Do not believe the positive reviews -- they are absolutely misleading. My experience with Corporate Stays in Ottawa was one of the worst I've ever had. I booked with them upon returning to Canada, and from start to finish it was a complete nightmare. First, they charged me a $1000 "deposit", which they claim is refundable after your stay. I have yet to receive a single cent back. Then, they added a "professional cleaning fee", even though the apartment was anything but clean. The floors were filthy -- my socks turned black just from walking around. There was dust everywhere, and food crumbs stuffed between the couch cushions, clearly left behind by previous guests. When I arrived late at night after more than 12 hours of travel, I was greeted by a broken bed, a leaking shower that was already developing mold, a damaged blind, and furniture covered in dings and scratches. The furnishings looked like they had been picked up from garage sales. One side of the couch was broken and sat lower than the other side, and the kitchen table was so oversized for the space that it had to be shoved awkwardly into the living room, overlapping the couch. The hard plastic dining chairs were unbearably uncomfortable, and the kitchen island, which was bar height, had no bar stools -- just one of the plastic kitchen chairs awkwardly placed beside it. For a company calling itself "Corporate Stays," there was shockingly no desk or proper workspace at all. The place felt more like a run-down dorm room than a professional rental. During my stay, one of the kitchen drawers broke off its track, adding to the growing list of issues. To make matters worse, we had a terrible experience during their "fire alarm testing." It was chaotic, poorly communicated, and incredibly disruptive. I would never recommend Corporate Stays to anyone -- not even my worst enemy. You'll end up overpaying for a subpar, dirty, and poorly maintained apartment managed by a company that clearly doesn't care about its customers. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. We had booked and paid prior to our arrival and they cancelled days before due to the fact that they lost the building that they were managing. Then they emailed to say we would receive the full refund however, that took almost 3 months before it was received and they were not answering phone calls or emails. Customer service was brutal! In our experience business owners who fail to deliver as promised roughly fall into two categories. Some step up to the plate, take responsibility for their business's actions/omissions, sincerely apologize, promise they will do better and fully reimburse the customer. We maintain that this type of business owner rightly earns trust, respect and robust loyalty from their customer base. Another type of business owner will lash out at the customer with a circle-the-wagons, hyper-defensive strategy using false, illogical ad hominem attacks. These attacks are transparent and seen for what they are, making the strategy an unwise business choice. We would also like to stress that we never requested a discount as the owner claims. We always check for bed bugs (and other types of bugs that can induce immune hypersensitivity reactions) immediately upon entry into the unit before unpacking. As we stated in our original post after we discovered the bugs that were identified as bed bugs by a government health laboratory within minutes of entry, we immediately vacated the premises. Please refer to original post for additional details. Providing a partial refund applies only when the business fulfilled their obligations and the customer leaves for no good reason. But when the business breaches the agreement they should provide a full refund, which business owners of the first kind described above will do. They will also reimburse for the hotel costs incurred which a representative of the business promised, a promise they so far have not fulfilled. To be fair, we can't be sure if this is the business owner's modus operandi or his replying based on inaccurate information provided to him by his employees who may have a vested interested in saying they did no wrong and consequently blaming the customer. We trust that careful readers of our post and the business owner's reply will readily recognize whose narrative is backed by data and logic. We have extensive documentation of our experience, including from third parties with no vested interest in the outcome of the dispute, including the previously highlighted government public health laboratory as well as a major academic pest control laboratory, and peer-reviewed scientific literature. Res ipsa loquitur. As to the owner blacklisting us, readers of our original review will surely recognize how silly that is. We would be remiss if we did not update our post with additional information that will further support readers in making their assessment and choices. We were in Montreal for a 2 month summer stay. As we have previously described, after the fiasco with Corporate Stays on day 1 we were forced to find emergency hotel accommodations until we could find another apartment(s). We now share our subsequent experience: We first found an excellent Airbnb for a month. The landlord were very nice, decent, responsive and responsible. The apartments were nice and clean. No bed bugs, or bugs of any kind, and no dirt or scary stains. We then sought another management company in hopes of finding an apartment for the remaining month of our visit. We were fortunate to find a company named Premiere Suites. Oh thank goodness for them! Our experience with Premiere Suites was the exact opposite of our experience with Corporate Stays. They provided us with a very nice and clean apartment, no bed bugs or bugs of any kind, and no scary stains. The staff were very nice, professional and responsive. We just sensed right away that everything would go smoothly with them and it did. We will go back to Premiere Suites next time and we would recommend them based on our experience. read more

Stayed at a few hotels in Old port of Montreal area, but didn't really enjoy the views too much like an queen elizabeth where it's advertised as the place where "John Lennon stayed" and the interior and exterior looks great but you get the view of a service entrance in the back which looks terrible, like something from a post apocalyptic movie. We rented the PH suite on Sherbrooke street with CS, it's only about 4 units on the top floor in total and the floor is private for PH users only. The view's much better and you get to see the whole of Montroyal. I didn't like the water pressure in the shower, but did like the rest. The gaz fireplace is a nice touch read more

We are in Montreal and the location is perfect. We booked online and it was super easy to reserve the location. Parking was extra but worth it as the snow and street parking would be a lot more expensive. I am glad we found this location, much cheaper than a hotel. read more

1.The day I moved into Les Etoiles, I called guest services to see if I had a parking spot, I was told I didn't, so I requested a parking spot, but the key card I was given didn't work, when I was trying to exit the parking garage and couldn't, a worker from embassy suites came down and said that it wasnt working because Corporate Stays didn't pay for a spot. A few days later after trying the card every day, and being told that I'm using the card wrong, corporate stays sent an employee to meet me at the gate to show me how to use the keycard. Keycard didn't work. The employee said he would program me a new card on the spot. He programs the card and gives it to me to try, the new card also doesn't work. He says he will leave a new card for me in the lockbox. I never got the card. 2.The corporate stays letter says that Les etoiles requires a code to get into the building, the lock was broken the entire two months or so that I stayed there, so anyone can come inside the building 3.One late night I return to les etoiles to find the front door to the building locked, the keypad disabled, with a note on the door to use the door in Embassy Suites that requires a keycard, Embassy suites workers told me that they can't let me in because about 40 people staying in Les Etoiles have asked them to let them in, even though they are not the same company 3. The air conditioner breaks one day, corporate stays sends someone to look at it, concludes that it will take a few days to fix and moves me into the property on 456 rue de la Gauchetière West. The day I move into the new property, I discover the dishes are all dirty because a bottle of oil had spilled and not cleaned up, corporate stays sends housekeeping to clean it up. The door in the bathroom is too tall and scrapes the ceiling so if you try to close it, it snows drywall dust 4. I move back into les etoiles after 3 days when I'm told that the air conditioning is fixed 5. Air conditioner breaks again, someone comes to check on it and left my door unlocked, nothing was missing so I didn't say anything and chalked it up to a typical day at Les Etoiles. I get moved into The Shaun building and am told to move back into les etoiles a few days later. 6. I then move out of both the Shaun and Les Etoiles in one night into BnC. I am told to follow the instructions in the email to move into BnC. When I get to BnC i look at the email for the passcode to the lockbox and there is no passcode, there is also no concierge. 7. The lobby and elevator of BnC has a permanent smell of rotting garbage all day and every day. 8. My washer at BnC only washes in blistering hot water, no matter what setting you use. Even the final rinse uses hot water. Ruined my clothes and shrank a few things. After having experienced 4 different properties in a stay where I'm only meant to stay at one, I can tell you that they are all complete garbage and if you're expecting basic things like both hot and cold water in the laundry, stay far far away from this company. read more

Our booking was effortless via on-line. Our stay was for 10 days during Montreals busiest summer festival events, so the location was pretty much in the centre of it all. Walking distance to shopping, groceries, and popular cafes and evening hot spots. When we arrived we retrieved our keys at the office. The 2 bedroom apartment was clean, had a beautiful panoramic view and had a trendy urban decor. The fitness centre was easy to access and had diverse amount of training equipment. We did call the office during our stay to change a light bulb of a free standing lamp which was replaced the same day. I would definitly stay there again when visiting Montreal! Lisa read more

My husband and I stayed at 400 Sherbrooke W for two weeks when we first moved to Montreal. Good space for a couple. The suite had a washer and dryer, equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and it was very clean. It is pet friendly! You pay a fee for the pet though. The staff is friendly. The building is connected to the Hilton Garden Inn, and you can use their gym and pool. The location is great, everything around and walking distance to downtown and plateau. The decor is ok. Nothing to write home about. Overall it was a pleasant stay. It gave us time to find an apartment to rent and that is what we needed it. read more

Sooooo we rented a condo with CorporateStays in Montreal and they are a complete fraud! After we checked out, they charged us a $500 smoking fee... And claim there was a strong smell of smoke in the unit after we left. I'm a non-smoker - and even if I wasn't, I would NEVER allow anyone to smoke in accommodations that I'm sleeping in AND renting. Moreover, when we contacted the company to ask them for proof of this fraudulent charge, they were EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful. Plus, the couldn't send us ANY form of proof that there had been cigarettes smoked in the unit. (which there clearly wasn't). My friends and I that stayed in their unit are professionals in the medical, law, and financial industries and we would have gladly recommended these accommodations to our network - but not after this blatant scam. It feels like Corporate Stays is trying to keep their prices low and then making up for it by charging innocent guests with fake charges - and offering them NO proof or recourse to dispute it. I find these reviews interesting in that my experience with Corporate Stays was as good as I could have hoped for. My destination was Medellin, Colombia. From the first contact via emails, to on-site support the CS personnel offered me an excellent array of choices with very competitive pricing. My apartment could not have been more attractive or better located, and the building was absolutely beautiful. My arrival was after midnight so the local representative came over on the first day to make sure that everything was going well. Not only this, they actually helped me find an an excellent hotel in another city that they were not serving at the time and helped me negotiate an insider rate that amounted to a 50% discount. I have stayed at this location many times and it has become a second home in my travels. Reading the other reviews, I have also rented from AirBnB with less success primarily because the professionalism of the "owner-agents" definitely varies. I have found that the CS staff is more predictably professional and efficient in their communications. read more

I don't even know where to begin. They have by far one of the worst customer service I have ever encountered! Tried to chat online with an agent - took her 10 minutes every time to reply to my questions. Tried to send them an email with some questions - they replied with a standard form and completely ignore my questions. When I replied, it took them half a day each time to answer back. We are writing this review to inform potential customers (renters) of Corporate Stays of our disgust for their management. We cannot comment on their rental apartments elsewhere since we only rented in Panama City, Panama. Let me repeat, it's not their apartments, it's their management! All our issues were handled by the customer service department in Montreal, all to no avail. Even when the President of Corporate Stays (Mr. Vladimir Suarez) was made aware of our situation within 24 hours of checkin, absolutely nothing was corrected! Telephone calls, emails, etc. all fell on totally deaf ears, despite a posted notice in the unit which stated "If you are not 100% satisfied" please contact our customer service department... signed by the President Mr. Vladimir Suarez. We have been renting executive type apartments and apartments worldwide for many years. I can emphatically state that the apartment we rented from Corporate Stays was not up to par in any way with any other place we have rented including a one month rental from "Bridgestreet" (State and Grand) in Chicago, last March which was better than "excellent". First, we were only provided with two bath towels and no other hand towels, etc. Several items in the unit were physically broken, lamps, shades, towel racks, etc. Not a big deal. We do realize that these things happen. What we are not willing to tolerate is the lack of management attention to correct these problems. "Rogilio" after meeting us at the apartment stated "I'll be back in a few hours with the towels" never came back. After complaining to Boris in Montreal nothing was done! "Winston" never came over to repair the broken items or give us towels even though Montreal said he dropped by the apartment. We were totally annoyed with the pull down window shade in the bedroom which would not pull down at all. Imagine having to take a knap during the day with the glaring sun in your eyes!! I could go on and on with details but that is not the essence of my review. What is most important here is that Corporate Stay's doesn't give a damn about your "stay". Customers should be aware of this for stays of more than two nights! read more

Currently writing this review as I'm living here. I have lived here for the past week, and have never experienced as bad. Me and my partner paid approx. 4000 CAD to live here for a month. We have had not had access to a jacuzzi, AC remote is not provided in the room and we've asked about this 3 times which has fallen on deaf ears. NO ONE comes to clean the room, although they state a bi-weekly vacuuming. Decor and lightning is nowhere near like the pictures, it is absolute ly the worst; can barely see anything with the LACK OF LIGHT. read more

EXPECT TO BE WOKEN UP AT 7:00 AM WITH CONSTRUCTION NOISE. There is a huge construction site on the South Side of the building. The constructions starts at 7:00 am Monday through Friday. And they are only on the 5th floor of construction. After ten days of not sleeping, I was finally moved to a silent apartment. So make sure you don't get a south facing apartment. The North Facing and East Facing apartments are quiet and the views are very nice. East and North are ok. EXPECT BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INEXPERIENCED STAFF/AND THE GENERAL MANAGER IS THE WORST I was perfectly clear with Lisanne, the sales representative, that I wanted silence and light. But she is young and inexperienced, and I don't think she understands luxury comfort. It is one thing to work for a company that claims to provide such services, it is another thing to be accustomed to such service. Noise is a concern for me. When I told the guest manager, Nathalia Castilho, that I did not sleep for ten days, rather than apologize for my discomfort she said "did you not see the constructions site" in a very sarcastic tone. Can you imagine the guest manager, saying that. I think that says it all about the service. An intelligent person in that position would apologize and ask what she can do to make a client's (who has not slept in ten days), stay more pleasant, I am adding this little comment, in an effort to educate......the incompetent. The fire alarm goes off on the 2nd night, and I call the emergency number, and the person on call says something along the lines "what do you want me to do about it". I think he actually said, "how is this my problem". I am not sure I was mildly concerned about my personal safety, and I did not think it was the right time to address his inappropriate comment, there were people gathered in the hallway wondering what should be done. I was told the protocol is for the doorman to make an announcement but that was not done. Here is the kicker........guess who was on call that night.......The general Manager Fred Aaoud. I repeat that was the general manager. I was charged $75 to move to a quiet apartment, but given that I complained to the CEO about the general manager, FRED, and he called the shots, it did not happen. He did want to meet me for coffee but I refused. I guess the guest service manager, remember Nathalia, must have felt some remorse.... because she did offer me a tic-tac when I was forced to pay the $75. Can you imagine, I ask for silence, I don't sleep for ten days, I complain, I am told "did you not see the construction site outside the window, and at the time where one is insulted by paying for a $75 fee which should have been waived, no questions should have been asked, one is offered a tic tak. I made numerous complaints to the COO (Laurence Montplaisir) she never replied to any of my concerns and to the CEO Vladimir Suarez but this is completely futile. DO NOT EXPECT CLEAN WINDOWS I asked Lisanne if she could have the windows cleaned when I was moved into a quiet apartment, she said don't expect us to clean the windows. The coffer maker was broken...and when I showed her, she rolled her eyes. The phone was also broken. I have stayed there before and it was pleasant, the staff was more professional. None of the staff from Winter/Spring 2014 was here. I guess the high turnover is starting to affect quality. My advice once again: Make sure you don't get an apartment that faces the Southern Courtyard, PS Sherbrooke facing apartments/direct view of the mountain face north, apartments facing the Stadium face East..... Also expect very bad service and you will not be disappointed. Actually don't expect any service. Jennifer the maintenance lady and Pedro in sales are very nice! I think the rest of the staff at the higher levels should speak to both Jennifer and Pedro. The apartments are ok, the views can be very nice, but don't expect true Luxury. The CEO, Vladimir clams this is a like 4 Star accommodation in his review, that is quite the claim, I think in a 4 Star hotel the staff actually is trained...... read more

I would give them 0 star if possible. The apartment is ok (a bit overpriced), but I urge you to stay away from this company for only one reason: The customer service is horrific and not responsive. Moved in and found out the dishwasher didn't work, called them at least 20 times in a 2-week period and at multiple occasions was promised the issue would be rectified as soon as possible but never happened. After a week-long of calling and chasing, they finally sent someone but he instead checked the washer/dryer and left a note indicating its working fine. Another week has passed and again no one even bother to give me a call to provide status update. As of today, 2 weeks after I reported this issue, it is still not resolved. They seem to only care about selling their apartment and didn't even understand the basic rules of serving customers. If you plan to stay just 1 or 2 days, you may get lucky but this is certainly not a place I would recommend for mid to long-term stay. read more

Over the past few years, our firm has used Corporate Stays for several of our Executives and we had excellent service. Over the past several months, however, the quality took a drastic nosedive and we found out that management had changed. In fact, the employees and management has completely changed over the last year and the service is now non-existent. One of our executives complained about the heating not working throughout the winter and it was never (yes never) fixed. The WiFi reception is terrible and the Executive needed to use his cell phone data instead, the bi-weekly cleanings were not honored, the 2-week notice to extend or vacate clause was disregarded and we needed to argue to extend one month as Corporate Stays overbooked and wanted to 'evict' an Executive who had the right to extend for another year with a 2-week notice (one of the clauses that made us choose Corporate Stays). This morning the Executive had to shower in the gym locker room as there was no running water in his unit... Needless to say, our Executives are happy to leave Corporate Stays and our firm will never use or recommend Corporate Stays again. Beware! When looking for a place to stay in Montreal, I was delighted when I found a one-level chic apartment in the heart of the city. When conversing with the Corporate Stays associate, I was *very* specific when it came to what I wanted. She had shown me a variety of apartments and I finally gave the go ahead for one of them. I was assured that the apartment I had paid for would be the apartment I'd be getting for my 42 night stay. My friend and I were VERY excited to stay there. Lo and behold, when we arrived, we were informed that we had been given a two-level apartment. "Hmmm", I thought. So we checked it out anyway, maybe the situation wasn't as dire as I thought ... it was!! The apartment I paid for had beautiful views of the city; the one I was given had to have the curtain closed at all times because the windows faced the corridor, so anyone walking to their apartment could see inside ours. I contacted the Corporate Stays associate I had booked with reminding her about the extensive conversation we had prior to booking about not wanting an apartment with stairs, and other than a standard "we are looking into this" response, I heard nothing back. All of my other emails were ignored. My friend and I checked out of the apartment after 3 nights, and Corporate Stays REFUSED to refund for the other 39 nights because "I didn't give them a chance to rectify the issue". Luckily I had booked through Airbnb, so they did the right thing and gave me a refund for the nights I didn't stay. Corporate Stays is not an ethical company. Once they have your money, they really couldn't care less about you. AVOID! read more

This company has the worse customer service. After not being able to access our rental with my fiancé and 8 month old we were promised reimbursement of not only our original stay but also any added expenses. This was asserted to us over and over again by a company employee. When it was time to submit our reimbursement they have now gone back on their word and have not reimbursed us for the amount they have promised. Through this whole ordeal we are out close to $1k. This is a huge inconvenience for our family and very detrimental to our overall financial wellbeing. This is such an unfortunate situation which could have been handled easily by management. Instead they chose corporate greed and chose to look the other way. Don't trust this company! They are liars and untrustworthy. read more

We stayed with Corporate Stays in Ottawa for 4 weeks. It was a terrible experience and DO NOT recommend this company to anyone. 1 - The apartment we booked was for sale, but was not told until after we had moved in. The apartment was open for inspection constantly, with up to 5 inspections throughout the day from 10am to 7pm. On many occasions, we did not receive notice of these inspections. The agents let themselves in without knocking, once whilst in was in the shower! 2. The apartment was NOT serviced during our stay, despite being advertised as such. Cleaning supplies were not supplied, so I had to buy it and do it myself. 3. We were forced to check out a day early, despite having paid in full, due to mix up in their bookings. After we had moved out and checked into a hotel, I found the original receipt showing our correct check-out date. Corporate Stays refused to refund the difference. 4. Our complaints were not taken seriously. We asked to be moved to another apartment, but was refused. Staff were rude, unhelpful and very difficult to communicate with (mostly Spanish/French speaking). read more

The apartment was comfortable and beat the heck out of a regular hotel room. The cost is less than a hotel room. Having a full kitchen and laundry in the apartment was a joy. The location was excellent. Lots to do and all within walking distance. Covered parking was very nice. I would recommend to coworkers, family and friends. read more

Our stay in Montreal has been great, despite the awful service provided by corporate stays. The appartment changed without notice 2 days before: different address, no more pool, less beds (4 persons instead of 5), broken flush and shower, no possibility to lock restrooms and bathroom. Almost nothing in the kitchen closets: no salad bowl, no dish, not a single dish for the micro wave, no water jug,..... 2 hours to get somebody from corporate stays on the phone. I got apologies, and commitment to bring all the necessary items the next day. But I saw nobody. Next day means possibly next month or year for Corporate Stays.... read more

I used Corporate Stays Montreal in March of 2013. I was in Montreal for 6 weeks for work and I called to find an apartment with three requirements: Quiet, a comfortable bed, and a bathtub. I was given a small list of apartments that met these requirements, and the representative assured me that the properties would be perfect for my needs. To be extra sure, I sent my real estate agent to the apartment to see, and she was shown a suitable apartment and approved it. When we arrived, the apartment was indeed beautiful, but was a completely different unit than had been shown our agent, and had a construction site directly outside the window. Corporate Stays (after much much debate and rudeness from their part) agreed to move us to a different apartment. This second apartment is where the real nightmare began. I woke up a few days into our stay with bites. Not wanting to panic, I went to get a second opinion, and yep. Bedbug bites. I completely realize that this problem can happen to anyone and is NOT necessarily representative of a cleanliness problem. But what I found TRULY shocking was how Corporate Stays handled this situation. Not only were we met with flat-out denials and accusations of somehow "faking" the bites (despite photographic evidence of bites on my arms, back and even face), they refused to refund us a dime for our stay and refused to cover any costs incurred (like having our belongings decontaminated and finding temporary lodging upon discovery of the infestation). Only after much arguing and threats of legal action did they reimburse us for the days that we would not be staying in their apartment. We never received so much as an apology. I am generally quite understanding, as these things can happen to anyone, but the way Corporate Stays treated us was beyond unacceptable. Later, upon speaking to others who have used their services, we learned that problems with this company are common. I would personally not recommend this company. read more

I never got to rent from them because they are too unreliable. I made an appointment to see a studio in Montreal and the guy never showed up or even called. I also had problems getting responses to emails and it is often hard to get someone on the phone. Maybe it's best I didn't rent after reading some reviews of them. read more

I have been working in Toronto for 3 weeks and chose to stay in an apartment located at University Plaza, 140 Simco St, Toronto, rented through Corporate Stays. The apartment was very well equipped and almost like home. The building is very well situated, being minutes away from the subway to travel to work and also walking distance from the main centre and Queen Street West, where ther are many bars and restaurants. The buliding also has a fully equipped gymn and delightful roof garden (equipped with barbeques) - it was such a shame I did not have more time to enjoy these facilities. I have re-booked my next trip and look forward to retruning to Simcoe St in the near future. read more
