A guy working at Hertz told me that Thrifty overbooked themselves and everyone just went home. No one around for customer service, to explain the situation, to correct the problem that they created. We had to spend over $100 to Uber to our Airbnb. The next morning we had to pay to Uber again to Enterprise Rental Car To actually get good customer service and a car. By the way, we called and never even received a call back, Thrifty, if you're at work today, you owe us a reimbursement.

The rep was super nice and friendly. Asked about our flight and demonstrated an interest in helping us get on our way. The hick up was a not having the type of car that I reserved - we wanted a luxury sedan but she offered a small lux SUV. They gave me a few options and I ended up waiting about 30minutes, which wasn't ideal, but they made up for it by giving me a cool car to drive for a few weeks and going above and beyond in their customer service skills! They even setup a personal wifi hotspot for me to use while I waited for the car. I returned the car today and the experience was seamless. DJ answered the phone and was super cordial and kind and saw that I was looking to leave in a hurry and get back to my day and so moved the process along. I got a text that I could check-out online and skip the line - so, when we arrived we saw a sign that said if you're Hertz rewards to go downstairs (via elevator) to their window - which we did. I was then told that if you use the text it takes you out of their system and I had to go back upstairs. So, we had to take the elevator again and when we got up there, now there were 5 people in line. When I got up to the counter, I was told I should be able to go downstairs and they'd take care of me. I refused and so then they "upgraded" me complementary and I ended up with a HUGE SUV which is not what I wanted to drive around (gas and also parking issues) so I had to go back to the window and ask them to put me in the rental I actually booked. It took over an hour - as mentioned - and it was stressful and not at all the Hertz experience I'm used to. If this location doesn't offer the text check-out then they should notify Hertz to discontinue that for people picking up here. Drop-off was a bit easier and went smoother than expected - I showed up earlier expecting it to not be fast but it was like other airports and it is nice that it's so close to the ticketing area (directly across the street).

From where I stand, it appears this location is renting out more cars than it can cover for confirmed reservations. Confirmed renters are left waiting at the counter for a vehicle to be returned and turned around. A reservation should mean a car is waiting for you, not that you're next in line for whatever comes back. My most recent rental was the low point. After a wait of an hour and a half past my scheduled pickup, the car I was finally handed smelled strongly of marijuana. A car that hasn't been properly cleaned or checked after the previous renter is unacceptable from any rental company, let alone one that charges premium rates.

That is more than half the total rental cost.
