I had an accounting for an estate filing that I had to get to the Fairfax County Commissioner of…read moreAccounts in 2 days and put out an Ad on Craigslist to see if I could find someone that was convenient to me. I had an overwhelming response but when I spoke to Kendra and reviewed her credentials she seemed a perfect fit so I made an appointment to meet with her for her next available business day. She sat me down in her office and we reviewed the requirements to be input into Quickbooks 2012 and this went very smoothly. She was able to tell me with certainty how much effort would be required and even accommodated my urgent needs by working into the night and rescheduling her other recurring duties! I came back the next afternoon and it was 99% done with only a few conflicts that she presented me with. We worked out the final details and updated the company file and I was on my way. After taking her work to my accountant for review and to transfer the summary figures into the filing form there were almost no issues with her expedited work. Today I filed the form and the summary data for review and with only enough time before my deadline. Granted this was my first experience using a bookkeeping service I was very impressed by her professionalism and enthusiasm and would recommend her for anyone's Estate accounting needs. Above all, in this case, her efficiency, communication, and understanding of the requirements are what pulled me through this ordeal. I plan on working with her for the second accounting which is due in January.

Rather than inquiring if I would be interested in her taking over moving forward she became very short, rude, and unpleasant and simply said what you want does not fit my business model. This call was early on a Tuesday morning and the stress projected from her voice, dismissive demeanor and juxtaposition of her other reviews left me speechless. Arrogance, burnout or bad day? I was in the same government job for almost 8 years and feeling extremely stuck. I knew I needed to make a change and after a friend referred me to me,and I decided to reach out to Argus Academy for a consultation. It turned out to be one of the best career decisions I've ever made. From the first conversation, August made me feel comfortable and supported. He took the time to really understand my goals and concerns, and then developed a personalized plan to help me achieve them. He walked me through everything from hidden gems around networking, resume upgrades, interview support to negotiations. I learned that I had an incredible amount of experience and value, but I was unaware of how to navigate the rigorous job market potholes, and how to get my foot in the door of my top companies strategically. I literally called him after every interview (3 rounds) and he was right there for me to advise and guide me on next steps. Ended up getting a 30k bump + stock options and bonuses, which I am so incredibly grateful for to have both gotten out of that role and into a well-respected firm with a MUCH better culture. I can't recommend August and his talents highly enough. I truly don't think I would be where I am today without his incredible support and expertise around networking and succeeding in this difficult job economy we're in right now. THANK YOU, AUGUST!!
