting. Get it over with on your schedule without the last minute rush or hassle.
