Great community and beautiful architecture throughout the entire area. It nice to have it gated and also security during evening hours.

Make this a hard requirement at the start of the tour to the sales person. New issues for my particular unit include rodents in the walls and ceiling crawl space and bats found nearby infected with rabies. In regards to the "parking lot" project, I've reported numerous code violations, to the City of San Marcos (I also work in Licensing / Permitting). Parking lot violations include Disabled / ADA individual accessibility violations. City officials seem to think telling citizens to report Disabled / ADA violations to the state (passing the buck) is a valid argument if City of San Marcos employees originally passed the subpar work in violation and fails to take appropriate action to correct. City of San Marcos officials are claiming no code complaints have been reported to the city. I informed the City officials that seems highly unlikely based on the numerous issues reported in Yelp reviews for this property. So, current and past Prominence community members, now is your opportunity for complaints to be heard. The City of San Marcos has opened code compliance case into the property. Refer to the screenshot for the email address for the City official looking into the violations, CE2026-0329, especially related to the "parking lot" project, if you were displaced, had to miss work, denied access to your parking spot, or had your vehicle towed.

The amenities, cleanliness, and organization of this complex are all top-notch, but the main factor for Block C's success has been its leasing office team. Jessica gave us our first tour of the place in March, and actually REMEMBERED us nine months later when we were finally ready to apply and move in! She is a gem. She is so knowledgable and patient, made us feel very recognized and welcomed, and facilitated a smooth move-in transition. Not many leasing companies seem to get this right - but Block C does: attention to detail and genuine care make ALL the difference to a resident! And we definitely felt that with Jessica. More recently, many of our interactions have been with Sara, who has been nothing short of an angel. She is professional, she is knowledgable, and always willing to help. After we were approved, she helped us on move-in day and made sure we got everything we needed. But her care did NOT stop after that first day - she answered questions and coordinated repairs for weeks after that! She is so quick and responsive each and every time we correspond with her via email. She has helped us with storing our packages when we are out of town, accepted and coordinated larger deliveries for us, and paid rapt attention each time we had a maintenance issue. Each time there has been a maintenance request, she's made sure not only that it simply gets done, but also that it gets done to our satisfaction, and she doesn't just promise that it will and forget - she actually follows up and sees to it herself. You have no idea how much peace of mind that lends a resident, and I am thankful for it every day! Both Sara and Jessica go above and beyond by not only getting things done, but being SO cheerful and prompt with everything they do, and I marvel at their patience and energy! We strongly believe that the best decision Block C's administration ever made was hiring Jessica and Sara. It takes great people to run a great office, and they have been amazing and deserve all the praise (and all the bonuses!) in the world. I know John has been a big part of this as well - he takes care and genuine interest in the operations of the entire community (which I bet is no easy job!) and is very attentive to our needs and our maintenance requests as well. The whole staff has an amazing attitude of service, pride in ownership + stewardship, and attention to detail, and I can tell he leads by example. And it is not just the staff's kindness that makes this place so great - it is genuinely a good place to live. The organization of the complex as a whole that makes me proud to live here. FOBs instead of keys? Genius. A remote door unlocking system for main entrances? Seamless (Why has the housing industry not applied this broadly yet??). A parcel pending package delivery system? What a life-saver. A mixed parking system? Best solution to the parking problem I've ever seen. Everything about Block C makes SENSE and is beautifully executed for the resident's ease and comfort. It truly is the future of the leasing experience. And on top of that, the security team and the maintenance team are effective and responsive. What more could you ask for? As a young millennial, I've lived in my share of apartment complexes in and around southern California. At Block C, one of the main differences is that the whole staff makes us feel not like a burden (which is how I'm used to being treated by rental offices) but instead like appreciated members of their home and family! The complex itself is well-kept and well organized, and I couldn't be prouder to live here. Thank you! -Mr. and Mrs. Javier + Amanda Gonzalez

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! We took over a lease and lived here for…read more9 months. The communication for taking over the lease was very slow. When we did move in, the charges we had on top of rent were way too much. We had to pay an extra $125 every month for a second parking spot. The utilities were a joke! We were told there was solar.. our "solar" bill was around $150 a month! For a 574 square foot apartment (when we both work full time outside of the home). Every single utility is charged for. Gas, solar, water, pest control, trash, sewer, service fee. And then the parking garage... we were grateful we never got into an accident! The way the PIMA students and other residents drive through this structure was ridiculous. They went way too fast around corners and did not look. My fiance saw someone hit a parked car and told the leasing office, not sure they did anything about it. When our lease was close to ending, they never reached out to us about signing a new lease (which we were not going to do), once the month out time hit, I emailed them and they told us we had to give 30 days notice, even though the lease was ending. This caused us having to pay for a few extra days. When I scheduled the move out inspection, the guy arrived the last 4 minutes of a two hour window, and then told me they would be lenient because we had taken over a lease. That was not the case (lack of communication between management and maintenance?). After moving out, they sent us the move out inspection and charged us $200 for drywall repair, but another document they also sent said $50/hr for 2 hours, which should have only been $100. Luckily I caught it and got the full refund. But quite scammy! I could go on and on... the loud roads and freeway in the middle of the night, the construction that did not stay within their hours, but I hope you can understand how bad this place was. Yes there were a few nice things (nice gym, new appliances, walkable location), but these things do NOT outway the bad.

1/5 - Disappointing move-out experience…read more I'm a former tenant of The Marc Apartments in San Marcos, and my move-out experience was extremely frustrating. After vacating, I was charged $550 in total move-out fees for carpet cleaning, painting, and general cleaning. These charges included items that were not identified during the pre-move-out inspection. At that inspection, I was told the unit was in good condition and that I might only incur a very small paint-related charge, and I was given instructions on how to address it to avoid the fee. I followed those instructions, yet I was still charged not only for painting, but for additional cleaning items that were never raised beforehand. When I disputed the charges, communication was slow and inconsistent. I was also incorrectly charged a $125 late fee, which was only reversed after I noticed it and followed up. Issues like this are concerning, especially given that MG Properties has previously been involved in litigation related to security deposit and move-out practices. I attempted to resolve the matter outside of court, but was unable to reach a resolution. I ultimately filed a small claims case and prevailed. Even after the judgment, payment required weeks of follow-up, and the first check issued to me was made out incorrectly, causing further delay. Based on my experience, this does not appear to be a simple one-time error. A fellow tenant I lived with was assessed the same types of move-out charges and chose not to dispute them, and the pattern of charges was consistent with what I experienced. Renters should document everything and be prepared to advocate for themselves during move-out. There are too many other apartments in San Diego County to deal with this level of stress. I would not rent here again.

I had the opportunity to start out w Ms G and another group of great professors, then ended with Ms Castro & Mr. Smith and some new professors which were great as well. This program is no joke. It's hard, tests you, and I promise you those sleepless nights will be worth it. With that being said I was offered phone numbers after hours, tutoring, and if you knew me I ask a BUNCH of questions so I stayed after a lot. In between classes they would stop by the tables ask if I needed help with anything, just to say hello, or to reserve/open the lab. Of course the grading scale is NOT IDEAL but again RT is a serious role ... ask around this program isn't easy anywhere. This program takes alot but with Ms Castro and Mr. Smiths guidance I believe it's doable. Main advice ask ask ask. I canNOT leave out Ms. Marilyn Quindo that has helped me with EVERYTHING and kept my semesters in line with all that comes along with this program, she made my life easier! Front desk girls are the best, personable, positive attitudes and trust me that's great to see after no sleep on some days. Thank you TARA! Fast forward to now. (Still talk to Ms G) Ms.Castro/Smith is still in contact with me, helped me with some great advice with my boards, I continued to go on campus after being done, and now new grad interviews.
